Overachiever .71 Fan Patch for WoW 5.3

Version: 0.71
by: help137 [More]

This is a patch to Over Achiever 0.71. You must have the original installed to use this.

This patches the GameTip.LUA file to prevent the errors occuring with Wow 5.3. This is just a temp patch until the author updates the original.

To Install: Just unzip the patched files overtop your existing OverAchiever install.

Fixed

Ok, fixed version uploaded. Sorry about that all. I'm not sure why, but the errors did not come up while I was doing the dev work, only after a full restart of the game client.

If you tried version 1 and got the errors then you will need to clear the saved variables from both the main savedvariables folder and your character's folder to get it to stop erroring, even with a fresh copy of the addon.

Folder examples:

C:\Users\Public\Games\World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\xxxxxxx\SavedVariables

C:\Users\Public\Games\World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\xxxxxxxx\ServerName\ToonName\SavedVariables

Remove all the files that start with "OverAcheiver" from those two folders.

Not Sure

I'm not sure about this. I was not getting any errors yesterday, but today I do. I went back to a clean copy of OA (without my patch) including clearing the saved variables and I still get the errors. I think Bliz may have changed something in a hotfix. I'll be looking for a solution, but I think this one may need the OA author to fix.

Edit: Ok, I found it. It was me. It had to do with my changing the version number in the TOC to force OA to rebuild several tables. The author used the version number in a way I wasn't expecting in the main code. I'll put up another version of the patch as soon as I figure out a workaround. In the meantime, you will need to clear the savedvariables from both the main savedvariables folder and your character's folder to get it to stop erroring, even with a fresh copy of the addon. Sorry about that.
