LightHeaded  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: v100002-1.0.0-2022-12-15
by: Cladhaire [More]

Classic not updated at the moment, only retail.

LightHeaded is a very simple addon that displays quest information and comments from http://www.wowhead.com in game, eliminating the need to Alt-Tab when you get stuck on quest. This addon was inspired by qcomments and wowhead_quests, which both serve a similar purpose. Data is only loaded when you first request it, so you can be sure you're not using more memory than you need to.

I HIGHLY suggest using this addon with TomTom, another one of my addons (http://www.wowinterface.com/download...32-TomTom.html ). This allows you to simply click any coordinate in LightHeaded to add it to your map as a waypoint.

The following slash commands are valid:
  • /lh attach - Attaches the frame to the quest log
  • /lh detach - Detaches the frame, allows you to resize and move it
  • /lh sound - Toggles the open/close sound
  • /lh page - Toggles showing all comments on one page, or with multiple pages
  • /lh bgalpha <0.0-1.0> - Changes the alpha of the LH window background textures, so you can see the world.
  • /lh debug - Enables or disabled debug messages when loading quest databases
  • /lh config - Opens the LightHeaded configuration window
  • /lh autodetails - Toggle automatic opening of the Lightheaded window when clicking a quest in the objective tracker

LightHeaded now includes the English descriptions and introductory text for most of the quests in the game. This is disabled by default, but can be enabled for those players that are not playing in their native locale.

LightHeaded supports sending coordinates to TomTom, MapNotes, Cartographer2 and Cartographer3.

IMPORTANT: Addon authors that wish to use this API and data should
include the wowhead logo in the frame that displays this information.
They are kind enough to let me continue parsing their database, and we
owe them at least that much. Thank you.

Thanks for using my addons!

Updated 2022-12-15 for retail.

I was having the same problem and thought it was a Lightheaded issue. The next day, Carbonite issued an update, and the problem stopped happening - so I believe it was an issue with Carbonite.

Lightheaded has absolutely _nothing_ to do with that.

Thanks for the reminder, I just was hoping that most people would read the patch notes or explore themselves. You're absolutely right tho.

Well, since you removed it.. it's my right to assume you didn't update. If you don't report the specific revision you are using, I have to assume that when you're reporting a bug I've already fixed.. that you're not up to date. My perogative.. since I'm the one providing the support.

In any case it's working now.. except for when I leave the lightheaded pane open and close the quest frame. Reopening the quest frame and the lightheaded window moved to the left.. almost inside the scroll bar. I disabled Fizzwidget and Quest Initiator and still does that. Hitting the open/close button fixes it (like above) but then closing the quest log with it open bugs it again.
I'm not sure how you do this. When you close the quest log frame, the LightHeaded frame should hide itself (as a matter of fact, I don't know how you would do otherwise). If you could please post simple clear steps of how to reproduce your issue, I will definitely look into it.

If you find Lighthead is a little off on its attachment to the questlog frame. What I did was going into the option detaching lighheaded. Then I placed it next to the questlog and reattched it to the framework. *POOF* That fixed it & it looks like the screen shot.

EDIT: When I reopened it was back to being a little off. Though the version I have is v.296?? Gonna try installing the one I see on the page v.295.

I am also having this same problem. The only difference is that I cannot activate the tab to reopen the LH pane (the mouse icon does not even change to the cog).

I am not using the DoubleWide addon, either. And yes, I have updated to the latest release of this awesome addon, too!

Any ideas?

I'm having the same problem as above. Doublewide doesn't work for me anymore (it splits my questlog all up:/), and Lightheaded is doing the same thing as described. Before updating, and using the Lightheaded tab, I couldn't click it again, and after I updated it there was still the placement issue, however when I clicked the tab it would make it fine (also as above).

So I don't think it's a coincidence.

It doesn't affect the use of the Addon, however if there is a way I can fix it manually I would love to know how.

I turned off DoubleWide before posting the first post.. Sorry if that wasn't clear.

Any other suggestions?

It is not attached to the right edge of the quest log. I is behind it slightly and shifted left and up. If I close the Lightheaded tab and reopen it then it attached properly to the right edge of the quest log. Annoying but I can live with it until you have a chance to fix it. Or tell me if I have something configured wrong. I have been using it pretty much since you first released it and had no problems until Bliz changed the log display. Figures, used to work just fine with the Doublewide mod.

Thanks,
Twidget

Abandon Quests?

I have the updated version, but abandoning a quest does not appear to work. Is there a fix for this? Thanks.
