GearCheck (InventoryOnPar)  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 13.24
by: ggman [More]

This is an enhanced version of the InventoryOnPar addon originally programmed by Pericles.
** Please note that this will overwrite the original add-on if you have it. **

This addon inspects and captures players current gear and raid stats providing you with a quick way to assess and rate players gear. Players gear and stats are recorded for later inspection. You can also use this as a tool to inspect and rate players on your server, or in your guild, party, or raid.

Stats include gear score, raid score, and average item level.

This is also a handy tool for loot committees. You can quickly view equipped items for a given slot for all players in a raid. A command line function provides the loot committee with a sorted list of best candidates for a particular loot item. It attempts (I'm still working on this!) to determine which player would get the most overall improvement for a given loot item.

A reporting function was added so that you can report gear scores out in chat.

You can see the score of others when you target them. It stores these scores in a table you can view with /iop show. You can view and set the options using /iop options. If you have Titan Bar or FuBar installed you can view your score and get access to the table and options forms by clicking on the Titan Bar or FuBar score.

It also shows a "paper doll" character sheet similar to your regular character sheet except the borders of the of your equiped inventory item icons are colour coded by comparing your current level with the ITEM Level (note NOT minimum level) of your equiped items. It also shows a colour coded Item Level indicator in various game tooltips. Plus if you use Titan you can see your overall on par "score" on your titan panel.

The idea is that you click a button on your character sheet or click on the Titan Panel or FuBar item and get instant feedback on what slot is out of date and ought to be replaced. The colour coding helps this as you can instantly see grey and green items as candidates for replacement. Note just because an item is grey or green doesn't mean that you must replace it. You may prefer your grey/green item's balance of stats to higher level items that are available. So do remember its a guide not an instruction :-)

The scale is the usual Grey/Green/Yellow/Orange/Red, as follows :

Grey - at least 5 lvls below yours (aka why are you wearing/using that rubbish)
Green - 2 to 4 lvls below yours (aka you should think about upgrading that bit of kit)
Yellow - one lvl below to one lvl above yours (aka suitable for your character level)
Orange - 2 to 4 lvls above yours (aka nice bit of kit you've got there)
Red - 5 or more lvls above yours (aka thats a bit special isn't it)

Also White - Item slot empty; and Blue - Item not recognised or not in item cache (marked as unsafe).

This idea has been extended to cover tooltips so hopefully all game tooltips should now show an items actual level colour coded according to how appropriate the items level is for your character. This works in auction houses, in quest rewards, trade and should work just the same in need/greed rolls too.

The "score" feature simply sums the difference in levels between your equiped items and your level. It gives a default score for uncommon (green) items and adds a bonus for rare items (blue), epic (purple), legendary (orange) or artifact items. The idea is to give an overall measure of how good your kit is. At very low levels your score will change rapidly as you get equipment but it should soon settle down. You should aim to always keep the number as high as possible, the higher it is the better equipped you are. Every time you level up your score will also change as the score is relative to how good the kit is for your level.

You can view the log by typing

/iop show

on the command line or by right clicking on you Titan Bar or FuBar addin.

With the UI display form you can view the scores of players you have captured data of this shows their level, class, guild, date recorded and score. You can sort by any of these columns by clicking on the column title. When you left click on a players name it opens the Paper Doll character sheet and shows the players character sheet as it was when you captured it. This allows you to inspect someone at leisure simply by targeting them. You can view their kit days or weeks later although there is a protection mechanism to prevent a disconnect if you were to view items that the server hadn't seen since a reset.

It has been used extensively as a raiding equipment check tool by numerous guilds. The idea being the the scores give a guide as to how good someones kit is, and if their kit is not up to scratch they can see what needs upgrading. Various guilds adopt different minimum kit levels to raid a particular instance. For example a score of 250 is a common figure seen as a minimum score to raid Karazhan, and 400 to raid Gruul's Lair. This is not hard and fast scores but guide figures set by guild leaders. The idea being that a raid leader can leave out of a raid someone who's kit is just not up to scratch in favour of someone who is more likely to assist the raid. As such this is quite a useful and powerful tool for raid leaders.
In groups and in a raid there are two additional commands :

/iop scan

This command scans everyone within inspect range in your raid or your party. Thus saving you having to manually click on each individual. The results are stored in your IOP table so you can view them at leisure later.

