Grep displaying data from Tekkub's picoFPS
Grep
Grep is a stripped down Data Broker display mod that channels all updated data to Blizzard's ChatFrame3.

This was written merely to see if it could be done. It may be completely impractical for day to day use. But who knows, you might find that you like it.

Usage

/grep add <mod name> - Puts a data mod on the filter list so that it will no longer be processed.
/grep remove <mod name> - Removes a data mod from the filter list

Using either of the two without an arguement will display a list of data mods currently on the filter list.

If you do not have a third chatframe already, right click on one of the chat tabs, select "Create Window", and name the new window whatever you wish to call it.

I have not used the addon, but one suggestion would be spam prevention or reduction. First way could be for Grep to not print to the chat frame if the value from one mod is the same as the last time that mod was printed.

Anytime a .text value is updated by any of the LDB objects, its specific .text value is added to ChatFrame3 using the format "Object Name: .text value", if that makes any sense.

In another manner of speaking, you can picture it as another chat window, but with the participants being the LDB objects themselves. Whenever one of them has something to say, they will say it and their message (the .text value) will show up in the window next to their name.

I haven't tried it with launchers but I would imagine that it woudn't do much with them as the mod is only concerned with .text values. As such, it's probably not a very useful mod unless you are wanting to track the changes in a specific data set over a longer period of time (e.g. seeing how something like dps fluctuates throughout a fight).

I hope that helps,
