Grid  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 8.0.1.1
by: Phanx [More]

Grid has been continued as Plexus by Doadin. Use that instead; Grid has not been updated since 2018 and will not be updated in the future.

Grid is a compact and highly configurable party/raid unit frame addon.
The compact grid of unit frames lets you select a group member quickly, while keeping a good overview of the whole group. It shows as much information as possible without overloading you. It allows you to customize what information you see, and how you see it. It works in both party and raid groups, and supports pets and vehicles.

Want more features? The Grid core tries to include only features which are generally useful for all classes and roles, but makes it easy to add new features with a simple plugin API for developers. Over 75 third-party plugins are already available!

Type “/grid” for options, or right-click the minimap button, DataBroker launcher, or Grid frame tab.

Language Support
Grid is compatible with all World of Warcraft localizations. It is currently translated into English, Deutsch, Español, Français, Italiano, Português, Русский, 한국어, 简体中文, and 繁體中文.

To add or update translations for any language, enter them on the WowAce project page. New and updated translations will be automatically included in the next version of Grid!

HINT: The WowAce interface for adding translations is quite cumbersome. To make the process easier, you can use the Export function on WowAce, copy the exported data into your text editor, fill in your translations, and then paste them back into WowAce using the Import function.
Credits
Grid was originally conceived and written by Maia and Pastamancer in late 2006. Phanx has been the primary developer since late 2009. Jerry wrote the original pet support code. Mikk designed the icon. jlam added some advanced options for auras. Greltok has helped a lot with bugfixing. Finally, lots of people have contributed translations!

There is an open ticket about the Health.lua/UnitGUID error here:
https://wow.curseforge.com/addons/gr...nit-guid-unit/

If you have any additional information to add, please post a comment on the ticket. Otherwise, please just be patient, and don't clutter up the comments sections with duplicate error reports and "me too" posts. I am aware of the issue and will fix it as soon as I can, but I am currently at work, and will not be able to start looking into the issue until later tonight.

Severe interface lag whenever Mark of the Hidden Satyr procs in 7.1. I tested with a variety of addons, and it only occured with Grid enabled.

I've actually always thought it would be nice if we could set custom conditions and indicators for range, similar to what we can do with debuffs. i.e. if range<40 frame normal, if >40 fade out, if <10 red outline, etc.

that might be a lot more work than your workaround though

There are no longer options for that. It should be automatic. You should not see groups 5-8 in a mythic raid group. (But if you are outdoors, and not in a raid instance, you will still see everyone, even if the raid difficulty is set to mythic, since that setting doesn't affect world raid content.)

If you are inside an instance with the raid difficulty set to mythic and are still seeing players in groups 5-8, please:

1. Check if the same problem happens with a fresh settings profile.

2. Open a bug ticket. Include a screenshot (or multiple screenshots) showing Grid, the Grid layout settings panel (specifically, which layout you have selected), and the default UI raid panel. If the problem doesn't happen with a fresh profile, also attach your saved variables file and note which profile it does happen with.

Raid Size Filter?

I've been using grid since forever, basically, but am I just totally blonde and blind - is there no longer an option to have different raid sizes displayed based on difficulty? I dont want to see people in groups 5-8 when im in mythic and i cant seem to find that option anywhere.

You can assign it to the Health Bar Color indicator to make the health bar change color. The old separate highlight texture, however, is gone. Personally I use the Frame Border indicator to show mouseover.

I know it's probably out of your hands, (since I read on wowace forums about the range API and what not) but this is pretty much breaking the addon for me, as a healer it's incredibly frustrating to try and heal someone only for it not to register due to the target being out of range.

My action bar (Bartender) seems to still accurately track whether or not I can heal a target in range, but grid requires an extra 10-15 yards before they actually show as being out of range.

Reason why I'm posting this is blizz range API change seems to only affect grid, and not other addons, (like BT as mentioned) or maybe I am mistaken?

Edit: In BG's it seems to work as intended, the above applies just for dungeons only (as I've not been in a raid in legion yet) Is it something on my side causing this? Apologies if so.
i'm having the same issue. resto druid. any updates on this?

Awesome, thank you so much!

Edit: Is there any way to make the mouseover effect look like how it used to be, with the highlights inside the target box or does Grid not have that function anymore?

Mouseover is now a status. You can customize it and assign it to any indicator(s) like any other status.

Mouseover Highlight

Hi, I just got back into WoW after not playing since WoTLK. One of the nice features of Grid I remembered from back then is the highlight that accompanied a mouseover over a unit frame in Grid. I installed the addon last night, but after combing through every single option in Grid, I couldn't find an option to turn it on. Is this no longer a feature in Grid? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Nothing happened to it; those options are right where they've always been. As always, you need to check Auras > Show Advanced Options to see them.

Love the addon. Been using it for many years, and I once again installed it a few days ago when I got back into WoW for Legion.

What happened to the ability to set status color for buffs based on duration? I used to be able to display a green, yellow, and red indicator for my druid's rejuv based on how long was left on the buff. Is this no longer possible?

Bartender isn't affected because it's not using the generic UnitInRange function; it's checking if the action on each individual button is in range for your current target. As I've now gotten multiple reports of UnitInRange no longer working as expected on some classes (eg. for paladins it apparently now uses the range of the Beacon of Light healing transfer, which is completely useless for spells you can actually cast) I may have to go back to using spell-based range checking. The main issue with this is that it requires a hardcoded list of spells to check for every spec of every class, which has to be updated any time Blizzard changes the internal spell IDs.

What spec/class are you seeing this issue on? What do you see when you enter the following command while targeting someone Grid unexpectedly shows as in range?

/dump UnitInRange("target")
