Fundamental UI  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: WoD v1.0 RELEASE
by: Shiny <3 [More]

What Is Fundamental UI?

Fundamental UI is based off one simple idea, one of which I am sure many UI builders and designers
always take into consideration, that is to include as much useful information in as little screen space as
possible, it is in essence what minimalism is meant to be and as Da Vinci would put it, the height of
sophistication. However over the years, one UI style has dominated the forefront when it came to
this idea. One we are all very aware of, chat log left, chat log right, action bars middle, minimap top right/left,
Done and dusted, and I can't comment as I also was part of that group that contributed to that UI style taking
center stage.

Fundamental WoD is an attempt to break away from that niche, taking two concept UIs I have worked on
previously and fusing them together to create this rather unique (in comparison to most current UIs) style
of interface whilst still Including well known features which I believe help contribute to effective and
efficient gameplay in any WoW gaming environment.

Installation Guide

OUT OF GAME

1. Download and extract Interface and WTF to desktop.

2. Go to your World of Warcraft directory and remove andback up your old
WTF/Interface Folders.

3. Place the new downloaded Fundamental folders into your WoW Directory.

4. Go into WTF and then into Account and rename "ACCOUNT" to your account name.

5. Go into the newly renamed "ACCOUNT" and Change "Server Name" to your server name.

6. Go into "Server Name" and change "Character Name" to your character's name.

7. Load the game and watch the pretty WoD Cinematic, load out of date addons (not that there
is any!).

8. Login to the character you wish to configure.

IN GAME

1. Type /BT4 go to profiles and copy from profile Addisun

2. Type /Grid2 go to profiles and copy from profile Addisun

3. Type /Raven go to profiles and copy from profile Addisun

4. Whilst In Raven go to Bar groups, select Class Track from the drop down top left,
select buffs along the top tab group below, scroll down to Filter List and add your
own class buffs you wish to track (should already be setup for Prot/Fury Warriors)

5. Type /KuiNamePlates go to profiles and copy from profile Addisun

6. Unlock your chat window and move to the correct area (takes some fiddling)

7. Type /reload

8. Configure your graphics settings again, it should maintain 1920x1080 but all others should
reset to default, same goes for sound.

9. If you're really fussy drag the little AtlasLoot icon around until it's in the top right
corner of the minimap.

Known Bugs/Compatability

1. Breeze is still very much in Beta and can bug out occasionally on certain follower quests

2. Fambags can be a little iffy with its categories from time to time, a simple /reloadui should do the
trick.

Enjoy

Can you tell us where we can change the font from PIXEL to something else? That one is too small, and hurts my eyes! (For every add-on!) XD

you'll need to edit the following texts in the following layouts.
Player & Target
ToT & Players Pet

It'll be under texts.

/sbc
it'll be under global font

/gnosis,
that'll be under each bar under font.

/skada config
each window has a separate section under bars I believe

/raven
global/default configurations should be under there somewhere.

The addon looks awesome, but when I install it, it changes the server on the login page to Burning Legion (I'm assuming EU or something), and when I try to login it gives me an error saying, "There was a problem logging in with this account. You may not have a World of Warcraft game attached to your account, or you may be logging into a region different from the one you created an account in. If you continue having trouble, please contact Customer Support."

Now, if I remove the Interface and WTF folder from my WoW folder relaunch, I do not get this error (nor does "Burning Legion" show up on the login screen). I cannot for the life of me seem to find where this information is actually saved.

Thank you so much, does this als ochange the font when Mind Blast is now ready etc (spell is now ready)?

Also, if I'm using a previous version of your UI and install this new one will it keep my cast bars? or how would I go about keeping my skills exactly where they are etc.

I think that should be in

/MSBT
cooldowns and there's a font changer there (:

and it should keep all your spells in exactly the same place, should be a minor update coming either tomorrow or saturday, just to fix an inspect bug that's annoying me during group sessions. Also going to see if I can fix a few quest mechanic problems ^^

Major overhaul with panels coming Next week, depending on how much time I get off.

Also, would just like to add with your UI particularly obviously if you update to a new version all my savedvariables will override your changed font ones, and as such it would revert back to normal. However I can't see myself changing anything major in art/design of this UI until much later on, so my advice for the moment would be to do this.

copy your saved variables for the addons mentioned below, and keep them aside, if you want to update, go ahead but then place the saved variables from your version on top of the original ones (WTF > Account > ACCOUNTNAME > Saved Variables) this should override my version and keep your fonts the way you like them!

Although unless you're playing a Monk I really wouldn't advise updating till the next release (;

This is a problem with the config.wtf file (inside the first WTF folder).

simply delete that and make sure you have the following settings.

Resolution: 1920x1080
UI Scale: as small as possible (to the left)

I am trying to find a solution to make sure that it works globally, but it's a little taxing without asking everyone to change resolution sizes, more coming next patch (Friday/Sat)

Sorry guys been slacking, got rammed by work, uni, future work & girlfriend all within this weekend (; but got myself a day off tomorrow as well!

so 1.0c should be released tomorrow

1. Inspect bug fixed
2. Bar resources fixed for multiple classes (Lock, Priest, Monk, Pally)
3. Boss mods added
4. Other new quality of life addons included (although nothing you should notice)
5. FAMBAGS! Is finally back (and a million times better than Combuctor)

kind regards for being so patient!

Kind of an off topic question to a degree, but i was curious, do you write your own addons at all, or know how to manipulate .lua files? Or do you just work with what's given to you and then arrange everything into the compilation?
I don't care either way, just curious.

I don't usually delve into .lua files at all, I've always focused on the photoshop, art and design side of interfaces rather than looking into unique .lua configurations etc. To this point I like to think that anyone can pick up my UI and include their own addons, or tweak addons that are currently in my UI to something closer to their liking. As that is essentially what Fundamental UI is about, being able to take any class, any spec, PvP PvE, any extra addons you want, and just jumping straight into game, and playing at your highest physical potential.

There are addons I would've loved to have been able to fix, update and skin for this interface but I purely don't have the time (nor particularly the interest) to delve into coding like that, the addon style is and will always be traditional to that extent, unlike many of the UI's today.

Hope that answers your question! (:

Regards,
Shiny <3

Erm as far as I'm aware it is? ^^ Or do you mean 5.1? In which case, yes to both. I'm changing things weekly.

thank you, I only have a few minor issues I'd like to deal with from a designers perspective.

a) the loot roll frame I need to find a way to make this more attractive.
b) global VexPower bars for all classes that need them (Rogues, Warlocks, SPriests, Pallys)

they are my only two issues personally though, hopefully will be resolved next week!

Unfortunately this would take some scaling, and reconfiguring of a lot of addons within the UI and as such is currently unavailable for any other resolution which doesn't share a 1920x1080 base origin. 1920x1200 and any 3 screen monitor displays it can be easily adjusted to.

If you go into raven, then to bar groups
and select Target buffs then on the first
tab it should have some check boxes I
think it's possible to select so you can see
not only your buffs on targets (which is
primarily useful for healing) but also any
buffs which they place on themselves or
buffs anyone else places on them, there's
a wide array of choice in that respect.

so yes! (:
