Emaias UI

Version: 3
by: Emaias [More]

Hi guys, This UI is based around Graphical (Eye Candy) Appeal, with the added effect of being extremely minimalistic! It gives great functionality, as well as a flashy appeal.

Primarily it is a DPS/Healer UI, but can also be modified for tanks by simply adding a threat bar. If anyone has any questions regarding the UI you can find me on Blackrock <US> Horde; and just Search Swims in Lava, ask anyone if Emaias is online, and they'll direct you. Im usually on there or steam so I'm always available!

This UI is on a 1920x1080 Display!

Thank You for considering my UI (:

Some How To's!

First off: When Entering the Game the UI is gonna be a jumbled mess, thanks to "Rammoth" for giving me the idea to create profile switching; Just type "/reflux switch Emaias" and the UI will become clean! Except for Sexymap... To get sexymap how it is in the screenshots, right click the map, and go under User Submitted Presets, and click on Faded Square by Renaltre, who I also give credit for, for making an awesome looking map. Then you can simply move the map next to the chatbox and click "Lock Frame"

Second: You may notice that if you arent playing a Lock/Mage then your player frame doesnt have it's own weak aura animation. This is a simple fix, one that I forgot to do, but simple enough.
Ingame type "/wa" this brings up the WeakAuras editor.
Near the top of scroll area on the right you'll see Class: <Insert Here>
Right click the entire aura and hit Export to string, it's going to be a long list of random letters/numbers, copy this
Now, create a new WeakAura at the top of the scroll area, and hit import. Paste what you just copied in here, and a small box should appear within your game with an option labeled "Import" click it
You're now gonna have another WeakAura labled "Class: <Insert> 2" you can change this to whatever you want
Click on the WeakAura and go to Trigger at the top of the window. From there go to "Unit" and make it Player.
There, you now have a WA animation for your playing class!

Third: For those of you who have long character names and it overlaps the "100" in the player frame this is another simple fix!
Type "/stuf" ingame
Go to Player, and drop down the options
Click "Text 1" and scroll down till you see a type box labeled "Text Pattern" it should say [name]
You can change this is a nickname of yours, your real name, even funny internet faces like [^.^] and then hit ok.

I wrote a book down there lol... so I suppose I'll post in a new comment.

I have a screenshot here, that will show you that the "100" text for the unitframes isn't placed right, after setting everything up following the instructions. The only thing I didn't set up yet, was the WeakAuras addon, but I will.

Also, on the unit frames as you can see, there is no animaded circle thing behind where the "100" should be. This is showing on my 85 Shaman on an RP server.

I can and have readjusted that "100" text before on the previous release of this UI, however, I don't have that animated circle thing to compare with the target frame, so I can get it in the right position. Also neither of the unitframes are centered where they should be. In your screenshots, they are a few more notches to the left, so that they become centered with the character. But on my screen they have never been and I can't figure out how to move all of it, including the art.

My screen resolution is the same as yours apparently, so I have no idea why it's not placed correctly.

I have no idea how to do it myself, those little circle things I don't know where they are, or what they are.

You're welcome. I meant no disrespect by what I said. I was just expressing to you how I felt about all of it, and what I thought about the UI.

I absolutely love how it looks, it's one of the most creative UI's I've ever seen.

I have never made my own before. It feels daunting. That's why I'm learning LUA so I can make one as clean and effective as possible, like FreeUI, but with my own touch to it.

I tried to find you on Blackrock server, but you weren't online. I asked your guild for your character names and I added you to friends on there. There is one person on your guild that is one of the most helpful people I have ever seen in World of Warcraft in all the years I've played it. So friendly, and nice. I can't make the O in his name, but it's Croxs I think. (it may not be correct, I am not good with names).

I will try again, since you updated it and see what happens.

My UI resolution is 1920x1080.

I do have a couple suggestions that should help also. How about setting up a profile for the WeakAuras addon, to make it easier? No big deal if you don't. The instructions you provided are easy enough, just time consuming. For those that lack time though, it would be helpful to have a profile for each class/spec if possible. However, that's more work as well for you.

The other thing I'd suggest is maybe a picoMenu type of thing, like what QuseMap has here on WoWI. It has a picoMenu (it's called that), it's a micromenu replacement, that fits better with a UI that doesn't have a micromenu visible on screen. It's combined into the map. You could always try to change the skin design on that map and use it instead, or you could take picoMenu from Neav UI and apply it to yours and move it where necessary. I actually have a working separate version of picoMenu that could be used for that purpose. I was given permission to edit it and re-submit as a separate addon for those that want to use it.

