We Don't Wipe - Windwalker Monk  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 3.04
by: Taraezor [More]

Description
A DPS maximiser module for the We Don't Wipe AddOn.

Works great in 7.1 Return to Karahzan!

Dependency
You will need the latest We Don't Wipe.

Priority Queue (aka Rotation)
* Touch of Death
* Serenity
* Storm, Earth and Fire
* Fists of Fury (must precede WDP)
* Strike of the Windlord
* Rising Sun Kick (to trigger WDP)
* Whirling Dragon Punch
* Rising Sun Kick (when WDP is on cool down)
* Chi Wave
* Inserted Tiger Palm (priority varies)
* Fillers: Invoke Xuen / Touch of Karma / Rushing Jade Wind / Chi Burst / Spinning Crane Kick

Rotation Notes
Chi and Energy management is automated. No need to chug/pause. No ability will be used consecutively. Free Blackout Kicks do not influence the rotation. They are just nice to have. Serenity, Touch of Death etc used on CD. If an ability appears in the rotation and it does not appear in the list above then it is deemed a "filler". Allowance made for the Ascension talent. In this first implementation for Legion, Power Strikes has NOT been coded (yet).

Tiger Palm used if near maximum Energy. Used strategically to ensure there is always enough Chi. Its exact placement in a rotation list (above) is impossible to say. TP is not so bad that we would ever avoid using it. But it is not so good that we'd delay using abilities in our rotation. We use it as a good means to achieve an end. The rotation is first built without TP. Then TPs are inserted as necessary.

Whirling Dragon Punch is about as good as Fists of Fury and much better than Rising Sun Kick. But, WDP can only be used while FoF and RSK are on cool down. Again, the exact placement in a simple list is difficult to say.

Finally, the Hula Girl Doll will appear. This means it is UP TO YOU. Typically, an ability could have been suggested but you might be better to drink a potion, move, use a multi-target ability and so on.

Things will suddenly appear and disappear based upon Chi globes you may have stepped over, and other RNG things. Where possible, abilities coming off cooldown will slide along the queue.

Modifiable Parameters
From the chat line, the following modifiable parameters can be adjusted by you. The values are saved between sessions.

/wdw setr death=y
Whether to include Touch of Death. "y" is the default.

/wdw setr karma=y
Whether to include Touch of Karma. "y" is the default.

/wdw setr sef=n New Patch 7.1!
Whether to include Storm, Earth and Fire. "ny" is the default.

/wdw setr ser=n New Patch 7.1!
Whether to include Serenity. "n" is the default.

/wdw setr xuen=n
Whether to include Invoke Xuen. "n" is the default.

/wdw setr sefratio=n
The target's health must be at least this ratio of your full health or else Storm, Earth and Fire will not fire. E.g. 0.8 means 0.8 or 80% of your maximum health. "1" is the default.

/wdw setr deathratio=n
The target's health must be at least this ratio of your full health or else Touch of Death will not fire. E.g. 0.75 means 0.75 or 75% of your maximum health. "1" is the default.

As you progress in Legion you will want to increase this a fair amount to avoid being nagged to use ToD on dungeon trash and quest mobs.

/wdw setr uptoyou=nnnnn
The spell or item ID of the queue filler icon. Use negative for an item. IDs can be found at Wowhead.com. Default is -34249, the Hula Girl Doll sold by Griftah!

/wdw setr {parameter}=?
List the current value and a description of the parameter. New Patch 7.1!

/wdw listp
List the parameters for this module.

I was gonna send this private message...

... but apparently it's disallowed. I admit, I haven't been playing on my monk since 7.1.5 hit - I've been playing with the diablo anniversary, using other (more effective) toons in wow for the week, and now in diablo itself. But someone I recommended We Don't Wipe to, also WW monk, says that since the patch it's been throwing enough errors that swatter shuts it down. I'll be on that toon tonight, but I wanted to give you a heads up (in case you were around) that something's weird.

Hope you enjoyed your vacation!