/iop loot [itemLink]
Attempts to provide a list of the best candidates (of players in a party or raid) for a given item. You can also Alt-Click on an item to get this list. I need to update for Tier9 items.

Note: The Raid Score is the count of different WotLK raid bosses killed.
It is in the form of XX.YYY
where XX is the count of different WotLK bosses a player has killed and YYY is the total number of Uld/ToC/ICC boss kills (capped at 999).

There are currently 155 WotLK bosses.
16 - Heroic Dungeon End Bosses (not counted in total raid kills).
18 - Naxx level bosses (inc regular Maly, OS, and Archavon).
19 - Heroic Naxx level bosses (inc. heroic Maly, OS, Archavon, and Onyxia).
15 - Ulduar10 level bosses (inc Emalon10).
15 - Ulduar25 level bosses (inc Emalon25).
11 - ToC10 level bosses (5 reg + 5 heroic+ Koralon)
11 - ToC25 level bosses (5 reg + 5 heroic + Koralon)
25 - ICC10 level bosses (12 reg + 12 heroic + Torvon10)
25 - ICC25 level bosses (12 reg + 12 heroic + Torvon25)

so a "perfect" raid score would be 155.999 (all 101 WotLK bosses down and 999+ total kills).
and a noob score would look like 1.001 (1 boss down. 1 total kill).

13.10
- a few bug fixes
- add /iop scan
- show all elgible for cloth backs /iop loot option

I've gotten this error for the last week:

...ns\Blizzard_AchievementUI\Blizzard_AchievementUI.lua:566: Usage: GetCategoryNumAchievements(categoryID):
...ns\Blizzard_AchievementUI\Blizzard_AchievementUI.lua:566: in function `AchievementFrameComparison_UpdateStatusBars':
...ns\Blizzard_AchievementUI\Blizzard_AchievementUI.lua:2374: in function <...ns\Blizzard_AchievementUI\Blizzard_AchievementUI.lua:2371>:

This one shows up the first time i press the IoP-button after logging in, after that it doesn't show.

I'm guessing it's due to me using UrbanAchiever that also shows statistics, maybe it's just that it shows it different than Blizzards achievement UI.
Just thought i'd post it, thanks for your work!

Edit: Got another one:

[2009/10/09 08:10:43-2725-x25]: InventoryOnPar-13.23\InventoryOnParUI.lua:428: attempt to index field 'statList' (a nil value)
<string>:"*:OnEnter":1: in function <[string "*:OnEnter"]:1>

Neither of these errors break anything from what i can tell though.

Error

Hi,

I get the following error:

".../InventoryOnPar.lua Line 714: attempt to index global 'IOP_PaperDollFrame' (a nil value)"

This seems to happen random...I have had it pop-up when I got on a mount, when I opened my profession window, etc...

Thanks,
BJR

Could you add a minimap button to bring up the "/iop show" window? That would be nice instead of always having to type it.

V 13.20

Updated to work with 3.2.

I have NOT yet added the new TOC bosses to the raid score but that shouldn't be a big deal.

PLEASE FIX THIS.... The raid boss kill information is invaluable with all the scrubs able to get good gear.

AFK

I guess this addon is still broken and the author is AFK. He does not respond or give us any update information.

It is a shame for it is a great tool for checking guild members equipment for raids or pug groups. I have left pugs due to players being in the raid that are barely equiped enough to run a heroic dungeon. Helps prevent you from getting saved to a raid that does not have a chance to complete the instance.

When I learned that someone had taken the original IOP and continued it, I was excited, thinking that finally I could have the mod working the way it should, including the gems socketed in items on inspected characters. Imagine my dismay when I found that the new author has added features but not bothered to fix a major problem affecting the usefulness of the addon.

Epic fail imo.

iop fu

You must have the fubar addon installed to use iopfu.
It should load automatically once you have that.

Note that iopfu isn't necessary. You can always just type /iop show
