Description
Display your Cooldowns however and wherever you want. Easy to setup and oh so flexible! The essential aid to cooling down!

Now with Power Strikes, Incanter's Flow and Stacking (De)Buffs!

What It Does
Each Cooldown is displayed as a tile. Your cooldown tiles are joined together. The set of tiles may be moved around the screen. Tiles may be displayed as vertical or horizontal lines or even as oblique lines. Or you might prefer them to be tightly clustered together.

Features
* Tiles all have the "second hand" animation for Cool Downs
* Configurable numeric countdown display of remaining seconds
Blizzard added a new option for this in the Interface. Turn it OFF as Cool Aid is more fully featured!
* Auto hide when not aggroed, in an instance or able to attack a target
* Can force display when out of combat. Useful for setting up
* Tiles are resizable from extremely small to extremely large
* Every tile has a tooltip when setting up
* Every Interface panel has extra help available as tooltips
* Tiles can be easily moved
* No fixed way to group tiles together. It is up to you!
* Can lock the tiles to avoid accidentally moving them
* Can micro-manage how frequently the display updates
* Can quickly show/hide tiles via a chat command
* Can turn off Cool Aid in emergency situations
* Enter any Spell or Item ID (from WowHead) for ultimate control!

Not Just Spells
This is where you wonder what I have been drinking... From the "Cooldowns" panel you may select *anything* you are wearing or is present in your bags, as well as usable abilities in your current Spellbook. Got a buff or debuff? You can grab that too!

(For certain abilities the icon from the Spellbook is merely a Blizzard placeholder. The actual spell/texture for displaying a cooldown is some other internal Spell ID. That is why this option is absolutely necessary. See Cool Aid's built in help to point you in the right direction!)

Not Just Cooldowns
Some abilities are more correctly considered 'timed recharges'. And some classes have very important self buffs/debuffs on an expiring timer. I have special code to treat the ability just like a regular cool down. You get the sweeping hand and the numerical countdown.

How To Use
After entering the world, type '/ca opt' in chat to bring up the options panel. The Cooldowns panel will also be conveniently available. Select your cooldowns from the Cooldowns panel and return to playing! From chat you can invoke the Cooldowns panel directly with '/ca coo'.

How To Move the Tiles
First check the Options Panel to ensure that CA is not locked in place. Now place your mouse over the centre area of the FIRST tile in the group. Left click, hold down and move, lift up when done. Finished!

At any time you may raise your arms high and command Storm, Earth and Fire. You indeed have the power of Go'el in your hands! Heed My Call™ with '/wdw sef' or '/wdw poth' in chat. Or say hello to yourself with '/wdw sal'. Enjoy!

If You Like Cool Aid
While adventuring, always take the Best Quest option, pickup a great raptor pet with Adorable Hatchling Nests, and use Hard Yards, the most accurate way to measure distance! Taraezor's main AddOn is We Don't Wipe, an excellent DPS maximiser.

Mage Incanter's Flow now included!

A cyclical buff with a couple of quirks.

Blizzard expect this PASSIVE Tier 6 talent to be just that - set and forget.

Smart players will soon see that it can be exploited a little.

You can force the buff to halt at its maximum of "5" which gives you the opportunity to move to another mob/boss and load up a great opener. This is because the cycling continues for about 5s until you go out of combat. So you fire your last shot at "1".

The buff has a 25s timer until expiry. I allow for 29.1 so as to incorporate the time elapsed since the last "step" occured.

So Cool Aid presents the cycling buff level as an icon overlay, but when it begins an expiry timer it switches to the familiar sweeping expiry hand. At <= 10s remaining the buff level reverts to the usual countdown.

Enjoy.

Known bugs: Like any "hack", things are not 100%. If you interrupt the expiry timer to do more attack then sometimes, not always, you will get less that 29.1s. No detectable pattern for this behaviour but I am monitoring for a clue.

Note: Cool Aid is tracking something never meant to be tracked. Blizzard give no data to the programming APIs to facilitate any tracking.

* Appears Chi Brew wasn't working as intended.
* Chi Torpedo/Roll - we seemed to have lost a spell ID (for the special Celerity version of Roll) going to 6.1 and that broke the code. Fixed

* And the good stuff: Finally got around to adding Rising Sun Kick and Renewing Mist, both of which can have 3 charges for Mistweavers taking the Pool of Mists talent.

Smile v2.05 Power Strikes

This version brings an exciting new feature:

Monk Power Strikes support.

Monk players will know that there is a secret/hidden reactivation timer. It is impossible to manually predict when PS will next be up.

This is the first AddOn to comprehensively solve the problem.

For the first PS it will be at the very worst up to 400ms out and each subsequent PS will be exactly timed. No other AddOn comes near that accuracy.

Bastion of Glory is a stacking buff and not a cooldown. The buff has an expiry of 20s.

