Yep, it was working... I've just discovered that one of the recent builds has a completely different API. I'm working on changing this over to the new API. One thing I did just notice is the events I catch are firing really often now, so I'll need to do some debugging to work out what the deal is.

Thank you so much, Gnarfoz. As you probably worked out this is my first add-on... I'll incorporate your changes and release a new version shortly, and it looks like I'll need to change the method to get information about events, as it's not giving a whole lot of useful data.