I just never got around to completing it yet. Once I complete it, I wouldn't mind sending it to you. In the LUA, you can adjust where you want it to be on the screen, you can do this while you're in game, you adjust the numbers, then you reload UI, and keep doing that until it's where you want.

Now if you don't use a micromenu replacement, then you could use the addon called !Oversimplified, which allows you to set bindings onto each thing that is in the micromenu, so you don't have to have the ugly micromenu.

No body ever seems to make addons that skin that micromenu and make it fit better with any UI in an easy way. I requested it once, but no body had anything polite to say, they basically would throw it at me, and say "Make it yourself". But of course at that time, it was not on this site that I requested it, it was on Curse.com.

As for the actionbars, I have made them visible, and moved them how I wanted them, adjusted them and what not. I have them set to only show up on mouse over, that way I can have a reminder of what ability is on what keybind. Cause I have a hard time remembering things, so it helps me. There is nothing you need to do no that part. I'm just not able to use a UI that always keeps the actionbars hidden, unless I can make them visible and adjust them myself, which I did do.

I still have an ENB addon that I am working on, and I haven't updated it in a while, cause I'm not done with the update yet. I am planning to update it with MAJOR adjustments, and features. I am also working on a way to adjust it in game, so basically it will be 2 parts to the addon. One that goes into the main WoW folder, and the interface to adjust it in game will be inside the addons folder. I also plan on giving it support to be skinned by various skinning addons, like Aurora and MirrGui. I might even create my own skinning addon that allows you to add your own custom images in game, very easily. That is if the LUA will allow it. I am still learning LUA, and I am working hard on my project. It can be used with any UI, and it works great. The major features people want that I am still trying to perfect is DX11 support, and 64bit client support. I almost have it, there is a few other parts to the code I haven't learned yet, once I've done that, I'll get it.

I recommend using my ENB with your UI for those that use DX9 and 32bit client for WoW. It will enhance the graphics in this game. I am also adding some more amazing features to the ENB, which will provide features that weren't available for WoW before, but are now, to make it better in my perspective.

EDIT: I have 1 more suggestion. There are a couple of cool skins here on WoWI for WIM that I recommend adding that match with Aurora very well, but I suppose that's something anyone could do since it's so easy.

1: I dont really feel the need to see my action bars. It just adds unnecessary space. Any kind of cooldowns I need to keep an eye on are weak auras near the center of my screen. I suppose if you wanted to keep your action bars visible you could move them to bottom left where nothing resides

2: This compilation may of been rushed. And all those extra addons that are in my interface folder, actually are no longer there, and are actually gone in my current Interface Folder. As far as the amount of profiles, there are many. Almost all the settings are viewed under "Emaiasqt - Blackrock" or "Emaias - Kilrogg" I will be updating my WTF folder, and my interface folder within these files. If you look at the Interface picture under the addon compilation screen shots those are all the addons you need running. Anything extra you can simply discard

3: The reason for the Masque folder being so big is, It allows the people who download my UI to have an added ability to tweak it and make it their own. Sometimes adding a bit of yourself can be refreshing.

I do apologize about the mess that may be shown when you login. I will be updating this file ASAP so it is the UI that is shown immediately upon logging in.

This is very creative, but I have to ask cause I'm not use to this... but where is the actionbars? I have to be able to see some kind of repugnance of where my actionbars are, so I won't get confused and use the wrong ability lol... but I do use lots of keybinds, and hardly ever click anything. I just have to see what I am accessing.

Also, why is there so many skins for Masque in the addons folder? You only can use one as far as I know... I don't see a need for all of them.

EDIT:

Why is it like this when I log in, and how come when I change profiles to ones related to you, and the UI, then no change at all?

Plus, why are there so many extra addons in there? There are WAY too many... it's huge... and Elv UI is in there, but this isn't Elv UI?

I am so confused...

I would show you a screenshot of the horror that is on my screen when I login... but for some reason I can't take any screenshots with the folders from this UI in there...

I changed the realm name, account name all and that in WTF to my own, but no luck.

This needs some cleaning up, massively... and maybe some instructions on what to do. Maybe even use an addon to help make profiles load on demand, at the start of that character for the first time... I don't know. But right now, everything is horrible, just horrible. It's impossible for me to get it to look the way your screenshots do currently.

It looks creative, but I can't use it until it actually functions, and isn't a big mess.
