MarkingBar  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v2.1.1
by: silentstone7 [More]

MarkingBar is an addon to help players use raid markers in parties and raids. It is designed to be simple and easy to use, while offering a wide variety of options without taking up a lot of memory. This addon is based on the once-popular but now-discontinued Hatty's Mark Bar, with features added from many other popular marking addons.

Features:

* Quickly mark and unmark the current target by clicking the symbol you want to assign or remove.
* Perform a party or raid ReadyCheck.
* Announce your current marking system to party or raid chat. These messages can be customized through the gear icon or /mb options.
* While in a party or raid, place the raid flare/world markers. Note: This cannot be done in combat, and the flares frame may not function correctly when you enter combat.
* Each frame can be moved anywhere on screen and locked in place.
* Frames can have the icon order reversed or be stacked vertically.
* Frames can have the border and background completely hidden.
* Tooltips can be turned on and off.
* Tooltips can be turned on or off for announcement messages.
* Show the frames all the time, or only while you have a target.
* Show the frames while alone, in a party, or in a raid group.

Upcoming Features:

I'm currently working on:
* Adding keyboard shortcuts
* Announcements for the world markers
* Minimap Icon
* Localization into other languages if requested
* LDB support

If you have any suggestions/questions/comments, comment here or send me a PM.

Version 2.1.1
*Fixed an issue that was causing the "Clear All Icons" feature to crash when clicked repeatedly. Clicking this icon repeatedly is probably still not a great idea, but will no longer cause any game-crashing world-breaking issues. =)

Version 2.1.0
*Fixed numerous bugs and conflicts.
*Options frame now properly hidden during cinematics and while pressing Alt+Z
*Clicking the options gear icon will take you to the MarkingBar Options. Right-clicking the icon will take you directly to the announce options.
*A button to clear all raid icons has been added.

Version 2.0.4
*Options interface has been updated to include options for the control frame
*Fixed announcements conflicting with other chat addons, like Prat
*Fixed a bunch of bugs where options weren't sticking

Version 2.0.3
* Fixed taint issues hopefully once and for all. Users will no longer see "Interface action blocked because of an Addon" anymore.
* The options interface has been integrated into the default Blizzard UI. You can still access the options from /mb or from the gear icon, but you can now also access the options by pressing Esc to bring up the Game Menu>Interface>Addons>MarkingBar.
* More room to edit announcement text
* New announcement line to add at the end of the marks
* New announcement option to add a raid warning message when announcing in a raid
* New option to add announcement messages to the icon's tooltips. This is especially useful if you can never remember what text you set up and what those pesky icons mean. =)
* Added option to separate the announcement frame from the raid icons frame
* The announcement options are now always visible
* The lock icon for the main Raid Icons has moved from the announcement frame to the raid icons frame
* World Marker flares are now always hidden in combat, since the ability to set them is protected by Blizzard and you can't set them while in combat anyway.

Version 2.0.2

* Corrected errors in the chat announcement not displaying icons correctly for non-English versions of WoW
* Added more show/hide options for solo, party, and raid
* Corrected taint issue that was affecting some people
* Updated version number

Version 2.0.1
* Corrected errors with variables not being saved or remembered correctly.
* Corrected errors with hiding when not in a party or raid. It will now detect a party or raid correctly.
* Updated version number.

Any chance of getting this updated for 5.0.4?? Love this addon but keeps getting this error:

19x MarkingBar\MarkingBar-2.0.4.lua:471: attempt to call global "GetNumRaidMembers" (a nil value)
MarkingBar\MarkingBar-2.0.4.lua:471: in function "MB_partyChecker"
MarkingBar\MarkingBar-2.0.4.lua:442: in function "MB_targetChecker"
MarkingBar\MarkingBar-2.0.4.lua:1739: in function <MarkingBar\MarkingBar.lua:1736>

Locals:
DB = "main"
MB_controlFrame = MB_controlFrame {
0 = <userdata>
}

I only have one request.

Make the flare bar go to one line versus two rows.

It's the only thing in my UI setup that is off because it's a 3x3 two row box.

Update

Just a quick bit of news:

I'm working on this addon again, and there should be an update by mid-February.

If you have any comments, suggestions, error messages, or questions, please feel free to post here.

Thanks!

is there something wrong with the packed folder or the addon it self

edit:

fixed it alrdy , just renamed the folder back to markbar without the v*** and now it works

however it still crashes my wow when i use the clear all markings on the markbar
I'm working on a fix for the clear all marks button...and it may end up just getting removed. It's only crashing because it's trying to do to much in a short span of time.

I myself have ran into one issue tho and was wondering if it can be fixed. The mod itself (best way i can describe it) is broken into 3 components...the marks bar, the flare bar, and the configuration bar. The issue that I am having is when you "HIDE" the UI for a screenshot...all BUT the configuration bar is hidden you end up with the configuration bar being shown in your screenshot. Of course this detracts from your screenshot.

Again...great work and ty!
This has been fixed, the newest version will have all components hide when you press ALT+Z or during cinematics.

I really like it but the problem I'm having with marking addons is the inability to hide them when you don't have authority. For instance, my world markers show up even tho I have no permission to drop them. Drives me insane!
It should already hide itself if you aren't able to use it. I can double check this though and make sure it is working as intended.

Don't know of any marking bar that has LDB support would be something to set this apart from others.

Just my 2c
Great addon regardless
As of right now I know nothing about LDB, or how to add it. If anyone knows of any good guides or info, or maybe would like to help me integrate it, please let me know!!

That particular bit of code isn't related to setting vertically, but I'll look into it.
