What does Personal Sentry do?

Short answer:

It creates a popup menu of Players/NPC's by using your combat log, mouse-over, and/or minimap. You can 'left-click' the buttons to target or 'right-click' to target AND announce their position to a specified channel.

More detailed answer:

By using 'Sentry Mode' you will get enemy player targets to appear on the popup automatically if they do anything near enough to you that your combat log reports it. Also, the popup does more than just allow you to target and announce things. It can keep track of targets over time and adjust the background color fade to let you know which is more recently active (darker is higher priority). It removes dead targets (optional) and adds new targets as they appear. It will also update targetted and moused-over targets health (shown by how filled the colored bar is). It can keep track of all damage taken from enemies and you can also add enemy player targets to your own 'Hit List', which will give you extra warning if they appear on your popup.

I like a lot the PvP-specific modifications. The ability to select target without announcing is specially interesting. Also very good is the new ability to move the tooltip anywhere. I do have some suggestions tho.

Would be nice to have the option to keep the old behaviour where the tooltip disapears after selecting a target or moving the mouse out of the tooltip. This would render some of the new features hard or impossible to use because they rely on the concept of a permanent tooltip, so you could also consider the idea of making the tooltip disapear after X seconds, so you don't need to click once more to take the tooltip away from something possibly important.

Also good would be an option to make the tooltip grow from a different anchor point. Me, I would like to make it grow from the bottom-center -> up, to make it fit on my current interface layout. Right now, I have it show up on the top of the screen, quite away from my minimap, which I keep on the lower part of the screen.

Both good ideas. I can probably return the old functionality with x seconds delay before it clears without much trouble.

For the popup to grow from the bottom upwards would require an additional xml file to be called and may take a little more time to code but I'll work on it.

Love the mod. Few questions though.

1. I can't figure out how to move it around my screen. Right now, it covers some of my mini-map and mini-map buttons. I tried the lock/unlock icon but it doesn't seem to do anything.

2. Can I resize the bars to make them smaller? How?

3. What is the lock/unlock button do anyways? Doesn't seem to do anything for me.

1. First, make sure it's unlocked... then move the cursor above the 'Clear Targets' frame (or below it if you use the upwards drawing popup) and you should get a tooltip telling you when you can drag the Popup.

2. Yes, there is resizing/scaling options in the minimap icon menu and in the /icu options menu.

I found it an i'm now able to move the bars. Thanks.

I problem though. Sometimes the bars grow really long. For example, in a group if 5 people, it was showing one warlock's name on a bar and what they were casting. Can't remember what was exactly there. I'll try to write it down next time. Anyways, I thought this was a little strange and made the bars really long.

New version out just now. Try changing the size/scale option if the bars get too long. I usually use the medium setting myself.

If this warlock was someone you were PARTIED with then that's an issue. Also if the name was coupled with a spell I need to know what spell. With the BC spell additions I may have missed adding one or two in the spell database. Thanks.

Hey there. I haven't tried your new version yet but it was a warlock I was partied with. It would sho whis name and a very long bar when "casting Dark Pack" if that helps. Maybe the new version fixes it. I'll d/l and let you know. Thanks.

Thanks, I'll look for that spell info.

Note to ALL:

The next version will undergo a name change sInce ICU is widely associated to be a tracker addon and this has become more of an all-purpose addon. If you need to change any savedvariable files I will post it here. Most likely this will happen in the next 3 days.

New version is out! I also found the problem when detecting the warlock 'dark pact' spell and it should no longer happen, hopefully...

Edit: It still happens, but now that I've seen it for myself I can hopefully nail it down before the next release. =)
