ColdUI  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 6.0.3
by: Coldkil [More]

As everyone has realized now, i have stopped working on the UI basically because i have stopped playing WoW altogether.

I feel sorry to not have written here before, there is a lot of people that has shown a lot of support on my work and i didn't thank you enough for that.

I had a lot of fun playing with the UI and following your feedback to improve my work.

I hope that something in the future (maybe another game) will let me do another work similar to this, as it's been by far my best WoW experience during my play time.

See you on next journey and projects.

All-in-one UI pack, working for every resolution, just try it and keep it if you like it! Mess with the code, but i don't support any edit.

Features:
- healer layout available: just set the option to true and /reload ui
- you can enable/disable pretty much any plugin
- extended focus frame available, with portrait and castbar
- datatext can be enabled/disabled too, and background panel can be toggled on/off
- change textures/fonts as you please
- you can setup your personal layout, and if you mess with thing, reset everything

SLASH COMMANDS:
/ch will make appear the help - everything is there
/align brings out a grid, very useful to move things around

Other options can be found in the relative addon config.lua file (or in game if it's provided).

AURORA:
i use an edited version of this addon to match all the Blizzard frames with the ones i designed. In game you should disable all options but the map reskin and the "replace normal game fonts" one.

ACTIONBARS:
just open config.lua in ColdBars addon, it's everything there. There are the same options as before plus some additional functionalities like vertical bars and the possibility to costantly hide pet/stance bar.
Button skin is embedded into the bars addon.
NOW PLUS MOUSEOVER!

About screenshots: they may show MSBT and an aura tracker addon, they aren't included in the package. Sorry, i still havent updated them, hope to do it asap.

CREDITS:
All credits go to respective addon authors.
Thanks to haste, for creating oUF.
Thanks to Caellian, since i've learned destroying you awesome layout.
Thanks to Tukz, i've taken some features from your incredible work.
Thanks to WoWInterface, MMO-Champion and WoWHead for their communities which have helped me a lot.
Bags are a stripped down and reduced to the bone version of Stuffing.
Cooldowns are a "same of above" version of OmniCC.
Runebar is a "same of above" edit if nibRunes.

HOW TO INSTALL:
- Make a backup of your Interface and WTF folders, then move/delete them from WoW directory.
- Unzip the archive.
- Put the folders in the ZIP archive into you Interface/Addons folder.
That's it!

ADDONS LIST:

Healer timers are done - still i want some feedback.

Here's a preview for druid healers (sorry but imgur grayes a little the colors - they are more vivid in game).

Looks niet, a lot alike Quso UI, which is only a very good thing, used the UI untill it became out of date, and switched to this. Tho Im very interrested to see how the priest/monk/shaman looks.

Still working on the frames, since while timers are ready i found (thanks to healers feedback) many areas to improve.

Anyway, another prewiew on the priest (timers will be color differently anyway, most of the times i'm putting random numbers to position the timers).

Found that hp% is better than missing hp (due to some fight mechanics). Also since i'm going to implement incoming heals, you don't need to know how much you have to heal.

The only thing I could suggest about the resto druid timers, is that you make the rejuv indicator like a pinkish-purple color to make it easier on the eye wise (it's a healer thing) and it would be awesome if theres an option to disable incoming heals and or health deficit since having that + timers + raid debuffs all on one solitary frame is too much to pay attention to.

Edit: Swapping the current colors for swiftmend-able and Rejuv would be great.

Swapping colors is pretty simple, going to do it.

I already added an option to toggle the HP text on/off; i can add for sure an option for toggling incoming heals on/off aswell - i also have plans to add the option to choose what hp format display on the frames (hp% or missinghp).

maybe it's clear for everybody, but i'm just postponing release for 5.2 since it's very near.

I've not left the project :P just my wow schedule has changed a lot, and basically i don't raid competitvely anymore. Still i want to play WoW and continue with the UI, so no stops for now.

EDIT: i'm tinkering with non-pixel fonts, and looking to redo player/target frames. How does it sounds?

EDIT2: guess i'm going to keep pixel fonts, they look too sexy. Anyway, here's a concept of new unitframes (for the ones that aren't following me on MMOchamp)

Opinions are welcome

EDIT3: i tried a lo of solutions, but i found myself just making the ui more cluttered and less clean. Since it's one of the focus of my project, i don't think i will redo the UFs for 5.2

The ones i desgined are already functional and clean, more complicated stuff (while a good coding exercise) would only alienate people from the UI. If someone wants to mess with code and use the concept i made, i can send you the code via pm, just ask

.

I'd prefer the pixel fonts I agree with you 100% they're too sexy and minimalistic. The Unitframes are fine the way they are but if you want the stuff I am about to throw at you is a little more long term but if you are willing to put the time into it I garuntee you it'll get your UI a lot more publicity.

- Some sort of way to track raid cooldowns ---- Quse used to use AlraidCD and rather than explaining how it worked i'll just toss you a screenshot of what it looks like http://img254.imageshack.us/img254/1...0312235838.jpg It's to the right of the action bars and the way its done in the screen shot is so minimalistic and sexy that it tore me apart having to pull away from Quse UI from it being outdated because there aren't any other UI comps that have something like that.

-Other than that if the raid frames are looking pretty good and informative healer-wise meaning that they display raid debuffs and indicators for HoTs/Shields etc. then theres not much I can really say.

But yeah I don't want to toss too much more stuff your way for you to do because I realize you're a human being too with a life and that lua coding is easily one of the most tedious and time-consuming things on the planet.

The idea is cool, but:

- i cannot make it a module of teh UI, since it goes against minimalism;
- i cannot do the addon from scratch, it would require too much time.

If i decide to make that addon part of the UI, it would be very likely an optional file or a skin like i did for DBM.

EDIT: improvements don't stop. Since playing at different resolutions and moving frames around can make the hp/power text to appear displaced by 1 or more pixels, i made the options to offset it in the config file.

The ones provided are the default ones for frame positions and 1680x1050 resolution. It's very likely you don't need to touch them but if you need, they're there for you all

Ok, it's official: ì'm dumb to a level i even didn't know it was possible.

Anyway, worked over the lock special bars; i managed to "fix" the bug for embers/shards that weren't updating correctly between respecs and changing glyphs. Fix is between quotes because i made a noob error checking the glyph and variables - hence now it's working fine as it should and i also optimized a good chunk of code firing functions only when needed.

Same goes for class icons (holy power, chi, shadow orbs) that needed some attention since i basicalle implemented them "raw" and never fixed the incorrect visualizations.

And definitely i need to do updated screenshots - player/target will change a little with 5.2 so it's mandatory to update the images aswell.

EDIT: i reworked a little the config.lua file; there were too many things into the layout section; so i split it for untiframe (player, target, party, raid) to have a better management. Don't worry, i commented everything so you don't get lost into it.
