Retex for Action Bar

Version: 1.0
by: sakurakira [More]

I made this for myself and have decided to share it.

THIS IS NOT AN ADDON. This is a simple texture replacement for the action bar and associated images. It covers the main action bar, the exp and rep bars, and a minor edit to the button border.

I strongly recommend that you use an icon replacement package like Clean Icons by suicidalkatt. Do not use square icons with this action bar texture or it will look odd; use icons without corners.

For the future:
* A square version
* Different bg textures and/or colors
* Different end cap (gryphon replace) options

Please comment if you want me to work on these other options. I'm not going to go through the work on something I won't use if there is no interest.

-- Installation --
Extract the .zip and put the Interface folder into your WoW directory.

-- Uninstallation --
Delete the BUTTONS, MAINMENUBAR, and PaperDollInfoFrame folders from World of Warcraft\Interface.

-- Notes --
The menu buttons in the screenshots are from Aurora: Missing Textures by Tonyleila.

Huge thanks to Digital_Utopia and his BLP Format Plug-in for Photoshop. It enabled me to save these images in a higher quality than provided by BLP2PNG and preserved the gradients and finer details.

Any chance you could assist me in making it work, and look good on Neav UI? I don't know the code at all. In fact, I have a hard time understanding it. Which is why I've never made my own add-on, or tried to make an updated patch for anyone else.

Thanks in advance.

My mod only contains image replacements drawn over the actual default images, there is no code. Did you try copying the folders into World of Warcraft\Interface to see what it looked like?

The action bar in Neav UI uses the default texture -- which mine replaces -- but 'breaks' it in half so that only the main button area is shown. Aside from two images -- Interface\BUTTONS UI-Quickslot.blp and UI-Quickslot2.blp there are no shared images. If you prefer the beautycase button texture, you can delete the BUTTONS folder from my Interface folder and just copy the images over.

I designed my action bar texture as one continuous, long texture, including minor graphical elements at the far left/right for the end cap. If you use my textures, this will be cut off in the middle and you won't see that. However, you may not even notice it.

My suggestion is to delete the BUTTONS folder from my addon, and put the images into your Warcraft\Interface folder as the instructions say and see what it looks like. Make backups first.
