AutoExtend

Version: 0.1
by: chippydip [More]

This simple addon enlarges the Raid Information frame allowing you to see more of your raid lockouts and adds a checkbox next to each lockout. Checking the box will cause this addon to automatically extend the lockout every time you login.

This can be used to save an old raid ID that you are working on for an anchievement or extend a 5-man heroic lockout to try to make it less likely that it will be chosen as your random daily.

A configuration page allows you to automatically extend new lockouts of a specific type without having to check them individually.

Thanks for the comment

I actually started off working on the lock-out extension and was like "Zomg I can't see anything...need to make this box bigger!" ;-)

Great work!

There are a few frames I have tried to do something similar including this one, but generally just lack the skill to do it.

The thing is that it seems the interface was designed with the low resolutions that we were stuck with when World of Warcraft launched. I have a high resolution and tiny little boxes in the default UI just don't look right.

Including the lock-out extension is a stroke of genius.

I don't know for sure, but it certainly won't hurt ;-)

I dug this post up just now:

http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/th...d=1&pageNo=1#6

"if you've already run a specific Heroic dungeon that day, it is less likely to be randomly selected for you."

My guess is that this would be tracked by lockouts rather than if you have actually run it that day. However, its difficult to actually test this definitively (would have to form a complete 5-man group yourself, keep track of who is saved to what, and then run a bunch of heroics). Even if you get one that you are saved to before you've done them all it still doesn't mean that it wasn't less likely for you to get that one. You'd have to do hundreds of heroics and compile some statistics to be sure.

I actually wrote this mod to try and increase my chances as getting Occulus via the random tool so I can get the Blue Drake Mount. I'm slowly but surely getting myself saved to everything else, so hopefully I'll be able to tell soon-ish if there seems to be any benefit to that part of the mod.

In any event, it still works fine for extending raid lockout that you don't want to have to manually extending every week and, even if you don't want to auto-extend anything, you still have the benefit of a larger window to view your lockouts ;-)

I like it. Simple, yet effective.

One comment though, you claim that reactivating an Instance ID for a heroic will make it less likely to be your daily, have you done any testing on this?

At the moment, from my understanding on how the LFD tool works, it's about the same as *picks up a rock* saying this rock makes tigers less likely to attack you.

Other than that, as I said above, Good stuff.
