BibMod Movable Frames and Bags

Version: 4.20b
by: Cowboy [More]

BibMod was an awesome mod. Kudos to Zweider for making WoW just a little bit cooler.

Yes, it had resizeable, movable, and configurable action bars.. but the thing BibMod had that I used all the time and realized I couldn't live without was its ability to move and resize everything (ok, nearly everything). You could take the Character, Friends, Auction, Gossip, Player, Party, Minimap, Bank, Bag, Buffs, and even the Tooltip frames and move and resize them easily (there are plenty more I'm omitting).

BibMod seems to have been abandoned, so I decided to hack it up a little to make this functionality work again.. so here it is. I didn't spend any time optimizing this, I just made it work "quick and dirty" - so if you have any improvements, PLEASE post them.

Thanks!

- Cowboy

FYI: basically all I did was download BibMod 4.20, tweak the lua for WoW 2.0 (for table pairs), add the LFG frame, an extra bag container for bank slot 7, and remove all the non-moving-or-resizing-things code. I didn't know what kind of weird mojo would happen with the action bars, and since I already use Bongos, I just removed them.

Will Bibmod be updated?

Any chance Bibmod will be updated for 2.1?

I can't get the main WoW window to open with the current version of Bibmod installed. (The windows with the video options, log out, exit, etc)

In the past I've tried MoveIt and MoveAnything and they just don't compare to the ease of Bibmod.

Please, please update this worthy mod. After all these years I still can't believe the WoW UI isn't movable by default.

Did I already say...TY! TY! TY!

OMG! TY! I just came back to WoW after a year LOA and freaked when I discovered Bibmod was DOA. I tried using MoveAnything, but it doesn't even compare to Bibmod.

Thank you for keeping BibMod alive!

And I am using Bongo's too and it seems to work fine with BibMod.

I get that same error as the other posts, but I just ignore it and everything seems fine.

Serjo: I too use Bongos and this version of Bibmod. Everything seems to work fine together.

Also, I started getting the same error as Landryssa posted below. It just started this past week.

Error: BuffButton8:SetPoint(): Couldn't find region named 'BuffButton0'

Compatibility with Bongos and moveble bags

Hi. I have played with bibmod since the very 1st time i installed WOW and i, as i think all the bibmod users, miss it so much yet. I actually didn't know that the possibility of moving everything was due to bibmod and thus i got shocked when i realized i wasn't able to do it again.
My question is this: i now use bongos as a replacement of bibmod (quite fine addon, even if bibmod was far superior in my opinion, especially for the possibility of pre-setting altervative buttons on the action bars if the main wasn't usable (i.e. setting a lower rank spell on the alternative button in order to let it immediately replace the main one when you haven't enough mana to cast it)) and moveble bags in order to move at least the bag windows.
If i installed yuor version of bibmod, which is intended to let move everything but not to replace the action bars, shall i be quite safe manteining bongos working?
Should i disable moveble bags addon for safety as well?

Thank yuo for your patience and for letting us have at least a continuation on our loved bibmod.

Serjo

Screen adjust

Kestrel, have you tried the option in Titan Panel to "Disable screen adjust"? That option moves things like the minimap and I think the bags to be out of Titan's way for the bars. Worth a shot anyway.

The bugs identified below seem to be associated with Titan 3.0.5; disabling that clears the problems. Now to find an earlier version of Titan Bar.

BibToolbars folder?

Cowboy, thanks for updating this mod to work for at least the bags and windows.

Is it necessary to have the BibToolbars folder included as well? I see it is in the archive for this download, but I thought it only controlled the action bars, so it shouldn't be necessary for the hack you've made as far as I know.

My main Backpack continually has the actual slots located well below the apparent (graphic) slots. I can fix this by moving, closing, reopening the backpack, but it happens again anytime I close & reopen all bags.

I've removed & reinstalled, but get the same behavior. Very aggravating--can get stuff OUT of the slots okay, because it's visible, but hard to drag stuff TO the backpack, because what appear to be the backpack slots, aren't.

Oh...and I'm getting the same error as the poster below.

Everytime I login I get this error ...

Interface\Addons\BibWindowMods
BibBuffFrameMods.lua:71: BuffButtons8:SetPoint(): Couldn't find region named 'BuffButton0'

Note: I now use ElkBuffBar for the buff icons.

Also, is there someway to enable ONLY the moveable frams and not use all of the other Bib features?

With the default UI, if you hit your keybinding for 'open all bags" with the bank window open it will open all bags and all bank bags.

After adding this new bibmod, it only opens your bags and no longer opens the bank bags. Is there anyway you can change it to allow the bank bags to open also.

Also, thank you for making this work with 2.0. i went afk from a MC raid to install this when i saw you post it.

VendorBags and BibMod

I don't know if anyone else has experienced this, but I remember having to do this pre-WoW 2.0, and it's still the case:

If you are using VendorBags and your bank bags appear all messed up after installing BibMod, edit VendorBags.lua and replace OpenBag(i); with ToggleBag(i); in the VendorBags_OpenBankBags() function.
