Cordial

Version: 1.0
by: Vansen [More]

Send automatic messages to guild chat for social events (achievements, logins, etc.) and automatically greet your friends on login.

Features include:

  • Create an unlimited number of random messages to send for both greeting your friends and congratulating your guild mates on their achievements.
  • Choose how many seconds to randomly wait before sending your message for a more "natural" feel.
  • Don't want to be cordial to some people? Cordial has a built-in ignore list.
  • Create your own nickname lists for your friends and guild mates.
  • Configure a "welcome back" message if your friends haven't been gone long.
  • Optionally use the first name for your Real ID friends.
  • Send Battle.net greetings across all of Blizzard's Real ID games.
  • Don't want to say hello to your guild mates or friends automatically? Don't want to offer congratulations? All options are individually configured to your preferences.
  • Integrates into Blizzard's own addon configuration interface.
  • Very low memory or CPU used. Under 60KB of RAM and just milliseconds of CPU time per minute in most situations.

Cordial is the addon for those people (you know who you are) who want to make sure that they don't miss a friend logging into the the game, or a guild member earning an important achievement. With Cordial, greetings and congratulations are sent automatically regardless of how busy you are, or what you are doing.

amazing how many people assume lately that every well coded ui is based on tukui...
no, mono ui is NOT just another tukui edit, it follows different approaches and principles.

but it is true, that ui authors learn from each other, and lately tukui is mostly the source for inspiration or an example for code snippets. also some authors look at tukui code, learn how they do things, and use those solutions in their own ui....
sorry for ranting, i just can't stand seeing something that's unique to be claimed as using tukui as base -.-

First, thank you for the compliments. I worked hard to make it simple for the user, yet still flexible and powerful enough to be useful.

I learned long ago that software development is full of bizarre, makes-no-sense, interactions. I'll be downloading TukUI shortly, and will be seeing if I can figure out the makes-no-sense interaction here. Cordial, at its core, just looks at the chat frame for text "triggers." When it trigger happens, it does something. I don't touch the unit frames or anything to do with unit frames because, well, why would I?

Yet, it appears there's an undeniable conflict between TukUI and Cordial. I have a couple of thoughts, and hopefully I can get it resolved.

Thank you for the feedback.

Love the simplicity of this, I like the customization options and the ability to set nick names for a number of toons.

However for some reason this mod does not play nicely with TukUI.
Namely it screws up the unit frames to so that party and player simply do not even appear.

I thought it was odd but I tested with ONLY Cordial and TukUI running (no other add-ons) and disabling Cordial fixed the issue with TukUI.
Just a heads up, no error messages or anything.

Thanks anyway mate.
