GathererDB WoWHead  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 2.0.2013-06-15
by: Esamynn, dinesh, MentalPower, Nechckn, Norganna, norganna_uploader

WoWInterface is happy to announce that we have teamed up with Wowhead and the Norganna's AddOns Gatherer team to provide you with an exclusive downloadable Wowhead database for display in-game by Gatherer.

This addon will provide you with all the information currently in the Wowhead database showing all known locations of herbs, minerals and treasures. Now you can simply load up Gatherer, plug this database into it, and know what can be found in the zone you are in, without having to discover them yourself.

Wowhead will be providing regular dumps of their database to the Norganna team, who will then update the GathererDB Wowhead addon exclusively here on WoWInterface.

How it works
The import procedure is simple and painless. Once you have installed the AddOn and have reloaded the game, ensuring that both Gatherer and GathererDB_Wowhead are activated. When you finally log into the game, follow this procedure to import the new data into Gatherer:

  • Open Gatherer's configuration dialog.
  • Click on the red "Database" tab on the left-hand side of the dialog.
  • Click the import button in the main panel.

Make sure to add GathererDB-Wowhead to your favourites list here on WoWInterface and check back periodically to see if it's been updated, or get an email sent to you whenever they update it if you have those notifications turned on. Any time they update it, just re-download GathererDB-Wowhead and update your local copy.

Help improve the database
If you want to contribute your data back to Wowhead to continue expanding the database, please download and install the Wowhead client (available for both PC and Mac) and just follow the instructions on their site.

About Gatherer
Gatherer is an addon for herbalists, miners and treasure hunters in World of Warcraft. It's main purpose is to track the closest plants, deposits and treasure locations on your minimap.

The addon does not track like a tracking ability does, rather it "remembers" where you have found various items in the past. It does this whenever you gather (perform herbalism, mining, or opening) on an item, and records the specific map location in its history. From then on, whenever the item comes into range of being one of the closest 1-25 (configurable) items to your present location, it will pop up on the minimap.

When you view your World Map, you will also see the item locations clearly marked on each zone's map.

About Wowhead
Wowhead was created with one sole intent: to provide World of Warcraft players with an extensive database and tools to enhance their gaming experience. This website is our contribution to this wonderful game.

Our user community is a big part, if not the biggest part, of Wowhead. Almost all of our information comes from our users, through data uploads from the Wowhead Client, comments on database entries and screenshot submissions! The site also features forums, where users can ask questions, discuss important Warcraft-related topics, recommend and share favorite addons, and much more!

Updated to support Gatherer 4.0.4.

19 DEC 2010 Updated the node list and have included what data is available for the gigantic changes seen in WoW 4.x.

09 DEC 2009 Updated to the most recent set of nodes and updated TOC for WoW 3.3

18 FEB 2009 Updated to the latest nodes, including those recently renamed in 3.0.8.

29 DEC 2008 Corrected some inconsistencies between GathererDB and Gatherer. Included more node locations.

05 DEC 2008 Corrected issues in the script pertaining to Icecrown, node IDs, and a few more nodes included in the DB.

04 DEC 2008 Corrected Icecrown naming, items should now appear in that zone.

03 DEC 2008a The correct, expanded DB file and other changes.

03 DEC 2008 Added yet more Northrend and other WotLK node locations, formatting of file, et cetera.

Re: Still fail at 97.7%

Klaudandus,

Since we cannot get the error to occur, so it is really impossible to test - for you, and anyone else for whom the import hangs:

Close completely out of WoW.
Download and extract http://dlftw.com/4p96lgu
Open the document in a text editor or notepad/wordpad
Edit - Select All - Copy
Find and open ..\WorldofWarcraft\WTF\Account\<YourAccountName>\SavedVariables\Gatherer.lua
Highlight the section 'Gather Items' including Gatherer Items, all the way to the end bracket just before the 'GatherDrops' subsection and Paste.
Save the newly-enhanced Gatherer.lua.

When you open WoW, you will find a whole bunch of items.

