Dominos  Updated less than 3 days ago!  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 10.2.26
by: Tuller [More]

Dominos is an action bar addon intended to do the following:

  • Reuse as much standard blizzard action button code as possible.
  • Contain a relatively minimal feature set
  • Be easy to use
  • Be stable

It includes the following features:
  • 10 action bars, pet, class, menu, and bag bars. Each one has customizable settings for padding, spacing, columns, scale, and opacity.
  • A movable experience/reputation bar.
  • Customizable paging. You can switch pages on: action bar pages, modifier keys, forms, and targeting.
  • Customizable show states. You can tell your bar under which macro options to show, and at what opacity.
  • Fading bars. You can set your bars to fade out to a certain opacity when not moused over.
  • The ability to customize showing empty buttons or not
  • Masque support
  • LibKeyBound support
  • Sticky frames (FlyPaper)
  • The ability to move buttons in combat
  • A movable casting bar (optional)
  • Configurable right click targeting
  • Configurable self cast key settings
  • Configurable Possess/Override/Vehicle Bar support

...and will probably not end up with the following:
  • A stats bar
  • A minimap bar
  • True variable length bars

Here's how you use it:
  • To see the current list of slash commands, type /dom ? or /dominos ?
  • To open up the options menu, either go into interface options, or type /dom
  • To move bars around, either go into the options menu and press the "Enter Config Mode" button, or type /dom lock
  • To bind keys, enter binding mode via /kb or /keybound, or press the "Enter Binding Mode" button in the options menu.
  • Hold down alt while moving a bar to disable sticky bars

...and this is why I wrote it:
  • I have significantly less time to code now than I did previously. Dominos is intended to be easier to maintain.
  • I wanted to see how much I could do while maintaining compatibility with the standard action button code.
  • I'm not entirely happy with the direction I took with Bongos3. I added features that I do not see myself using personally, and thus feel that those features will be neglected and bug ridden.

You can use the following to add extra functionality:
  • tullaRange - Colors action buttons red when out of range
  • OmniCC - Adds cooldown count text
  • Masque - Allows you to change the look of buttons
  • AdiButtonAuras - Adds buff and debuff highlighting + duration text

THIS IS A MAJOR BREAKING UPDATE

Action Buttons in retail are no longer derived from ActionBarButtonTemplate. The behavior in classic should be about the same as it was before.

Benefits:
  • You'll (hopefully) no longer see cases where action buttons would randomly stop working when switching zones.
  • Generally action button behavior should be more consistent across all action buttons

Drawbacks:
  • Press and hold casting is no longer supported. (This is an API limitation of using completely custom action buttons)
  • Addons that modify the stock action won't just work with Dominos anymore. They'll need to code in their own support (sorry).

Other Changes:
  • (Retail) Out of range coloring is now builtin
  • (Retail) Spell activation glows can now be disabled. They're also a bit less dramatic.

Vehicle UI

Hi, I posted on the Dominos Beta page a couple weeks ago about the decision to remove the Dominos Vehicle / Possess buttons and use the Blizzard ones instead.

This is really an issue for everybody I know that uses Dominos. Basically, it covers up everybody's other UI parts and they can't see unit frames, chat, minimap, etc, and they all hate it. A few even said the same thing I did, "I use a button addon because I don't want the Blizzard ones".

I came up with a solution that isn't too bad, and should make your work a little easier.

I added these 2 lines to a custom addon of mine:
Code:
OverrideActionBar:SetScale(0.6)
OverrideActionBar:SetPoint("BOTTOM", 0, 284)
That scales the damn obnoxious thing down some, and moves it up above where my regular bars are so it doesn't interfere with other UI parts. Here is an image with my normal buttons, and then the vehicle UI:

It's kinda nice now in some ways, but only problem left is that Dominos is hiding all the normal buttons, which I still need.

Basically I think if you were to include a config frame for the Possess/Vehicle/Override/PetBattle frame to set the scale and move it (like the other bars have), and have options to show or hide the Dominos buttons while the alternate UIs are active (like you mentioned before), it should be acceptable for most people. I think this would even be better than the way it was before where you had to page the possess/vehicle buttons to one of your normal bars.

Thanks for your time and work. I really, really, really, don't want to have to switch to another button addon, as none of them can do what I do with Dominos. I even have a very complicated addon I made that works alongside the standard Blizzard bars or any button addon that uses the Blizzard button code (but Dominos is the only one that does). It enhances the buttons in many ways, with extensive skinning options, highlighting, and other cool things. It's almost ready for release, just have to finish a few minor things and redo the artwork when i get time.

@lewal:
Dominos_BuffTimes isn't a core Dominos module, and therefore isn't supported by me.

@Partha:
5.0.14 adds the following new options:
* Use Blizzard Override UI (global)
* Show With Override UI (per bar, enabled only on the roll bar by default)
* Show With Pet Battle UI (per bar, enabled only on the roll bar by default)

I know it doesn't help with moving the override ui/pet battle ui, but its a start :P

@alanm26:
This is fixed with 5.0.13+

@sosta, Grello:
I'm still unable to reproduce the issue, even with your bindings files. What OS + region are you running WoW with?

@tralkar:
That is fixed with 5.0.12+

@Tonyleila:
5.0.11+ handles the menu button placement error.
5.0.14 adds a new option to use a Dominos bar for override ui stuff.

Oh come on... so this was actually the author's decision to remove this functionality? I thought it was a bug and have been dowloading every new version and hoping to get this fixed. I just can't live with this crappy blizzard vehicle UI, I need the buttons to change to my dominos bars...

I have been a die hard supporter and fan of Dominos since it was first released. Since this new change to leave out the posses functionality I have moved to Bartender4 which does support such functionality.

I "might" move back to Dominos if this is fixed but until then I have to use something else or every time the possess window pops up I lose half my UI.

Win 7 ultimate using the US version of Wow. When i bound my keys i used the "character specific key bindings" option.

Do a quest in dark moon that forces the possess bar, once that bar is gone none of they keys in bar 1 are usable until a /reload .

The problem is in specific buttons. no matter what you bind to them they won't work. For example it's button #4 on my hunter, button #5 on my rogue, button #3 on my shaman while on my dk all bar1 keys work fine. It's really hard to pin down the problem

Has anyone else had a problem with keys getting 'stuck' if you press them either too often or maybe too fast? I have '1' bound to a cast sequence macro and if I run without Dominos, it works fine. With Dominos at some random time the button 'sticks' and will not fire again until I press another key.

It's very strange, and it took me forever to track down because I thought it was a problem with the macro.

@tralkar:
Are you still getting the issue?
Were you using the Blizzard vehicle ui?

@Grello:
Try Bartender4 and see if you have the same issue. Since we use the same backend for keybindings, it can help me isolate it to Dominos.
