Total RP 3: Extended  Updated this week!

Version: 1.2.0
by: Ellypse, kajisensei

Requirements

This add-on is an extension for Total RP 3, version 1.2.0 and above. Please make sure to always have the latest version of Total RP 3 installed.
Check out our YouTube channel for video tutorials on how to get started with Total RP 3: Extended!

Introduction

World of Warcraft has a strong community of players with a lot of talent when it comes to role-playing, fan-fiction, and other artistic creations. One major problem is that all these original creations can only live outside of the game as we can't have any impact on the game itself. Total RP 3 Extended is aiming to change this.

Total RP 3 brought you the best way to customize your characters and companions (pets and mounts). Total RP 3: Extended brings you the best way to create new content in World of Warcraft: campaigns with quests, customized NPCs and dialogues, items, documents (books, signs, contracts ...) and much more!

Highlights

  • Create highly customizable items and share them securely with other people. When you receive an item from someone, the new security level system will warn you about potentially harmful effects and you can authorize them or not.*
  • Place items on the ground to get them back later or place them in stashes that other players will be able to find and open.
  • Total RP 3: Extended gives you a brand new*RP inventory to place items on your character visually. People with Total RP 3: Extend will be able to see the items you are wearing and you can inspect them too.
  • Create rich campaigns with multiple quests and steps, customize in-game NPCs to fit your needs and create immersive 3D dialogs with multiple choices.
  • This is a separated add-on, we don't "force" any Total RP 3 user to use it. That was a reason why Total RP 2 was considered really heavy for casual roleplayers. If you want Total RP 3: Extended, just get it in addition of Total RP 3. But Total RP 3 alone will stay lightweight.
  • The interface is clean, pretty and easy to handle.
  • We provide different levels of complexity for the editors' interfaces (Quick / Normal / Expert). So you will have a simple UI to quickly create simple items, but when you are ready to go to the next level and have the full unchained experience, you can use the tool in "expert mode". All these concepts will bring this addon to the saying "Easy to learn, hard to master".
  • The add-on is separated in two sub-add-ons. One contains the inventory management and a roleplay quest log. The other contains all the creation tools to create your items and quests.

Changelog for version 1.2.0

This version of Extended requires Total RP 3 version 1.4.0 or above.

Compatibility with patch 8.0.1

Due to important technical changes to the World of Warcraft API, older versions of the addon will not work for 8.0.1.

Battle.net friends support

You can now open a trade for Extended creations and inspect a player's Extended inventory with a player from the opposite faction or on another realm if you are friend with them on Battle.net !

Added
  • Extended modifies Total RP 3's logo on the dashboard to reflect that Extended is installed.
  • The "Summon random battle pet" effect now lets you choose if you wish to pull from your entire pet pool or only from your favourites.
  • Right-clicking the selected mount in the "Summon mount" effect now resets the selector, letting you summon a random mount.
  • Added a game events browser to the game events editor. This browser pulls information from the official API documentation and gives you the list of game events as well as the arguments for each of them. Extended custom events are included in this browser as well.

Modified
  • Stash data are being migrated to use new map IDs introduced in path 8.0.1. Some stashes may be lost in the transition due to this change.

Fixed
  • Fixed the "Container total weight" condition editor dropdown going out of bounds.
  • Replaced the dropdown text for the add item effect to better reflect the actual action.
  • Fixed an incorrect label for the trade button in the target frame settings.
  • Fixed the "Simple rifle" backer item not working.
  • Fixed some potential Lua errors with the sound & music workflow effects.
  • Fixed version number display in some parts of the add-on.

Removed
  • Scans are currently disabled in Total RP 3 while we are working on re-implementing them for the major changes to the map API brought by Battle for Azeroth.
  • Stashes cannot be created and items cannot be dropped anymore in instances, due to the lack of player coordinates.

We actually had the same kind of feedback on Curse a while ago and I updated the description there a few weeks ago (but I forgot to update the project it here because Wowinterface is losi— err… nothing, scratch that).

I have updated the description here to reflect the one on Curse. Thanks for the constructive feedback.

"Even if World of Warcraft is losing subscribers month after month, it still has a strong community"
It isn't.
Even if it was, why start with a negative? Rather,

"World of Warcraft has a strong community" or
"Over the years, World of Warcraft has developed a strong community" or, if you absolutely must mention numbers (you really don't need to)
"Irrespective of subscriber numbers, World of Warcraft has managed to maintain a strong community"

Opening up with a negative doesn't help your cause. I'd choose the first or second of those three options.
