ickd - to do list

Version: 1.4
by: Sjak [More]

About

ickd is a really simple to do list addon. It stores individual to do lists per character and does nothing else. Simple, see?

You've probably seen a bunch of different addons for note taking but all of them seem to have a bunch of extra features on top - lua parsers, graphic interfaces, player notes and the like. Useful stuff, sure, but not really what I wanted so I made this addon. If you've ever forgotten where you put that vanity item or what exactly you were planning on using all that cloth for, you'll probably find ickd useful.

Usage

ickd works using the slash command /td and:

  • list - lists the tasks on your to do list
  • add <a task> - adds a new task to your list
  • remove <task number> - removes a task from your list (get the number with the list command)
  • edit <task number> <edited task> - edits an existing task on your list (get the number with the list command)
  • clear - clears your list
  • help - lists all available commands ingame

All commands will work with just their first letter (a = add, l = list etc...)

And that's it!

1.4:
  • Update for 6.0.

1.3:
  • Small bug fix - can no longer try to remove a task that doesn't exist.

1.2:
  • Can now edit tasks with the command "/td edit <task number> <edited task>"

1.1:
  • Simple TOC version update

Feature Request

Hey, this addon suits my needs 100% and my desires 99% No complaints as it's easy to use and does what it says. Got a request for an enhancement though.

I would like to reorder tasks sometimes so that I can treat it as a priority list and right now I'd have to use the edit command and type in all the info for each task again. A nice enhancement would be to let me move a lower number task higher in the list and have it then renumber all other tasks shifted down 1 accordingly.

As an example, if this was my list:

1. A
2. B
3. C
4. D

Something like

/td move 3 1

should result in my list now being:

1. C
2. A
3. B
4. D

Haha thank you. I stopped playing fairly soon after uploading this originally but just started playing again in time for WoD so expect some updates before too long!

this is simple and beautiful.

If possible would you consider list names, and a way to edit a line.
for instance
/td name File1
/td File1 add First Item
/td File1
Response:
File1
1. First Item

and also a possible edit feature
/td File1 edit 1 Change to Second Item
/td File1
Response:
File1
1. Change to Second Item

Finally, an LDB would be a nice option, the file names would be the clickable buttons, and clicking them would either allow for a drop down or have them show up in chat.

Please don't think this addon is anything but wonderful. I just have a habit of always wanting to add or improve on a basic concept and there isn't anything else I've seen that has your ease of use in the LDB market.

thank you

Thumbs up Thank you!

Thanks so much for this tiny, focused addon. It's exactly what I've been craving for years!
