LightHeaded  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v100002-1.0.0-2022-12-15
by: Cladhaire [More]

Classic not updated at the moment, only retail.

LightHeaded is a very simple addon that displays quest information and comments from http://www.wowhead.com in game, eliminating the need to Alt-Tab when you get stuck on quest. This addon was inspired by qcomments and wowhead_quests, which both serve a similar purpose. Data is only loaded when you first request it, so you can be sure you're not using more memory than you need to.

I HIGHLY suggest using this addon with TomTom, another one of my addons (http://www.wowinterface.com/download...32-TomTom.html ). This allows you to simply click any coordinate in LightHeaded to add it to your map as a waypoint.

The following slash commands are valid:
  • /lh attach - Attaches the frame to the quest log
  • /lh detach - Detaches the frame, allows you to resize and move it
  • /lh sound - Toggles the open/close sound
  • /lh page - Toggles showing all comments on one page, or with multiple pages
  • /lh bgalpha <0.0-1.0> - Changes the alpha of the LH window background textures, so you can see the world.
  • /lh debug - Enables or disabled debug messages when loading quest databases
  • /lh config - Opens the LightHeaded configuration window
  • /lh autodetails - Toggle automatic opening of the Lightheaded window when clicking a quest in the objective tracker

LightHeaded now includes the English descriptions and introductory text for most of the quests in the game. This is disabled by default, but can be enabled for those players that are not playing in their native locale.

LightHeaded supports sending coordinates to TomTom, MapNotes, Cartographer2 and Cartographer3.

IMPORTANT: Addon authors that wish to use this API and data should
include the wowhead logo in the frame that displays this information.
They are kind enough to let me continue parsing their database, and we
owe them at least that much. Thank you.

Thanks for using my addons!

Updated 2022-12-15 for retail.

If that is in fact what you mean (and you're not referring to the addon actually named DoubleWide), then just click the little tab on the right side, and the comments window will happily slide away from view.
Or click the "x" in the top right hand corner.

Love the addon. I also installed DoubleWide and TomTom. Fantastic!!! If you don't mind my suggesting, a feature that I would find helpful is incorporating the addon PartyQuests into this one. Or, alternatively, making this addon compatible with PartyQuests. Right now, I have to choose between one or the other. I use PartyQuests when I am grinding with my 7 yr old daughter so I can tell when she has the quest, completed the quest, turned the quest in, etc.

Here is the wiki page for the PartyQuests addon:

This isn't something I really plan to do from my end of things. There are far too many quest addons for me to add "compatability" for each of them. I suggest you contact the author of PQ.

Cheers

I replaced all ä, ö, ü, ß letters and modified a wrong quest translation in LH_Titles_deDE.lua, seems to work fine now

Uploaded this file , hope it helps you with your work

Edit: this addon works pretty good with LightHeaded, looks like Doublewide and has more functions

I did this when you first commented, and uploaded it to the site. You shouldn't have to edit them at all when you download the addon from here.. Can you please confirm?

Downloaded r165, nothing changed in LH_Titles_deDE.lua, letters ä, ö, ü, ß are still there
just LH_Titles_frFR.lua is modified

Is there a newer version?

now that there is MapNotes compatibility, does that mean when you click on a blue loc. it will make a note like tomtom?

so it will do exactly same as tomtom? 'cause I used mapnotes before, then got tomtom to work with this and then removed some addons for the Cartographer pack.

is there any overlapping going on? If mapnotes works like tomtom's waypoint thing now, will mapnotes + cartographer (with _waypoints) have any overlapping?

I know lightheaded works with cart_waypoints, but does it add a "map note" like MapNotes and tomtom do?

i just don't wanna have any overlapping and i had some mapnotes in Outlands for leveling purposes.

thanks!!

It will overlap.. if you have TomTom and MapNotes installed, you'll get a note on both. Cartographer_Waypoints only adds crazy taxi arrows.

This will be more configurable in the future.

Does it have support for Cartographer_Notes also? And if not are you going to implement that later?

Sorry to be asking but this got me really excited and I can't try it out right now since my game time has run out :P

Wowhead Client Download

I just wanted to let everyone know how wowhead gets its information. They get it from players like us running a little mod that tracks your data. So, if you use lightheaded, and therefore use wowhead, give back and run the client.
