SMArtPad

Version: 0.9.3.12
by: Panner [More]

Description

SMArtPad (Strategic Mapping with ArtPad) is an addon for raiders to plan encounters. It allows you to draw freely on an underlay of a boss' room map and everyone in the raid will see the drawing, as long as they have this addon.

This addon is a modification of the original ArtPad by Dust-TuralyonUS, which can be found at
http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info8162-ArtPad.html.

Version x.12 includes these maps:
ICC: Every boss encounter except Gunship
Ruby Sanctum: Halion

-----------------------------------------------------------

Notes

This version is not compatible with older versions. People with an older version of SMArtPad installed will not receive lines or texts that you draw.

The map for Halion has several problems. The colors aren't right, there's a white line at the bottom, and I switched the placement of two trees. This map will get updated once the dungeon goes live. If the mini-bosses prove to be challenging encounters I will add maps for those as well.

=== Version 0.9.3.12 ===

-Text preview. When placing a text, a sample will snap to the mouse cursor and
show you what the result will look like.

-Added adjustable font size. Scroll mouse wheel when placing a text to change
the font size.

-New map: Halion of the Ruby Sanctum

-Updated map: Sindragosa

-Savefile format changes. This version is compatible with older saves, future
versions will not be. To convert your old save files, simply load them and
re-save. You will see the letter 'B' by the new save file, indicating that the
file has the current format.

-Added possibility of disabling all SMArtPad key overrides. Use '/smap keys'
or bind a button as usual.

-Bugfixes: The 'hitbox' of texts no longer depends on main window scaling.

=== Version 0.9.2.11 ===

-Better save system. Press 'S' to save the current image. Press 'F' to see a
list of previously saved images. Click any file in the list to load it (your
current image will be lost!) or Ctrl-click a file to delete it. Your save files
from older versions of SMArtPad will be lost, although if you're familiar with
addon management you can probably figure out how to import them.

-New LocalClear function. Pressing 'L' clears your own canvas without affecting
anyone else.

-New maps for Marrowgar and Deathbringer Saurfang. These were made from in-game
screenshots and therefore don't look like garbage.

-Main window scaling. The main window can be resized by pressing Numpad plus
and Numpad minus.

-Slightly cleaner code, resulting in a little better memory usage.

-Bugfixes: Colors are now always correct in save files, raid members erasing
your lines now doesn't cause error message.

SMArtPad no longer updating

I'd like to inform everyone that I will no longer be updating SMArtPad since I'm cancelling my WoW account. No planned updates (maps, features, code optimizations) will be released.

If anyone wants to pick up the torch and carry on, you have my blessing.

For those interested, the straw that broke this camel's back was the upcoming inclusion of real name on the forums. I can't give one more cent to a company that acts like this, time to vote with my wallet.

Hello and congratulations for this addon.
Is it possible to incorporate the original map of the dungeon?
and the icon of the games (Tank, Heal ,DPS), as the research group?
thank you

There is indeed. '/smap adminonly' will make your client completely stop listening to traffic from people without a rank of assist or leader.

However, this function is a remainder from ArtPad, and while I haven't deleted it from the code, I haven't made sure to support it either. I looked through the code and it should work just fine, but I can't guarantee it as I haven't tested it myself.

Let me know if you run into any problems, and I'll look into it.

Keys F1-F4 saves your current picture (including underlay). Keys 1-4 loads previously saved pictures. The picture is not automatically sent to raid when loaded, press B to broadcast it.

A more elegant save system is on the to-do list, the current four save slots per person doesn't really cut it.

You made reference to the map images you were using being sub-quality. My suggestion is to talk to the people that work on Atlas. Many people there export beautiful high quality images of landscapes, specifically instances and boss areas, they might be able to provide a higher quality alternative.
That's not a bad idea, I'll check it out.