I would need to add this as a new "cooldown exception". It is VERY possible as internally I have one for the monk's Tigereye Brew which stacks to 20 on a 2 minute timer.

I would assume the Spell ID to be 114637 for the BUFF and basically copy the Tigereye Brew code

In the live code of Cool Aid I already use similar code (just different reason) to display the special Ascendance versions of Primal Strike/Chain Lightning for Shammies.

Edit: Well I bit the bullet. I am waiting to upload BoG, Tigereye Brew, Maelstrom Weapon and Arcane Charges, all of which are stacked buffs/debuffs. Hoping to resolve the issue below though...

I don't have a level 45 Paladin to test Sacred Shield on but it can be veeeeery frustrating tracking down spells / getting behind Blizzard's Smoke and Mirrors.

Firstly the BUFFS. Cool Aid will show cooldowns and not buff expiry. Neither has a cooldown. So the icons will do nothing.

I suspect it is the 30s buff you are after, the one with 3 charges. If you like, I could add it as a kind of 'beta' thing if you wouldn't mind reporting back if it worked? My feeling is it isn't a normal recharge but I have often been wrong before too .

The reason it was left off the list of recharges is that it appeared to not even follow Blizzard's recharge system.

Please reply. Happy to upload something a.s.a.p.

EDIT: Not sure which one to implement for you to see if it works. I really need the spell ID. No pally for me . To identify the spell id, you could paste this into a macro:

Player Buffs

I'm trying to set this up to be tracked but nothing is happening.

Sacred Shield. There are 2 "buffs" One for the shield and one for the absorb, both named and both show up under Player Buffs. If I add both and use the ability...nothing happens. The icons don't flash, go grey, no cool-down text nothing. Same thing with Bastion of Glory...its just an icon that sits there with nothing going on.

Purify Spirit included.

Also a bug fix for spells where you cast them but the CD commencement gets delayed until you do something else. Thinking Presence of Mind and a couple of others here.

Plus mainly code tidying / code comment tidying to aid in maintaining it and other AddOns.

Expanded help / troubleshooting so that players might appreciate why it is sometimes not a trivial matter of just selecting an ability from their Spellbook in order to see a cooldown. That's why the Spell ID feature was added recently!

Also most of the abilities on a "recharge timer" have been added now. They are treated by Cool Aid as thought they were on a cooldown timer.

It has been drawn to my attention that I missed adding Purify Spirit as one such "recharge" ability. any others? Will appear in v2.03 to be sure!

Note that some of the newly added abilities for recharge are listed as "beta" in the description. Confirmation from players that they work (or not lol) would be appreciated. This is because I lack the toons or a toon of the correct level.

v2.01 Tooltips for Icons

In removing my old tainted code I have had to resort to smoke and mirrors to "show" and "hide" the icons in and out of combat.

This had the consequence of making the icons not "click through".

To support "Click through" I have had no option but to remove the active tooltips. Tooltips still do function in the "/ca coo" panel.

The API gives me a one-or-the-other choice sorry!

v2.01 Timed Recharge Abilities

Blizzard have a convenient API for testing charges. Also the implementation of charges in CA was a little problematic if buffs got dispelled etc. So...

The old recharge code was removed and replaced with the much simpler Blizzard API calls (thanks Blizz lol). But as not all the previously supported recharges could be tested (as I lack the toons on my new account) then sadly Paladin Hands and the Warlock recharges have been removed from Cool Aid.

They will be reinstated if and when I get my Lock and Pally to a high enough level.

The good news is that the Druid/Monk/Mage code remains and Warrior will be added back in soonish. Also, the Shaman Ascendances never really used my old custom recharge code so that remains in CA too.

Taint

A recent patch, I guess it was around 6.0.2, means that many AddOns which previously got away with "insecure" calls were getting caught, and this AddOn was no exception.

I took the opportunity to look at every call such as "Show()", "Hide()", etc in order to remove all sources of taint in combat.

Whilst I would argue that I was using LOCALs, it remains that there is still a problem in Blizzard's new raid frame code.

Consequently, the occasional taint message (i.e. "attempt to call a protected function") will occur and name Cool Aid as the culprit, the real source of the taint lies somewhere in Blizzard's code.

Over the years this has been a problem for AddOns. I do appreciate that Blizzard are within their rights to make it as difficult as possible for AddOn authors to show and alter frames whilst in combat. It is necessary to prevent exploits.

If you really think that the problem is with Cool Aid then by all means post your findings here.

A good test is when you are in a quest "vehicle", you finish spamming the required buttons, you dismount and then you go to hand in the quest. Taint will often occur at this stage. To help it occur, beforehand show your "Interface" panel and muck around a bit with changes to AddOn parameters and then "cancel".

(Yeah, testing this.... i swear I must have abandoned the same quests over and over dozens of times lol).
