Guild Changes

Version: 0.4
by: Syzgyn [More]

Guild Changes lets you save and record your current guild roster, then compare 2 different records to see what has changed. It records people coming in and out, and changes in level, rank, note, and officer note.

Being an Ace2 mod, Guild Changes integrates seamlessly with FuBar if you use it, and shows up as a minimap icon if you dont.

NOTE: This is still in testing! There will be bugs and features missing!

Known Bugs:
*None!

Upcoming features:
*Select a beginning time and an End time, and see all the changes in that period.
*Export option

It's low on my todo list for now, but it is there. Gonna be a full re-write when I get around to it.

Still being worked on?

I have been serching for a addon that will give me a in-game roster list that will list names by account. We have a lot of alts in the guild and I wanted to see things based on accounts rather then a huge name list. Then after seeing this, it would be very helpful to see the changes in the guild as well.

I hope you are still working on it and ill give it a try

Thanks

PS: got a chance to use it and i cant open the gui... any ideas?

Like Acirac said, the guildlist snapshots are sorted textually, not in dateformat. Therfor 01/03/07 is before 31/12/06 and you are not able to put 01/03/07 as the end date and 31/12/06 as the starting date.

Maybe it would be easier if you store the timestamps in date/time format and only do the formating for output.

BTW, the dateformat doesn't change if I change it in the localisation (the dateonly and datetime string). Usually in Germany we use the DD.MM.YY format

It won't let me compare saves from 2007 against saves from 2006, it think january 2007 comes before december 2006

Great! Looks good so far.

Here is my german translation:
Code:
local L = AceLibrary("AceLocale-2.2"):new("GChanges")

--[[
ä = \195\164
Ä = \195\132
ü = \195\188
Ü = \195\156
ö = \195\182
Ö = \195\150
ß = \195\159
]]--

L:RegisterTranslations("deDE", function() return {
	version = "Version",
	loaded = "Geladen",
	noCapture = "Kein Gildenname bekannt, bitte Gildenframe \195\182ffnen und erneut versuchen",
	capture = "Gildenname gefunden. Viel Spa\195\159.",
	startingDate = "Startdatum",
	endingDate = "Enddatum",
	record = "Gildensnapshot erstellen",
	refresh = "Gildensnapshot aktualisieren",
	dateformatting = "Datumsformat f\195\188r Snapshot",
	dateonly = "MM/DD/YY",
	datetime = "MM/DD/YY HH:MM:SS",
	delete = "Snapshot l\195\182schen",
	deletebefore = "L\195\182sche Snapshots vor ...",
	deleteafter = "L\195\182sche Snapshots nach ...",
	deletesingle = "L\195\182sche Snapshot",
	del = "gel\195\182scht",
	err = "Fehler: kein Gildenname, bitte aktualisieren",
	newMembers = "Neue Mitglieder",
	formerMembers = "Ehemalige Mitglieder",
	levelChange = "Neue Level",
	oldLevel = "Alter Level",
	newLevel = "Neuer Level",
	rankChange = "Neue Ränge",
	oldRank = "Alter Rang",
	newRank = "Neuer Rang",
	noteChange = "Neue Notizen",
	oldNote = "Alte Notiz",
	newNote = "Neue Notiz",
	onoteChange = "Neue Offiziersnotizen"
} end)
I'm not sure if we had no rank changes in 4 days or if this doesn't work on german client, I'll beg my officier to downgrade me just to check that. Hopefully I'll get my old rank restored after that

Now if you could add an "export window" (like in CatchaFire, http://wow.curse-gaming.com/en/files...86/catchafire/ ) you get another Whoooo! from here

Anything recorded on the same day will overwrite its self, if you're not using the date format with hours and minutes in it.

Otherwise, nice work . Looks to be, so far, a FuBar-accessible, GUI version of ES_GuildCheck. Look forward to future development.

Have you considered applying for Wowace.com SVN access? Authors I know that use it find it to be a great help in handling updates/bug fixes/localization/etc..
I didn't realize that about .rar files. My bad, it's .zip now.
I'm going on vacation for a week, but after that I'll probably end up applying for SVN access.

Glad you like my mod, cheers!

Great idea and great addon, thank you very much.

I maintain this kind of list for our guild website using catchafire and some windows diff tools, so your addon will be very handy.

Because I would like to have the results on our website I'm looking forward for some enhancements in th enew year

1. Please add a kind of export of the "compare" result. A new (editable) window to copy/paste the result to a normal editor would be fine.
2. Like Acirac said I also would like to see a function to delete saved timemarks; what would be even better if it would be "up to user defined date" (like all timemarks older than 26.12.2006)
3. If you could seperate the english descriptions I will be more than happy to provide a german translation for GuildChanges

Thansk for your work and for reading / considering our enhancement requests

Have a great,
Stefan (aka Xanatandor)
