Features -

  • An unlimited number of macros, create as many bars/buttons as you want/need per character!

Commands - Type /ion alone to display a list of available commands, which are:
  • menu: Toggle the main menu
  • storage: Open the button storage area
  • create: Create a blank bar
  • delete: Delete the currently selected bar
  • config: Toggle configuration mode for all bars
  • add: Adds buttons to the currently selected bar (add or add #)
  • remove: Removes buttons from the currently selected bar (remove or remove #)
  • edit: Toggle edit mode for all buttons
  • bind: Toggle binding mode for all buttons
  • scale: Scale a bar to the desired size.
  • snapto: Toggle SnapTo for current bar
  • autohide: Toggle AutoHide for current bar

  • alpha: Change current bar's alpha (transparency)

I'd be okay with this change and have one of my own to add, I'd like the cooldown alpha to only trigger when there aren't any charges left or at the very least only trigger full alpha with no charges available (there might be some value in decreasing the alpha for intermittent charge levels to show gradients), my at-a-glance radar doesn't work when that full alpha triggers and I still have charges left so I end up often not using them when I should. I've had to turn off alpha entirely at this point to make sure I use the ability when I can.

Could we possibly get an option to not show cooldown text on buttons with charges unless both charges have been consumed? I'm finding the current method makes the cooldown text too obvious and the charge to small causing me to constantly thing the button is on cooldown and not using the second charge.

[Edit] Scratch this: SLOKnightFall has already got it while I was editing this reply.

TogglePetJournal() has been replaced by ToggleCollectionsJournal()
And PetJournalParent is also invalid, can't find what it's been replaced by yet. [Edit] CollectionsJournal
- It was an undocumented change

Files that need updating:

I'm getting an error loading up the Collections Journal (because of the PetJournalParent being no longer valid) - but at least it loads and otherwise runs.



Now if I could only get my Pet abilities timers to show up when I drop them onto other action bars.

That should be fixed on the GitHub version. I just want to do some more testing to see if anything else broke and will be pushing a official release later this evening.

Command Demon

Hey, just wondering if anyone has tried using command demon with this addon. It's not displaying the cooldown but the icon and tooltip do display correctly.

So you are talking about the garrison ability button that appears in the middle of the screen? That is a different item and not the extra action button. The latest version does have an issue where it hides it regardless of what a player had set in the options. Its been on my list of things to fix, but I've unfortunately not had much free time to work on the addon as of late. I'll try to see if I can get at least that issue fixed and an update released sometime this weekend.

Edit: You can also manually create a macro to use the button with /cast Garrison Ability

Sadly it didn't fix my ailment. I've started leveling some 90's that I have and went to try and use the Outpost ability and that was when I noticed the extra action button wasn't there showing it. Double checked on my 100's, and they don't have it either. Best I can pin down is this happened with the latest update.

Yep. First you should check to see if the Extra Action Bar is listed in the bar listing, when you bring up the bar configuration menu. If not then follow these steps and you should be able to re create it.

1. Open the Ion Bar Config window: Left click on the ION icon, then right click on any bar.
2. Check to see if you have a "Extra Action Bar 1" in the list of bar names in the Ion menu. If so skip to step 7
3. If you do not see that bar type this command: "/ion create extrabar".
4. A new bar should appear, right click on it while still in the Bar Config Mode
5. With the bar selected type this command: "/ion vis extrabar 0 hide"
6. The following should be printed in the chat window:

0: No Extra Bar - Hide

1: Extra Bar - Show

This sets the bar to only show if there is a ability associated with it.
7. With the Ion Bar Config open and the "Extra Action Bar" selected, click on the right arrow to set the button Count to 1.

This should allow you to now use the Extra Action options when available. If the Extra Bar does not hide after leaving the config mode, try reloading/relogging and it should be hidden until active.

Sorry to hear that Ion is giving you problems. One of the recent updates added the use of profiles which sounds like might be causing the issues. I'd recommend deleting the Ion.lua file in the main SavedVariables directory as that is what now stores the character bar info and may be what is causing the problems. Once you do this, with luck it should start working correctly again.
