Mapster  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 1.11.0
by: Nevcairiel [More]

Mapster is a very simple world map enhacement addon, which was designed to work in conjunction with all other map addons out there. The idea to create Mapster originated from pure lack of a simplistic addon that only modifies the world map, without adding a full scale feature set.

Features

  • Map Style (Scale & Alpha)
  • Coordinates
  • Fog of War removal
  • Enhancement of the raid/party group icons

You can access the Mapster configuration menu through the new button on the world map, as shown in the screenshot.
All features (except the style) can be turned off individually if you do not need/want them.

If you're looking for a replacement to Cartographer, i also recommend the following addons:

Mapster
1.11.0 (2023-11-28)
Full Changelog Previous Releases
  • Add 10.2 FogClear data
  • Disable multi-version packages
  • Remove Classic support
Maintaining Classic support has become a huge burden for this mod, since
it is designed to modify the Blizzard UI, and the UI diverges even
further between Retail and the different Classic variants with every
    update.
Hence, I rather focus my efforts on Retail, and other mods.

Hey!
addon is nice but it bugs quite hard on BGs — i cant see icons of strategic poings (lumber mill, hangar etc.), and funny thing is that some are working and some are not, tried rescaling, scaling back to 100% etc — wont help. Would be nice if you will fix it cause mapster is actually only substitution for cartographer (which is officially dead now).

thanks!

Can you add a keybind toggle to change between the two map sizes implemented in 3.3?

can you make it so you can scale the player/poi blips on the maps? battlefield minimap, main main and small mainmap?

that would be all the functionality i need to replace this old addon:
http://www.wowinterface.com/download...ldLocator.html
(you can take code from it if you like)

between capping and mapster it handles just about everything it did

is it mapster thats numbering and changing the colors for player blips in combat or dead?

Mapster wont be doing that, there are way too many headaches involved with displaying instance maps for instances that dont have an official map from blizzard.

For other addons, well there is always Atlas, not sure how well it integrates, however.

Thanks for making a great addon.
Have had no problems with it.

Only thing that would be nice would be to see dungeon maps for Outland and old world dungeons.

I didnt even notice that, but hey, its fixed now. Thanks!

@richerich:
Thats already fixed for the upcoming version, thanks for the report.

In fact i'll push that out now with only fixes, and keep the new features for later.

You use a "locale" folder (with a small 'l') for Babelfish.lua and a "Locale" folder (with a capital 'L') for the rest. While this works fine on Windows it does cause issues on Mac OS X with a case sensitive file system.
I can work around that manually. But the *@?& Curse client chokes up on this. I stopped using curse, since that's not the only issue, but it would still be nice if you could fix this in a future release.
Thanks for the nice addon btw.
