Whisperme is an answering machine where you can save messages that others can request by tags. If you've saved a message under a tag hello others will get the associated answer as a reply when they send you a whisper !hello (note the preceding exclamation mark). The "autoanswer" can be enabled or disabled, although it's on for default. The tags can only consist letters.
This addon was whipped up in half a night when someone requested something like it in UI forum. Soon after I ended up dropping wow and it was kind of left on it's own. Now that I'm back I'll try to look at this too, when I've got my bearings.
Love this addon. I use it while advertising my GDKP runs on my realm to answer the most common questions.
However I think this addon (although 100% functional) is missing it's potential.
1. Right now updating a message with new content is a pain. If I need to change the date/time in my !schedule auto response I have to copy the whole thing and reinput it.
2. It would be nice to set up a "catch-all" response. Sort of like a dnd, but without the dnd. Basically set it up so that anyone that whispers you gets a custom message back.
3. Detect a failed trigger. If someone starts a message with !, but the addon is unable to find a matching keyword it could respond with a basic rundown (customizable would be nice)
I'm sure with a few more features this could be quite the useful addon for people doing things like gdkp runs.
