Other Currency

It would be great if this mod could track all forms of currency/honor/arena points, and show the gains for the session/day/week.

This asks you to open your bank to show it the badges you have in there..... but as of patch 3, the badges are no longer there as they are on the Currency tab of the Character window. This addon shows that I have zero badges when on every toon but my DK I have over 50, if not more, each.

Tried 4.01 too now... no change - as soon as I zone BadgeFu is substracting all badges I have ... everytime.

ps: Tried (unintentionally) the warning feature again, seems like I didn't wait long enough in my first test. Got the warning now after around 2 minutes I think (right when my hearthstone cast was finished and I had to fly back to the instance for the badge, I really forgot this time)

Tested the new v4.01 in both Kara & Heroic Slave Pens this weekend. Still doesn't work properly overall.

In Kara, yes, it did work properly. Badges collected were properly recorded, it did not mistakenly record non-badge pickups.

Then moved on to Heroic Slave Pens. Save problem as in the past reappeared (non-badge pickups being recorded), as reported by myself and the other poster.

Cannot verify whether it occurs 100% of the time after zoning or it occurs without zoning, as was only able to deal with taking the screenshot after the run was over (it ended before finishing). Remembered to view BadgeFu's Tablet panel only after a couple of deaths and instance rezones (you can't beat PUGs ). But every time it was looked at, it showed non-badge items, including near the beginning of the run.

The Coilfang Armament pickups mistakenly recorded were not by me alone (I only picked up 2), but by everyone in the party.

I see. It's quite annoying I can't reproduce this at all
Uploaded another version now, could you check if that fixed it?

Thank you, I think I finally figured out what was happening.
Great, updating BadgeFu right now and purging the old savedvariables. I'll report back if the problem persists.

Thank you, I think I finally figured out what was happening. It should be fixed in the latest version.
Please report if you still get this bug, because it does not happen to me (might have something to do with loading times).

About the badge warnings: they are working for me, but I'm trying to figure out a better way to do them still so that should be in a later version. I'm also trying to log chests correctly (chess event, mechanar etc).

edit: note that your current history won't get fixed (you'll probably want to purge it), but logging should be correct after the update.

For me the BadgeFu tooltip looks like this, after two days of use.

If my FuBar_BadgeFu.lua SavedVariables is of any help, you can find it here:
http://www.sariash.de/sunrise/wow/ui/FuBar_BadgeFu.lua

ps: we tried to get a warning if one of us doesn't loot his badge, but never got one

Look forward to trying this again when it stops recording boss loot drops as "negative" badges, as mentioned (from Kara as tested, at least). Hope the revisions are going well .

How about an option for just disabling the reminders?
The option is already there, just right click the plugin and deselect "Enabled" from "Loot warning".

A mod you might want to look at for ideas for accurate recording of both loot & badge pickups: HeadCount (direct download: here ).
Accurately tracking the pickups is no problem. The hard part is tracking the source of the loot that got picked up, and determining if a new boss got killed. I don't even think this is possible unless you picked up the loot yourself or gave it out by master looting. That is without keeping a boss database (which the addon you linked actually does as far as I can see).

Edit: Found how it is detecting encounters: it's looking for boss level mobs. Unfortunately heroic bosses are level 72 so they aren't as easily identified.

Note that there are only 110 bosses that drop badges currently in game though, and I can always make this load on demand if it's an issue.

Here is one of the strings out of the FuBar_BadgeFu.lua saved variables file that shows what I am talking about:
This is what it's supposed to look like after purchase (from my own SavedVariables):

Code:
[1216937007] = {
	-150, -- [1]
	" |cffa335ee|Hitem:34892:0:0:0:0:0:0:0|h[Crossbow of Relentless Strikes]|h|r", -- [2]
},
The line you pasted has only a partial item link and loot should only be logged after your badge count went down, so I'll see if I can figure out that happened there I'll take a look if it's master looting related, I never use that personally

Yes, just not be the master looter for things and run Kara .Here is one of the strings out of the FuBar_BadgeFu.lua saved variables file that shows what I am talking about:

[1217390638] = {
-20, -- [1]
"28757:0:0:0:0:0:0:402035433|h[Ring of a Thousand Marks]|h|r", -- [2]

That full "28757:0:0:0:0:0:0:402035433|h[Ring of a Thousand Marks]" stringis what appeared in the BadgeFu tooltip window, with a "-20" next to it as the badge count. Obviously wrong, of course.

Another wrong entry from the run in the saved variables file that also appeared in the BadgeFu window:

[1217379972] = {
-7, -- [1]
"28589:0:0:0:0:0:0:1946264114|h[Beastmaw Pauldrons]|h|r", --
[2]

That item actually appeared twice in the BadgeFu window during the run; here is the second entry in the saved variables:

[1217380077] = {
-7, -- [1]
"28589:0:0:0:0:0:0:1946264114|h[Beastmaw Pauldrons]|h|r", -- [2]

And finally a correct entry:

[1217390550] = {
"3", -- [1]
"|cFFFF8800Prince Malchezaar", -- [2]

The mod appears to be confusing loot dropped with bosses?

Unfortunately I can't detect what your group members looted from, and I can't find a cleaner way to do this because you don't necessarily have to open the loot window after a boss dies. Depending on the user doing that would potentially not generate the warning even if he/she did forget to loot badges.

At least one of your group members looting his/her badges is a more safe assumption though, so that's what I use to detect badges.

I can't think of any way to detect when a new boss died except for keeping a full database of all potential badge dropping mobs. The result of this is that either someone in your group looting his/her badges more than 5 minutes after the boss died or you relogging after looting your badges will generate an incorrect warning. Did anything like this happen?
No, although it could have occurred on the Kara Chess event where I was the last one to get badges out of the chest. More than 5 minutes might have passed till the end of the event.

How about an option for just disabling the reminders? Certainly do not want this bloated up with a boss database or similar.

A mod you might want to look at for ideas for accurate recording of both loot & badge pickups: HeadCount (direct download: here ). It uses an inefficient recording format for its saved variables file; it eats more and more memory after every run. But it does record things properly.

Thanks for the feedback!

But often it would record things like "Beastmaw Pauldrons" (dropped on one run) with a badge count for it being "-15". This issue happens on many boss kills for items picked up, making the badge tracking of this during runs pretty much useless.
Strange, I've been using this for a few weeks and never saw anything like that. I'm not sure what could cause it, so do you have any idea how to reproduce it?

Also an error experienced this week after picking up badges off a boss:
FuBar_BadgeFu-20400-2\\BadgeFu.lua:653: attempt to concatenate field 'lastTarget' (a nil value).
Thanks for the report, I found the cause for this (I think) and it should be fixed now.

And finally, it incorrectly warned me in chat "Warning: You probably didn't loot your badges!" on one boss, when in fact I had.

I think I prefer the occasional incorrect warning over missing any warnings. The fix to have this be 100% accurate would be to check the combat log against any boss deaths which I might add in the next version, but it would require updating when new bosses are added to the game (I'm assuming there will be simular badge type items in WotLK so this addon will have its use).

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Interesting, but it still needs a lot of work to get the bugs out.

During a Kara "badge" run both this week and last week here, as well as a ZA run, v2.01 recorded many badge pickups properly. But often it would record things like "Beastmaw Pauldrons" (dropped on one run) with a badge count for it being "-15". This issue happens on many boss kills for items picked up, making the badge tracking of this during runs pretty much useless.

And finally, it incorrectly warned me in chat "Warning: You probably didn't loot your badges!" on one boss, when in fact I had.

Hope you are able to improve things; once it starts working properly, the potential usefulness of this is fantastic.
