Description:
moveFrames does exactly what it's name implies, it allows you to move the basic Blizzard frames anywhere you would like. No more frames locked to the left and center of the screen. Think of it as a lightweight version of MobileFrames, MoveIt, or DiscordFrameModifier only without all the extra stuff. It doesn't do anymore than it's name implies. moveFrames is very unobtrusive, there are no visible frames or buttons cluttering up the UI or special slash commands used to move a frame.

To move a frame, simply drag by the 'title bar' to the location you want the frame placed. The next time you re-open the frame, it will open in it's newly placed position and no longer adhere to the "frame push" behavior when opened or closed like the default. Frames that have not been moved using moveFrames retain the default blizzard behavior, opening on the left and pushing currently open ones to the middle.

moveFrames works with just about every frame, including the LoadOnDemand frames like the TradeSkillFrame or TalentUI. Currently, every frame is enabled by default but you may turn off / lock individual frames; check the 'Usage' section on the wiki for more details.


Usage:
The slash commands offer a number of options and may be accessed in one of two ways: /moveframes or /mf
/mf reset - This will reset all of the moveFrames positional data. The next time frames are opened, they will use the default Blizzard positioning.
/mf lock - This toggle a global lock on all moveFrames, frames will not be moveable with this toggled.

There are also a number of ways to handle individual frame settings by click on the TitleBar area or, in the case of frames like QuestWatch and WorldStateCaptureBar, on the frame itself.
Left-Click+Drag - Move a frame wherever you want. Pretty straight forward.
Right-Click - This will lock the selected frame into position. To un-lock the frame, just right-click it again.
Shift+Right-Click - This will reset the moveFrame data. Do this if there is one frame that needs to be reset without losing every frames positional data.

Special bag frames

Hi, will this handle special bags when used in bank slots, like Satchel of Cenarius (24-slot herb bag)? I have been using MoveAnything so far, but it will not work with those frames, and also appears to be mostly abandoned as a mod.

Thanks for updating this, I'd like to check it out.

Re: Special bag frames

TDurden, currently moveFrames does not support moving any type of bag frames, whether from the bank or those currently equipped. What it does allow you to move if the actual BankeFrame itself, however that is extent to which you can modify 'inventory' type frames.

Indeed I do, rickenbe. I plan on adding the PVP frames (score, points, and 'contest status') as well as the ragdoll frame, rickenbe. There are some other small features I'm thinking about as well, but they're more along the lines of basic functionality and not frame movement.

Great job! I always used mobileframes and I didnt quite like it because sometimes the newer versions needed the sea library on the cosmos website.

And as well they didnt always upkeep the mod with the newer frames, I hope you do -)

Icedawg there's a long list of what's currently supported by the addon, but neither of those are currently on the list. I don't plan on adding them either, considering that 90% of the playerbase uses some unit frame modifcation that overwrites the default frames in any case. There are also a grip load of mods built specifically for modifying the default unit frames, including all of the ones you inquired about.

BlueF, please feel free to PM me with your error log or a link to some screenshots. You could also just paste some of that information here. It might also be useful if you included a list of other mods that you're using, the issue may be some conflict with another's functionality.

great mod so far! I only have run into 1 issue. If you have a trade window open and someone pops a trade with you, the trade window will close and vice versa. This is a big issue for enchanters who need to have a trade window and the crafting window open simultaneously to enchant soulbound items in trade window

vidmaster, I can't recreate what it is you're talking about. On my character, I am able to open both the enchanting window and alchemy window with the trade window at the same time. I can open them in any order, whether it's the tradeskill / crafting windows first followed bye the trade, or the trade window first. Try doing a /mf reset and watch how the Blizzard's default frames handle it natively, the function controlling what opens and closes is the same in moveFrames as in the default.

The durability frame is on the to do list.

I originally thought the World PvP/ Battleground PvP Running Score Tracker was a movable feature, but found it wasn't as far as I could tell. That's probably another one that would be very helpful.

Oh... thank you. This removes what was probably my biggest annoyance. While there are a few things that would be nice to have added (and you might already have on a to-do list), just being able to drag my most-used windows around whenever I need to, to wherever they need to go, is exactly what I've been wanting. Thank you so very, very much!

All of these moveable frame addons always forget the quest timer frame, the one that comes up when you get one of those annoying timed quests.

After all the elements of the screen are moved around with all these different addons, the timer always shows up under something else or hidden by other mod frames.
