Comix  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 7.2.0.1
by: Darool [More]

This is the continuation of Comix.

Main updates are taking place on curse.com as there i earn at least some money to create this (it takes a lot of time to adjust things for addons).

Thanks to Si63 for letting me continue it.

if you have any bug reports or feature requests please post them here in the ticket system. Comix is a plain Fun Addon. It's sole purpose is to keep you entertained. It doesn't do anything useful but the EntertainYourFaceOff™ technology contained in the package is sure to keep you amused for hours, and you won't even know why

In plain english: It shows a Image and plays a sound when you crit. These Images and Sounds are done in Comic Style. but it can do so much more....

Features:

cool stuff happens on Crits (heals and damage) plays fancy sounds plays sounds ripped from other things keeps track of up to 2 useless statistics now includes a bad joke detector an awesome objection system a drama button for the unnecessary drama in the game (all drama - its a game people :P) now incorporates the Supermassive Fail mod for all the times when saying fail on its own just doesn't cut it (try using /awesome instead of /fail sometime too you'll be glad you did :P) and more.....

A note on /fail and /awesome:

/fail and /awesome are both used like this example:

/awesome say this is ~ (double )

this will make you say (in say) this is [Pure Awesome]

the ~ (double ) marks where you want the supermassive fail or the pure awesome to go

valid choices for where to send the message are: say, emote, yell, party, guild, officer, raid, rw (for raid warning), bg (for battleground), afk or dnd

______

GFX: Venomia, Maidokilla SFX: Random things found on the net :P support us! GUI: Turaka ( previously Si, Florix) Coding: Turaka (previously Si, Zabuza and Maidokilla)

PS: The Way i loaded 'images' and 'sounds' is somehow copied from the Author of the addon Critman. I really liked the way he did that cause ppl can modify Images and Sounds easy this way. the new flash gfx were ripped from the mod Instabolt, which i think ripped them from somewhere else so no hard feelings

On the "More" panel, the items are unchecked are: Enable Demo Sound/Roar, Enable Zoning, Enable KillCount, Enable Bam, Autotarget for Nightfall, Enable Crit Gap, and Enable Demo Shout/Roar Sound. Everything else is checked, and Crit Gap is set to "0".

I played in a party of three for several hours this evening, my level 40 NE Rogue with a 40 NE Warrior and 39 Human Warrior. We were playing in Gallow's Corner and Strahnbrad of Alterac Mountains, fighting Crushridge Ogres and Brutes, the non-elite ogres in that area, and the mid-thirties level residents of the town of Strahnbrad. The roaring sound and "Rawwwrrr" (or however it is spelled) graphic happened often, maybe as often as five or six minute intervals. Sometimes right after a kill, sometimes right after a hit during a battle, sometimes while I was stealthed and standing doing nothing behind the target while the warriors were hitting it. Nothing that was obviously common or consistent.

Shortly after all of this, I left the group and fought Cave Yeti and Ferocious Yeti in Darrow Hill of Hillsbrad Foothills, same 40 NE Rogue, solo and alone. After doing this for maybe 30 or 40 minutes, the roar sound/graphic happened not at all. Not even once. Well... I hadn't noticed that before.

I did not watch the combat log for what was happening there. Throughout this weekend I will make notes of what I see in the combat log when the sound and graphic triggers. I will be playing some solo and some partied this weekend, so I'll try to confirm if it for sure only happens when in a group.

well it is tied to the battle shout buff, so it would make sense that once you left the group with the warriors it didnt happen, have you tried removing your saved variables for comix yet?

i will go through the logic for this again but from what i can see the sound and graphic for battle shout should not fire if the checkboxes are unchecked

feel free to submit a bug report on my portal here, and if anyone else is having this issue, please give me some info that might help me reproduce it

Sorry, I meant to mention that I did delete all the comix.lua and comix.lua.bak in each toons' savedvariables before my game session last night.

So, you are saying that the demo shout/roar is triggered by the Warrior's Battle Shout? I see. That would explain the seeming randomness... it would be going off every time one of my Warrior friends turns on their buff, right? I'll see if I can confirm that. So if I unchecked the "Enable Battle Shout" option, that should give it another level of logic to turn off the Demo shout/roar?

But, if all is as you say, it wouldn't explain why it is triggered when the Demo shout/roar option is unchecked, even if Battle Shout is enabled; there must be an error in the logic somewhere. I am just starting to learn lua and xml, so I don't think I will even try to find it.

Thank you for your support.

demo shout and roar are seperate from battle shout, the load roar noise you are talking about is the battle shout sound, and the graphic should be the red rawwwr graphic, it shouldnt have anything to do with demo shout, the demo shout graphic is blueish and there are 2 different sounds for it, im pretty sure its just the battle shout stuff that is firing

Server: Warsong US
70 - Warlock - Affliction

Being affliction I don't have any burst damage skill except for Shadow Bolt, so, this is the spell that I used many times to get a crit.

For the configuration of my Comix, gonna get it later 'cause I'm @ work now...

PS. If my memory don't fail, I think Crit Gap was enabled (Sorry if it is why i'm not getting the shakies, I don't know some English words....)

Answering your old question, no, I'm not getting any errors with your Addon...

if crit gap is enabled try disabling it and see if it helps, also are you getting any of the images or sounds when you crit?

I enabled and disabled all options (Even crit gap), got images on crits, 'counting jump' bugging clannies during a raid (amazing how funny that was!!), finish him/u suck/Bam sounds, everything the add-on have to offer I got but no shake on crits

I think I did everything possible with the configuration, can I ask you to upload your configuration file to a host server for me download it and test?
