ChatProfiles

Version: 0.4
by: NitraMo [More]

Recommended action is to store your current chat setup with the command "/cp store default" first time running the addon.

Stores chat messages and channels for all chat windows in profiles. Certain profiles can be triggered by the events of joining/leaving a raid/party.

Use slash command /cp to access the addon (alt. /chatprofiles)

"/cp auto" will toggle the group detection functionality.
Joining a party will trigger the "party" profile to be selected, if there is none "default" will be selected and disable the group detection.
Joining a raid will trigger the "raid" profile to be selected, if there is none "default" will be selected and disable the group detection.
Leaving a party/raid will trigger the "solo" profile to be selected, if there is none "default" will be selected and disable the group detection.

Use "/cp last" or "/cp load lastprofile" to undo one step of profiles (accidental group triggering, etc.) Only one undo step supported. Using it multiple times will do nothing (same profile, lastprofile, being loaded)

Includes a simple LDB plugin which displays current profile, clicking it toggles auto on/off.

Profiles are stored on a per character basis. Allows for loading of partial profiles (ex. only for chatframes 1 and 4) but not possible to store currently. Modify /WTF/Account/ACCOUNTNAME/SERVERNAME/CHARNAME/SavedVariables/ChatProfiles.lua if that is wanted. Might add support if requested.
Also looking into storing profile account wide.

0.4
-Added keybindings
-Added option to toggle most of the chatspam on/off, '/cp auto chat' to toggle

0.3
-Added some LDB support. Displays current profile and auto status (all profiles on mouseover). Clicking it will toggle auto.

0.2
-Fixed bug which caused default to be loaded once per PARTY_MEMBERS_CHANGED if auto was on and a profile named solo/party/raid was missing. Auto will now be set to off instead to avoid that.
-Marking as 3.1 compatible.

0.1
-First release

I came upon this addon as a result of searching for basically the same thing Celebros is looking for. I want an addon that will keep all my chat frame settings (ie. Locations, sizes, chat colors, channels) consistent across all my characters. If I make a change to the Officer Channel color on one toon, I want that change to cascade to my 4 other 80s, etc...

I see no reason to do this. While it may be useful you'll only use it sporadicly. The intention of this addon is to quickly adapt to changes while you play like joining group, entering pvp zone (at some point added) or other things of that nature.

Should be fixed, I think... A bit of misunderstanding (on my part) how the svn created zip files.

What it currently does is saving which channels you have in which window. WoW makes a distinction between channels (General, Trade, LFG, any player made..) and messages (Guild chat, looting, honor gains, raid chat) which might have resulted in bad wording from my part.

So to answer your question: It will "only" save settings as in which window have which channels. No color saving or other options (though, might be possible to add, will look at that).
An example:
Profile 'solo'
Window 1: General, Guild
Window 2: Trade, whispers
Profile 'raid'
Window 1: Raid, Party
Window 2: Guild, whispers

The way I use it is I want to have my chat windows in a certain way when I play solo and another way when I am in a raid (not guild chat in main window, avoid general spam in Naxxramas and such). So that way I can shuffle around which channels I have where without having to do anything manually.