Happy Gatherering,

Nikk

Deleted the original folders where the addons resided, deleted the lua file under the saved variables folder. Got everything from scratch and it will always fail to import at 97.7%

I fixed the icecrown_glacier error to see if that was the problem, still fail.

Still stuck at 97.7

I started out having the 94.4 issue. I corrected the ICECROWN typo listed below and it moved on to 97.7. I applied the fix from the imported file you have listed, but it still freezes at 97.7. I'm going to look through the Gatherer.lua in the addon folder to see if there's something else typed wrong, but based on following your instructions, this issue is still occurring.

Edit: Pasting the data into saved variables does indeed add information to the nodes list, but it is not showing on the minimap, even if I have the settings for that enabled. The world map is also missing this information.

Re: Still stuck at 97.7

Mizeryschild,

If the data is showing in the manifest/data view, then it is available for use. You can either check/change your settings or change to a new, default profile.

Happy Gatherering,

Nikk

Ok so changing ICECROWN got it up to 97.7 after that you will need to change
["WINTERGRASP"] = {
to
["LAKE_WINTERGRASP"] = {
That will allow it to load 100% unfortunately i do not know the line it is on.

Hate to ask, but how does one open the gatherer.lua file? I tried downloading the file listed on the main page and get stuck at 94%. Does anyone know how to fix this?

File: GathererDB_Wowhead\DB_WowheadData.lua
Line 7284:

WINTERGRASP = {

becomes

LAKE_WINTERGRASP = {

Just go ahead an open it in any text editor. (Notepad on Windows; I think SimpleText on Mac?)

The file to edit is Interface\Addons\GathererDB_Wowhead\DB_WowheadData.lua

Find ICECROWN and replace with ICECROWN_GLACIER
Find WINTERGRASP and replace with LAKE_WINTERGRASP

Reimport database once logged in.

All fixed!

icons

I'm having an issue where my "looted" icons are not changing to the circle demarkations as I approach the gather points. The icons remain the ones for what was gathered there. I have checked all my options for how this should work, even deleted that addon and re-downloaded it. Nothing changes. This happens for herbs or mines or treasure. Not sure what is wrong. Please help, currently have had to turn down the opacity of these icons to be able to see through them to know if there is a spawn under them.

Re: icons

Firekeeper216,

It could be any of the settings under the minimap/HUD with regard to inspection. The easiest thing to do would be to go into the options and create a new profile. That will start you with the default settings, specifically the ones dealing with the radius at which the 'inspection circle' shows/disappears/changes.

Happy Gatherering,

Nikk

Deepholm?

It appears that deepholm is missing a lot of nodes displayed on the map...

It is stuffed full of them on the left side (cinderbloom and heartblossom) but on the right side, there is only a handful. I was flying around and found lots, but their icons weren't showing up on my expanded map (I use carbonite). Their normal gather-icons show up fine on the game's minimap, though... What's up with that?

Kind of hard to go farm something when half the nodes don't show up on my map!

I don't think I can link pics here, but I have links to my photobucket with an example of what I'm talking about:

http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a156/Mishii_Fishii/WoW/WoWScrnShot_061912_205219.jpg
Showing minimap with an active gather node, and my carbonite map with no node showing.

http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a156/Mishii_Fishii/WoW/WoWScrnShot_061912_205227.jpg
Expanded carbonite map with no nodes showing in my area, only on the left side, with a handful on the right.

What gives? D:

I've got the same problem, the nodes are not showing on the actual map even though I gathered them loads of times.

It's because you have your nodes only set to 600 on the map. go to config > general and drag the "display:" to 2500 nodes. You'll see all of them then!

Gathere 3.3.0

So I installed the newest Gather with the DB that is on the site, and went ot follow the import steps. I couldn't find any of the red buttons on the side when I went to Config, can some one tell me if my version is bugged or if I have the beta for the next version by mistake?

image so people can see what I see. http://www.flickr.com/photos/77860491@N05/7843047274/
