Creature Comforts  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 4.3.0.120
by: Phanx [More]

This addon is no longer maintained or supported.

If you are interested in permanently adopting Creature Comforts,
and have published at least one WoW addon,
please send me a PM!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Combines your Call, Dismiss, Feed, Mend, and Revive Pet abilities into one button.

Out of combat, Creature Comforts will revive your pet if it’s dead, call your pet if it’s unsummoned, dismiss your pet if you’re holding the Ctrl key (or if you middle-click), feed your pet if its health is below 50% and Feed Pet is available, or mend your pet if its health is low (or it has a debuff you can dispel with the Improved Mend Pet talent).

In combat, Creature Comforts will call your pet if it’s unsummoned, revive your pet if it’s dead, dismiss your pet if you’re holding the Ctrl key, or mend your pet otherwise. Due to Blizzard’s restrictions on editing macros while in combat, if your pet is dead but was despawned when you entered combat, you’ll need to hold the Shift key (or right-click) to tell the macro to revive it.

Usage

Options are available in the Interface Options window. You can type “/cc” or “/creaturecomforts” to open the window directly to the Creature Comforts panel.

The first time you run Creature Comforts, you’ll need to create the macro it will manage. You can do this from the configuration panel (press the “Create Macro” button) or from the Blizzard macro window (create a character-specific macro named “AutoPet”).

Language Support

Creature Comforts is compatible with English, Deutsch (deDE), Español (esES/esMX), Français (frFR), Русский (ruRU), 한국어 (koKR), 简体中文 (zhCN), and 正體中文 (zhTW) game clients.

Creature Comforts is translated into English, Español, and 简体中文.

Credits

Creature Comforts is based heavily on Tekkub’s Buffet, and indeed began as a simple modification of Buffet to feed my pet instead of myself. I was also inspired by Gazmik’s Fizzwidget Feed-O-Matic, Nirek’s FeedMachine (which in turn is based on Beerke’s King of the Jungle), and Tekkub’s FuzzyLogic. After trying all of these addons, I set out to combine their essential features into a single, transparent, easy-to-use, no-assembly-required package.

Heh, too bad I have a bear and an Everlasting Underspore Frond... or I might actually have need for feeding logic. If it wasn't for that blasted frond I'd probably have added feeding to FL long ago, or writen a feeding addon.

Looks good though. Who knows, with wrath I *might* stop using my frond.

Heh. My hunter just hit 44, so no Frond yet, and probably no bear either. And I probably would have just lived with FuzzyLogic + FeedMachine/Feed-O-Matic if it weren't for the annoying bug with /click in 2.4.3. :P

Hey Phanx... just wondering if the 2.4.3 bug with /click was the only reason you weren't satisfied with Tekkub's Fuzzylogic or if there's something else you're trying to achieve with this mod. My main is currently a hunter and I was pretty satisfied with Fuzzylogic until that dang patch... just curious. Thanks!

Edit: NM... I see you added feed pet into this one which I think is great! I too have been using Feed-o-matic for that so will be watching this one.

The addition of feeding was important, since not only does /click currently pop up that annoying "action blocked" dialog, but even before 2.4.3 /click didn't seem to work very well with macro conditionals, so it wasn't really feasible to have FuzzyLogic and Feed(Machine/OMatic) bound to the same key.

My other issue with FuzzyLogic was that it had no combat awareness other than "if in combat, don't try to change stuff" -- meaning if I entered combat without a pet, I'd be stuck with a Call Pet button, and have to use another button to Mend.

Edit: Damn WoWI and it's picky emote codes!

As of 2.4.3.8, Creature Comforts should work in German and French clients in addition to English. These are only partial translations, though, so if you're willing to translate the text that's shown to users, or can provide translations to get the addon working in another locale, please send me a PM.

My hunter is 67 now, with a wind serpent. These buggers eat only Fish, Cheese and Bread. Still with food (Zangar Trout, ItemID:29452) for my pet in my bags, my chatframe start slowly filling up with "You don't have any food for XXX." messages.

Please see the Bug Reports section under the ticket labled "does not work" for instructions on how to enable debugging. Once you have done so, please post Bug Report tickets detailing what messages you see upon login. Also specify the circumstances under which you logged in (or reloaded your UI) -- did you have a pet active? etc. -- and whether or not the problem occurs all the time or only under certain circumstances.

2.4.3.20 may fix the problem with not detecting foods. I finally experienced this bug myself (no idea what triggered it) and was able to fix it. Hopefully it fixes it for you too. Let me know!

Maybe you should have kept the logic from Fuzzylogic, because right now it uses mend pet even with the pet is at 100%hp and ooc.
Ofc i can be wrong and not seeing another hidden logic but

Not that I don't love being condescended to, but it works fine for me.

Try deleting your saved variables. If that doesnt work, go to the Bug Report tracker, click the ticket entitled "does not work at all" and read my instructions on how to enable and report debugging information.

configuration

how do you view the new configuration? not seeing it in the blizz options or anywhere else. slash commands are also not bringing anything up.

Any of these commands should get you there:
/creature
/comforts
/cc

However, it should already be in the Blizzard interface options before you use a slash command.

If none of the above are working for you... are you getting any error messages? Do you have Lua error display enabled, or an error-capturing addon like BugSack installed?

Make sure you're using the latest version, and make sure that when you downloaded the latest version it actually overwrote the files from the previous version. In the toc file you should see references to:

Lib\tekKonfig-AboutPanel.lua
Lib\tekKonfig-Button.lua
Lib\tekKonfig-Checkbox.lua
Lib\tekKonfig-Heading.lua

Options.lua

Also verify that these files exist.
