You can get rid of the "attempt to perform arithmetic on local 'offSetSize' (a string value)" error by setting a numerical value in the field "Bar Margin" on the SliceCommander options view. Set it to 0 or something, this solved it for me.
There's no editbox viewable for it right now but it's right under the combobox for Bar Textu...
