Auditor  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 4.4.3
by: Alarisha [More]

PLEASE NOTE: Auditor is now made for LibDataBroker (LDB). A list of LDB Display Addons and other addons using LDB can be found here.

If you use FuBar, then just grab Broker2FuBar, and Auditor will merrily show up as it always has done for you, once you have enabled it in the Broker2FuBar options.

Author: Alarisha - alarisha [.at.] gmail [.dot.] com

Description:
Auditor is a nifty addon that tracks your incoming and outgoing money from a variety of sources, and provides an easy to use Data Broker interface to choose whose data you would like to look at, and for what time period. It is, essentially, MoneyFu for those who have obsessive information disorder. Like me. Yes, I *must* know how much I spent on training last week. Why? I dunno. But I must.

Features:
- LDB at last! Yes, your eyes don't deceive you. Probably.
- Money tracking, and lots of it.
- Data separated by realm.
- Character totals.
- Combined totals.
- Clickable tooltip to customise what you can and can't see.
- Ability to look at all your characters' specific data from any of your other characters on that realm.
- Accounts can be viewed per session, day, last seven days, or in their full, all-time glory.
- Cash notification options.
- Optional auto-repairs (per-character preference).
- Optional auto-sell for grey items (per-realm preference).
- Time offsets, so you can set Auditor to reset when dailies reset!
- Many things. Just get it and see!

What does Auditor track?
- Loot money! Whether you are solo, in a party or in a raid.
- Vendor money! Stuff you buy from or sell to vendors.
- Quest money! Money you gain from quests, and money you spend on quests (e.g. the Scholomance Key quest).
- Trade money! Doing enchants or transmutes? Yep, it catches money exchanged in trade.
- Mail money! Sending money to/from your alts or friends? Tracked.
- AH money! At last, both outgoing AND incoming Auction House money is tracked.
- Training money! How much did you spend on training and respecs? Do you care? Well, you'll know anyway.
- Flight money! Spent a day flying about Azeroth? See how much you should claim back on your tax expenses.
- Repairs money! See how much money you really spent on repairing your kit after those instances.
- Unknown money! Money gained/lost, but for whatever reason, Auditor can't work out where it's from. Better than nothing, anyway.
- Reconciliation money! That's money for when you just installed Auditor, and it has to account for the cash you have right now, or for when you crashed, or were logged on at a friend's house. It's all good.
- Guild Bank money! Money you deposit or withdraw from your Guild Bank. Exciting, I know.
- LFG reward money! Guild contributions money! Reforging money!

When does it track it for?
Auditor tracks your money on a per session, per day, per last-seven-days and all-time basis.

* Finally fixed timezone issues, which was seriously complicated!
* New option: Time Offset - you can use this to make Auditor reset at a time other than midnight, local time. Useful for dailies etc.
* Reworked date storage system: A random side-effect of this is that if you play in a non-English locale, the month should bizarrely be localised for your language!
* Combined totals: You can now access this option by clicking on 'Total' at the bottom of the tooltip. It is a toggleable, per-realm option, and will override the 'Character to show...' option while active.
* PLEASE NOTE: Your seven day audit will be cleared out upon installing this update. Your Total audit will not be affected. Essentially, it will just appear like you haven't logged on for a week. No data is lost!

Version 3.1.0
* Added in optional use of guild bank for auto-repairs. This function also keeps a running total of the amount of guild money you have used so far for repairs, per toon, displayed in chat (like the Cash Notify stuff).
* Reworked Auto-Repair function to work properly with faction reductions. This does, however, mean that Auto-Sell Grey Items mods will screw up the categorisation of repairs. So...
* Added Auto-Sell Grey Items function. This is accessible in the options menu under Merchant Options --> Auto-Sell. If you want to use Auto-Repair and Auto-Sell mods with Auditor, feel free - but the functions now included in Auditor are the only ones 99% likely to work properly. It is defaulted to off, and is a per-realm option.
* Changed menu options and options storage layout. These will be clarified below:
Merchant Options --> Auto-Repair (per-character option), Guild Repair (per-character option) and Auto-Sell (per-realm option).
Cash Notify --> AH, Mailbox, Vendor, Trainer, Guild Bank (per-realm options)
And various other cleanups of tooltip options into better organised categories.
* P.S. Using other Auto-Repair and Auto-Sell mods is cool, like I said, nothing will break - but your Repair and Vendor categories will not maintain accuracy.
* .toc bump for 2.4.

Version 3.0.4
* Fixed some library issues for those running without FuBar.

Version 3.0.3
* Added option to allow display of Realm Total on FuBar, e.g. 101.7g/5342.6g.

Version 3.0.2
* Nil check added for when AuditorFu has been disabled, or hasn't finished loading.

