Fundamental UI  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: WoD v1.0 RELEASE
by: Shiny <3 [More]

What Is Fundamental UI?

Fundamental UI is based off one simple idea, one of which I am sure many UI builders and designers
always take into consideration, that is to include as much useful information in as little screen space as
possible, it is in essence what minimalism is meant to be and as Da Vinci would put it, the height of
sophistication. However over the years, one UI style has dominated the forefront when it came to
this idea. One we are all very aware of, chat log left, chat log right, action bars middle, minimap top right/left,
Done and dusted, and I can't comment as I also was part of that group that contributed to that UI style taking
center stage.

Fundamental WoD is an attempt to break away from that niche, taking two concept UIs I have worked on
previously and fusing them together to create this rather unique (in comparison to most current UIs) style
of interface whilst still Including well known features which I believe help contribute to effective and
efficient gameplay in any WoW gaming environment.

Installation Guide

OUT OF GAME

1. Download and extract Interface and WTF to desktop.

2. Go to your World of Warcraft directory and remove andback up your old
WTF/Interface Folders.

3. Place the new downloaded Fundamental folders into your WoW Directory.

4. Go into WTF and then into Account and rename "ACCOUNT" to your account name.

5. Go into the newly renamed "ACCOUNT" and Change "Server Name" to your server name.

6. Go into "Server Name" and change "Character Name" to your character's name.

7. Load the game and watch the pretty WoD Cinematic, load out of date addons (not that there
is any!).

8. Login to the character you wish to configure.

IN GAME

1. Type /BT4 go to profiles and copy from profile Addisun

2. Type /Grid2 go to profiles and copy from profile Addisun

3. Type /Raven go to profiles and copy from profile Addisun

4. Whilst In Raven go to Bar groups, select Class Track from the drop down top left,
select buffs along the top tab group below, scroll down to Filter List and add your
own class buffs you wish to track (should already be setup for Prot/Fury Warriors)

5. Type /KuiNamePlates go to profiles and copy from profile Addisun

6. Unlock your chat window and move to the correct area (takes some fiddling)

7. Type /reload

8. Configure your graphics settings again, it should maintain 1920x1080 but all others should
reset to default, same goes for sound.

9. If you're really fussy drag the little AtlasLoot icon around until it's in the top right
corner of the minimap.

Known Bugs/Compatability

1. Breeze is still very much in Beta and can bug out occasionally on certain follower quests

2. Fambags can be a little iffy with its categories from time to time, a simple /reloadui should do the
trick.

Enjoy

Final Iteration of this Style

NOTICE

The next edition of this will be the final version of Fundamental UI following this style, as many of you know I have always stayed with one name for my UI series and I intend to do so in the future as well with newer versions.

As such the next patch for this (Saturday). Will include an updated SharedMedia and hopefully some changes to OmniCC resolving compatibility issues with certain addons and bugs.

At which point I will start work on a new iteration in a somewhat more traditional style (Somewhat, not entirely). To help provide a bit more screen real estate, as I feel at the moment this is a bit too big to warrant itself as a minimalist UI, something of which I've often prided my UI work as being.

That being said in regards to support for this particular style/package I will upload it at a separate download thread, and maintain the addons and compilation as best I can for those who still wish to use it, however it will not be seeing any additional features being added, and essentially you should just be able to update the addons yourself outside of re-downloading the compilation by using various clients or the old fashioned way which I still do.

Additionally I'd just like to say a big thank you to Meggalo for often replying and helping out those users who are having problems or trouble with certain addons, especially whilst I was asleep! Cheers for all the help bud it's greatly appreciated, if I was getting paid for this I'd buy you a drink! ^^

Kind Regards,
Shiny <3

The new work for those interested.

Kind regards.
I've updated them all and haven't had any errors so far. Made sure to check that none of them had any modifications in the Curse Client.

Yes safe as chips. Only one I wouldn't update is shared media that can cause problem's.
^ That. SharedMedia is fairly old now, got a lot of extra textures/fonts in it named differently to the rest as well, I haven't updated it to the new one (means editing a lot of files in the new one and adding textures).

I will do this however as it's bugging me being one of the few addons that's constantly out of date. Perk of this UI is you can/should be able to update it yourself no problems and add your own addons without conflicting with anything beyond what the addons would conflict with naturally!

Yeah because this isn't Lua based or anything, there's not one setting for fonts that you can change, as the stylisation spans across multiple addons, so you'd have to reconfigure a couple of them. Off the top of my head without going into game.

/MSBT (Scrolling Combat Text)
/SBC (Stat Block Core - all the stat blocks littered around the place)
/Fambags (Bags addon)
/Raven (All Buffs)

Also should add that the current Pixel Font being used is Pixel41 and the current font being used for other frames such as the player frames/cast bars is Condensed 02 (Chat frame is ABF I believe)

I'll give you more info on where these fonts are situated in the configs when I get into game a little later to configure the update that'll be going out today. However I've got a few things to do first at home! ^^

Cheers as always for the compliment, hope that helps!

Will have a look into this on the OmniCC forums, unfortunately I can't imagine Blizz including much in the way of Sharedmedia support (;

EDIT: The guys at OmniCC seem to have been working on fixing a lot of the bugs recently, had 4-5 updates within the last few days alone, going to give their latest version a try and then possibly upload a fix Tuesday 13:00 GMT time.

This may include a swap to Dominos as well yet I'm not sure!

Hmm that's interesting, are you rightclicking the frame and setting focus or typing /focus after selecting your target?

I've been having a few problems with Bartender4 recently, mostly with extra action buttons, I'm hoping for an updated version soon if not I may have to give Dominos a try, and see if that alleviates many of the problems.

I've also noticed some additional problems with OmniCC from occasion as well. Something is conflicting with some of the default Blizzard UI and I'm not too sure what.
As far as I'm aware the right click and select focus is an old unsolvable error designated to all unitframe addons, it's bound only to default blizzard frames as a utility but is unavailable in other addons such as Pitbull, Suf, STUF, AGUF, even XPearl. It does however work with /focus unfortunately.

It's a feature Blizzard saw necessary to deem as only available to their default UI.

Did you right click on minimap and press track ores in tracking?
When I right click my minimap the options for chinchilla minimap come up
Sorry was half asleep lol
Middle click on the minimap
There's also a tracking broker in the bottom left corner of the minimap you can left click to bring up tracking options. I'll admit I didn't know about the middle mouse button though!