Why? (1) Because it was too much trouble to maintain, especially catering for all window configurations and font sizes, (2) and slowed me down when I wanted to add a new configuration option, (3) I want to continue developing AddOns, even after playing WoW for nearly ten years. So I had to make a tough decision, and (4) with the new way of doing things, I can respond quicker to changes and with a lot less effort
Cool! At least I know that it's gone deliberately, and it's not that I've somehow mislaid it.

The angled display when you FIRST load WDW is deliberate. It allows for even very very small resolution displays. It is also radically different and gets your attention and gives the feeling that it needs configuring.

If you drag a middle tile, say 5, then tiles 5 to 10 will all move together. Also, when a tile is dragged near to another tile, it will "snap" to that tile.

LOTS more options.
I'll try, again, to move the tiles differently. I haven't been able to get them to stop overlapping at all, nor to get them to line up horizontally near the bottom of my screen, where they're closer to the place I'm watching when I'm in combat. The angle up ends up overlapping and getting in the way of things I'm trying to look at. (Like, finding the fire to not stand in...)

Sorry, they are now in the NOT YET RELEASED rewrite of my Cool Aid AddOn. I had to remove it from WDW as it was THE major source of protection errors AND it was the main reason WDW constantly needed updated. IT HAD to be quarantined.
Woohoo! Another thing I haven't screwed up the display of!

Umm... I made no change to Serenity. Puzzling.
I had actually come here to comment on the fact that Serenity is always in the first box, showing as something I should cast, even when it's on cooldown. I went in on my monk to try to get a screenshot, and found that it was no longer showing up at all. I don't know how to make videos of my game, unfortunately, but I can try to get screenshots if it would help.

If you prefer, we can move this convo over to that addon's comment page.

Thank you for that consideration.

I'd like to request that you update the screenshots that show the elements you've removed? One reason I mentioned the small icons of what's on cooldown but not in rotation was because it was still on the screenshots on this addon/module's page, which caused me to think I was missing something.

Is there somewhere else that you've put this documentation that I could find it? With Legion, I'm having problems having *any* graphical browser windows running while WoW is up. I run Linux, which means I have an easy way to have a text-only browser window that isn't (I think) taking up piles of cpu/memory, so if it's somewhere else I can have it on my screen at the same time WoW is running and be able to try to fix things.

I do understand that Documentation is pretty much the least interesting part of coding. If there's something I can do to help, please ask.

I have a number of questions...

a) Most importantly, which might fix the rest - I can't find the configure panel in my Menu -> Interface -> Addons pane. We Don't Wipe is not listed there at all. I can get the chat commands, but it displays oddly which I assume is the fact that I have the fonts set larger. Unfortunately, my questions aren't resolved by that.

b) My display has drastically changed. I now have a collection of boxes that overlap each other, and if I move them to anywhere but the very top of my window, they display in an angle from bottom left to top right into the middle of my screen. Using the chat config, and changing the 'snap to', both lower and higher, to yes and no, in various combinations, does not seem to change this.

c) I no longer have a set of icons that are equivalent to the lower set displaying in the pictures.

d) Before the latest update to the main module, Serenity was ALWAYS on the first box, even when it was on cooldown. Now, it's never in the rotation at all.

I haven't enabled this on my mage yet, so I don't know what might be going on there, which is why I have posted here rather than the main module. I don't know which to post under.

It's me again, sorry...

I really like the count for the stacks of Brew - it took me a while to figure out what those numbers were, but I find them as if not more helpful than the icon coming up, as I don't necessarily remember what icon is what spell.

I've found a couple of things that seem odd. It doesn't seem to notice when TIger Palm gets a free use, usually giving me the hula girl (Which I believe means it doesn't have anything to suggest at the moment. Or is that wrong?). And it doesn't seem to be tracking Chi Explosion at all - I never see it come up in rotation. I don't have it in the excluded section.

My understanding is that I do not *have* to have it in the 'included' section for it to show - that the included section is just the smaller icons underneath the main line of 'do this next'. For example, I don't have Tiger Brew in the 'included' section, and it shows up just fine.

I have a screenshot of my cooldown pane here on imgur. Just a note: it usually takes 3-5 minutes for the jab icon to swap to what the current icon is. Not a complaint, just noting the delay.

Why is the rotation is telling me to pop serenity then instantly do FoF, thats not really good since you waste almost entirely your serenity buff.