Version 3.0.1
* Added in Guild Bank category.

Version 3.0.0
* Complete rewrite. Crossed fingers, everyone. Hehehehe.

With your version I get a nil value when trying to open the tooltip at Brocker_Auditor/core.lua, lines 688 and 657 respectively. Depending on whether Show Combined Totals is activated or not.

Fixed it by removing "reforge" from auditorLogMode. I removed my database before installing. The is no reforge data in the new database file anymore.
Thanks for taking a look at the new version. That bug is a result of my not yet fully understanding how the addon works. The broker display code is expecting the same number of auditorLogModes as are in the data engine.

What you did definitely fixes the error, but doesn't allow the broker display to show old reforge data for people who have it. So, the proper fix is to put the "reforge" log mode back, so new databases generate an empty table for "reforge".

I'll update the link in my previous post. Thanks again, and let me know if you run into any other issues.

Auditor v6.0.2

I have done a small amount of work on Auditor and it's ready for 6.0.2. It was well-designed, so adding new collection modes is very simple. I've added tracking for transmog and void storage, and options for turning on or off a summary of transactions when you leave those NPCs.

I removed code relating to reforging and guild contributions from the data engine. There are still some remnants of guild contribution code, but I'll clean that up later. Your old data for both categories will still be displayed in the broker window, but Auditor won't try to collect new data for these types.

When buying the new Reagent Bank slot for my characters, I noticed that the gold spent gets recorded to the Unknown category. Auditor had code for bank events, but I'm not sure what they were intended to do. I've changed the bank event handling to consider any loss of money as purchasing a new bank slot. Bank Slots is a new Auditor category.

------------------

Here are the updated addons: Auditor2 and Broker_Auditor. They will work with your existing saved variables, but back them up for both addons, just in case. I backed up mine, though I haven't had any problems with my 3 years of data.

Download Auditor2 v6.0.2b

If you try it, please post your feedback. Even if it works perfectly and uneventfully, that is important information to share. I'm looking to have the ability to make official updates, and positive feedback may help. Enjoy!

Updating Auditor for Warlords of Draenor

Auditor has been one of my must-have addons since 2009, but sadly it has not seen an update since Cataclysm. I intend to bring Auditor fully up to date with Warlords of Draenor. Here is my early list of tasks needed to do this:
  1. Remove guild contribution code. Auditor will still retain and display old Cash Flow data, but will not attempt to collect any new data.
  2. Remove reforging collection. Ability to display old reforge data will be retained.
  3. Add new categories for collection. I haven't played WoW in a while, so I can't remember any of the conditions that would cause "Unknown" data. But I will fix these and add more useful categories. If you know any categories of income/spending that aren't properly recorded, please post them. And post your ideas for new categories!

I'll try contacting Alarisha to see about getting these updates made official and reviving Auditor. I plan to play WoW for a while, so I will be able to maintain it.

Please post any concerns or suggestions!

Thank you, that was driving me nuts. Would be awesome for this to get a real update, though. I can't imagine WoW without it.

Link error

The fan update linked by faeldray leads to the Curseforge website and gives the message, "403 Forbidden You don't have the permission to access the requested resource. It is either read-protected or not readable by the server.

If you find this to be in error, please notify the administrators." Can this be corrected please? I am in sore need of auditor now MoP is out.

Fan update for MoP

It looks like Alarisha is gone so I'm currently attempting to see if I can take over the maintenance of this addon.

I've uploaded a fan update to Curseforge for the time being. It updates the TOC and added tracking for transmog and void storage.

Hi Alarisha, thanks for the reply!

I checked my mods and you're right... here is what is using LibQTip-1.0 and what release number it is:

Archy: r152-release
Auditor: r122-release
Decursive: r151

I checked and I don't actually load Archy or Decursive on the broken toons... they are AH toons and don't need them. So I jumped into the control panel and loaded them one at a time, as a test, and lo and behold, problem was fixed after loading either one of them. Does that mean my Auditor's LibQTip needs to be updated?

Thanks for the help!

The auto-repair side of Auditor is really very basic, and I only added it in to work around some issues caused by lag in game in cities like Dalaran. There isn't any real error checking for it, as it assumes that you will have set the options according to what is available.

You can make a new settings profile (in Profiles) for the character(s) with the problem, and it should respect you not having Gbank repairs ticked for them. I believe. I'm no longer subbed to WoW so I can't test this for you, but I will resub if something horrible breaks so I can fix it - sadly I can't justify doing that just for this issue. Sorry

If setting the profiles doesn't help, feel free to use a more fully-fledged auto-repair mod. As long as you continue to use the auto-sell feature of Auditor (or just don't use that feature at all) then repairs should still be recorded properly.
