BalancePowerTracker is an addon designed to provide a highly configurable bar to track Lunar/Solar energy, Eclipse direction and Peak buff.
It also can fire wanrnings when you gain Eclipse and provides energy prediction.
It's focused on using the CPU strictly necessary and no more.

PREDICTED ENERGY:
Predicted energy analizes your current cast/GCD and adds its cast time to your current energy, so BPT predicts where your energy is going to be, and if you are going to proc any Peak or not.
Unlike former versions, calculating predicted energy is now more difficult (due to fast switch when near 0 and lag), so it's done by approximation. This means that prediction accuracy is no longer 100% (near 100 and -100 is pretty much completely accurate and near 0 you can get +2/-2, usually +1/-1 averaged)
You can configure the indicators (bar,text,icons,arrow) of the mod to either display predicted or real info.
Also, you can configure the alerts to fire when you are going to get a Peak.
(Author's note: I feel Predicted Energy is the heart of BPT, I think without this option I wouldn't have made this addon, also it has taken up most of the time invested in the addon, however, I understand people value the choice to turn this off. At least, give it a try!)
WARNING: Euphoria is untested and Astral Communion error margin is higher


Provides LibSharedMedia, Masque & MikSBT support:

  • LibSharedMedia: Bar textures, alert sounds, fonts
  • Masque: Eclipse icons skin
  • MikSBT: Fire alerts through MikSBT

FAQ:

Can I disable it out of combat?
You can't disable it out of combat, but you can turn the Alpha Out Of Combar to 0, so it won't bother you (CPU load out of combat is pretty much 0).

The energy seems a little erratic...?
Predicted energy & peak are enabled by default, with this enabled, the mod will add the energy of you current cast to the bar, if you only want to change the size & position of the energy bar, I suggest you to uncheck this option.

Is there any way to have the awesome Blizzard art?
Enable default art module, you'll get a bar like Blizzard's with some options (not nearly as many as with the Eclipse bar module).

Green bar:
BPT is unable to access the bar/border texture, check if you have uninstalled it.

How do I configure it?
Type /bpt, in the tab "addons" you will find all the options for BPT.

Castbar mode ...? When casting a spell, the Eclipse bar will turn in a sort of castbar, still showing the arrow and the energy text. Just have this in mind: this isn't a castbar mod, so it shouldn't replace it, but this option reduces the places you need to have your eyes on (you need to have the spark enabled).

Didn't get any error.

Can you check if a clean install of BPT solves the problem? (deleting SavedVariables/BalancePowerTracker.lua & SavedVariables/BalancePowerTracker.lua.bak)
If not, Can you check if having disabled both "pipe" and "Hide default" solves the problem?
If none of these solve the problem, can you link a UI screenshot, please? (so I know how do you have Blizz raid & button bars configured)

Aye. I initially started using it for that same reason. But then, being the minimalist that I am, I couldn't help but take it a step further and eliminate the use of other cast bars. I love it!

Thanks for the quick reply, not to mention the addon itself, which I absolutely loved from day one.

Internally, it uses energy to track cast start & end, so during CA it doesn't track any spells.
However, I see your point "why do I use the cast bar if spell tracking is not consistent?" I'll look into it and see what can I do. It may take some time, though.

So I'm starting to make use of the Cast Bar effects of balance power tracker... so I've been trying to use it to replace my cast bar entirely. I've managed to make custom cast bars that only show things like Hurricane or Astral storm... my only issue is that I can't make a cast bar that only shows when Celestial Alignment buff is up.

When Celestial Alignment is up, the bar stops showing casts. Is there a possible fix or option I can check?

You're right, this is a minor issue, but it shows that there's a problem underneath that needs to be investigated, as you can see with my answer to the previous post. ^^

Re: Bar missing in balance spec

I've identified an issue when entering & exiting vehicles, did this run involve vehicles in some way?
Also, does this happen every time you log, happnes even when BPT is the only addon enabled? Can you provide me a screenshot of the modules tab, please?
(Also, a PM with saved vars file would be very nice, WTF->Account-><Account name>->SavedVariables->BalancePowerTracker.lua)

I know, these are a lot of requests, I hope I can fix it with them. Thank you for you trouble!

Yup, leveling to 12 fixed the problem Can't really see it as a big issue, I guess you'll live through not having the bar in levels 10 and 11 :P

Bar missing in balance spec

I was having the same issue last night on my lvl 85 druid. Options would not allow me to turn the bar on, nor was there a bar through out my little 5 man run. Had no problems before the latest update. Let me know if there is any other information I can provide to help.

Do you have Starsurge learned? BPT uses it to check if you are a Moonkin
Before, you learned SS with the spec, I'm looking in wowhead and it shows level 12 although you can move the slider from level 1 to 85, so please tell me if reaching level 12 shows the bar.
In case this is the problem (it seems likely) I'll update it as soon as I can.

I've assumed you're going to level that toon, if that's not the case, please tell me, and I'll level one to check

Check changing the bar texture, before, if a texture was not valid, it became transparent, now it gets a green effect
Please, tell me if that solves your problem.

for some reason my bar decided to go completely green, and I have redownloaded the add on as well to try to fix it. Any thoughts on what this might be..?

4: Not casting in lunar
5: Casting in lunar
6: Emptying lunar power, but the background is still blue
7: I removed the background, it still stays the same, the only orange you see is the prediction
8: Same thing as 7
9: Idle at 80 solar power.

Now my question is: can you make it like it was previously? Where it actually showed your progress and not just the prediction?

Now you see how the other side of the bar stays empty there and that the side I'm on fills up as I am building power.

Now here how it's working for me:

1: Neutral with background
2: at 40 solar power, not casting. Notice how the background doesn't change
3: Casting, prediction is working but the background is still the same
4: Not casting in lunar
5: Casting in lunar
6: Emptying lunar power, but the background is still blue
7: I removed the background, it still stays the same, the only orange you see is the prediction
8: Same thing as 7
9: Idle at 80 solar power.

Now my question is: can you make it like it was previously? Where it actually showed your progress and not just the prediction?
