Condensed SpellBook

Replaces the standard spell book, this spell book lists the highest rank of each spell in the book. To access the lower ranks, just hover over the spell and a list will pop up of all ranks, given there are 2 or more ranks available in your spell book.

This spell book was intended to reduce the clutter in the spell book while keeping all of the original spell book's functionality.

WotLK UPDATE:
I have provided a new version for WotLK Beta. That new version only works with WotLK because it takes advantage of some UI changes.

From Version 1.10 to 1.11 and 1.12:

Fixing bugs from reorganizing code.

From Version 1.02 to 1.10:
Reorganized code.
Added a button to switch between this spell book and the original one for mods that are dependent on the original spell book.

The pop up frame appears just by hovering over a spell that has multiple ranks in the spell book. It is nothing more than a list of buttons that work just like the spell buttons in the spell book.

Look in the L's. The title in the ToC is "LBXZero's Condensed SpellBook". Other than that, all I can say is be sure it was placed in the addons folder properly.

But this implementation doesn't work very well for me, in that it doesn't play well with other mods. 1) Trinity Bars. Trinity places a button at the top of the spellbook to bind keyboard shortcuts to the spells, and it's not there when Condensed Spellbook is installed. 2) Clique. The Clique tab doesn't show with this mod. 3) DrDamage. This mod doesn't show the various ranks of a spell when you hover over it when DrDamage is installed. I'm guessing you've just completely reimplemented the spellbook frame, but can you do it so that other mods can still modify the frame? Thanks

There was a fatal problem involving the structure of the original spell book; the spell buttons were being tainted. In order to get pass that problem, I had to make a separate frame to replace the original. For DrDamage, it is working exactly like the normal spell book works on my end. For Trinity and Clique and any mod or addon that affects the spell buttons, I found it is not best to use my mod until we can provide special compatibility solutions. The problem is more than setting the original SpellBookFrame and SpellButtons to look at my frame and buttons but also working with the special spell listing frame that displays the hidden lower rank spells. It has to be called by the same name as the .toc file, or it doesn't show up in the Addons frame, even. Oops. I kept uncompressed folders of certain changes and did not change that to the proper name before copying. Will get a fix out quick for the folder structure.

I have just uploaded version 1.11. It is a quick fix for the folder and the logic error in loading.

Somehow the logic error in loading evaded me when I was testing.

I think I know why I thought it wasn't working with DrDamage: My Feral druid has Tiger's Fury (Rank 4) (and several other feral abilities) that complete replace the previous ability. So it said Rank 4, but no other abilities were popping up. Even though they wouldn't show up in the spellbook even without this mod. Then when I disabled DrDamage and logged in again, I must've looked at some other spell that did pop it up properly. Thank you so much for adding the switcher button. It's ... hardly ideal, but it's functional, and makes this one usable. You're awesome!

I wished I did not have to go to the switch button, but trying to make the addon be able to interact with the mod would make the available lower rank spells unavailable to them. So far, that is the only solution I had.

I was looking for a spell book mod or hoped that Blizzard would provide the primary feature to reduce clutter. So I got impatient finally and made a mod that would work exactly like the original but only shown each spell once instead of every rank.

Unfortunately, this mod might retire when WotLK gets released due to a new feature in the standard spell book.

It's very nice to see all ranks of one specific spell. seeing all ranks of all spells or just none is... blah g i hope, you understand what i mean... my english is not so good.

I'm using your mod in the beta and it's working; however the classic/condensed tab is overlapping with a new Blizzard tab.
