Buffwatch++  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 10.04
by: Pup [More]

Buffwatch is a buff monitoring tool for all classes which lets you easily and clearly keep track of any buffs on yourself or your party/raid, and also allows you to quickly recast your buffs at the click of a button.

You choose which buffs you want to monitor and Buffwatch lets you know when they have run out, with clickable buttons to recast them.

Buffwatch can be used to :

  • Keep an eye on buffs that you want to keep up during a raid (eg. Paladin blessings, AI, Battle Shout, Flasks, Food)
  • Making sure you keep your Aura in range of your party, or vice-versa.
  • Tracking other peoples buffs (eg Soulstones), perhaps as a Raid Leader
  • Show how long is left on the buffs you cast on other players

How to use :
  • Make sure the buffs you want to monitor are on the relevant players
  • Tick the checkbox next to each player which locks those buffs to the player (alternatively tick the checkbox at the top to lock them all)
  • Hide the buffs you are not interested in, using the following methods :
  • Alt-Right click to remove the selected buff
  • Alt-Left click to remove all buffs apart from the selected one

Any players that are locked and have no monitored buffs can be hidden by toggling the Hide Unmonitored button in the top right

Buffs that have expired will turn red, clicking on them will recast the buff on the player (if you have the spell and are in range)
Buffs for players that are dead or offline will turn grey

Other features :
  • Locked buff settings are saved between sessions or players joining/leaving your group.
  • Left click a player name to target that player
  • Right click a player name to assist that player
  • Right click the Buffwatch header for options /help
  • Filter on buffs your player can cast or buffs you have cast

Type /buffwatch or /bfw in-game for further info.

OmniCC Users : Direct control of OmniCC cooldown text for Buffwatch within the options panel has been removed in v8.08 due to changes to the way OmniCC works since WoW 8.0. Cooldown text options in Buffwatch now only relate to Blizzard's own cooldown text functionality, if you have that enabled.

If you wish to affect the way OmniCC cooldown text appears within Buffwatch, or if you wish to hide them, you should now use OmniCC's group functionality (https://github.com/tullamods/OmniCC/...-are-Groups%3F)

Follow the instructions in the link above, creating a group in the OmniCC options with whatever name you wish (e.g. Buffwatch), and in the rules panel add BuffwatchFrame
You can then affect the way the OmniCC cooldown text appears within Buffwatch using this groups display and text style/position options.

Buffwatch can also be useful for raid leaders to check important buffs are on certain players before continuing, eg. Blessing of Salvation on your healers.

Work has been underway to rewrite it for 2.0 for a while, but it's pretty much a full rewrite of the mod to work for 2.0 effectively and due to lack of time it's been slow going.

My aim is to have a 2.0 version working before TBC, if not before

I've got a basic beta version up on the curse site, but probably wont upload a version to here until it's out of beta.

http://wow.curse-gaming.com/en/files...450/buffwatch/

It needs a bit of work yet, but something to get your teeth into

Hey, I like this, but... It sometimes doesn't pick up on some buffs. For instance, with "show only castable", it didn't pick up on my pally's auras or blessings sometimes, and on my druid, it doesn't show Omen of Clarity.

Is there a way to move the buffwatch window someplace besides the default?

Yep, Buffwatch uses Blizzards own methods for deciding what is your own buffs or not, and it doesnt class some stuff such as auras as a castable buff. The only way to show them is to deselect 'Show Only Castable'.

Yep, click and drag the window from any blank space within it.

Thanks heaps Pup for updating this mod for TBC. Just wanted to request a couple of features if they are possible and you have the time.

Would it be possible to add the ability to hide players that you have locked with no buffs. I regularly use this add-on to monitor only a handfull of players in the raid (such as when I am not assigned buffs for certain classes or not interesetd in whether they have them or not) and dont want/need to see all players. An option either in the options window, or as a tick box in the header line that would allow players locked with no buffs to be hidden would massively reduce the used screen space and make this much more useable for me.

The other thing I wondered whether you could do would be to add the cooldown graphic (and a timer would be awesome) to the monitored buff/s that the player has cast. I was thinking something similar to what is in the buff section of pitbull (there are others that do this too but I know pitbull does it ) would be absolutely awesome allowing us to monitor time left for buffs that the player has cast.

Cheers, and keep up the great work

Hi, thanks for the comments. Unfortunately my gametime has expired, and it is unlikely that I will be playing anymore. I mentioned on the curse site that this was the last version of Buffwatch that I would be doing, even though there was more that I wanted to do. Hopefully at some point, someone will do like I did and pick the mod up and carry on with it.

The first thing you are after is something that was quite high on my Todo list as it had been asked of before, I imagine it wouldn't be too difficult to do. The second feature would be very nice, and I had also intended on doing something very similar also. At least with the current version you can check how long is left on the buffs you have cast by bringing up the tooltips.

You probably know by now, but this was a bug in the wow patch, and was fixed in the next patch 2.3.something

New version is now up for 3.0.1/3.0.2, please note that it doesnt work with 2.4.3.

This addon is my god. I've been using it for quite some time and just recommended it to my guild's paladins, after having realised we're spending ages on buffing. I'm one of these paladins.

My only concern has ever been the minimise button: it's ugly. How about a ctrl/shift/alt+click option to minimise whilst hiding this button?

Thank you.
