Updated for WoD
BalancePowerTracker is an addon designed to provide a highly configurable bar to track Lunar/Solar energy, Eclipse direction and Peak buff.
It also can fire wanrnings when you gain Eclipse and provides energy prediction.
It's focused on using the CPU strictly necessary and no more.
PREDICTED ENERGY:
Predicted energy analizes your current cast/GCD and adds its cast time to your current energy, so BPT predicts where your energy is going to be, and if you are going to proc any Peak or not.
Unlike former versions, calculating predicted energy is now more difficult (due to fast switch when near 0 and lag), so it's done by approximation. This means that prediction accuracy is no longer 100% (near 100 and -100 is pretty much completely accurate and near 0 you can get +2/-2, usually +1/-1 averaged)
You can configure the indicators (bar, text, icons, arrow) of the mod to either display predicted or real info.
Also, you can configure the alerts to fire when you are going to get a Peak.
(Author's note: I feel Predicted Energy is the heart of BPT, I think without this option I wouldn't have made this addon, also it has taken up most of the time invested in the addon, however, I understand people value the choice to turn this off. At least, give it a try!)
WARNING: Euphoria is untested and Astral Communion error margin is higher
Provides LibSharedMedia, Masque & MikSBT support:

Re: Re: Strange Bug
If it happens again I'll be sure to grab the code but as of now I am unable to get it to do it again. |

Nice Addon, i would only wish for 2 additional functions:
Buttonfacade Support (would be sooooo sweet) Color Option for the Borders I kinda hijacked your mod and inplemented the border option myself but an official release would be better so that everyone can enjoy it (i can give you my changed Code if you want to) |

Disable when OOC?
Is there an option to disable it when you're out of combat? If not I'd like to request one.
Great addon!

Alright, so I've been using this addon for a couple of days and through ICC.
I've already told you how much I appreciate this mod, and I still do. __________________ Onto the topic: Having the bar split into two colours seemed logical to me at first, but after using it in more messy fights such as Deathwhisper-25 Heroic where I have several things I need to keep track of, I noticed that it does not translate well in my head. Not only do I need to keep track of which colour I'm in, but also in which direction the arrow is moving. This is a much un-needed process if you'd just make is more simple. Could you perhaps consider adding an option which colours the entire bar Solar colour when you're either in Solar Eclipse, or working towards Lunar? (And the other way around.) This way, all I need to do during a fight should I get lost while dealing with adds or moving from fire, is to check the bar to see what colour it is - To know which spell to use. Orange - I continue using Wrath. Blue - I switch to Starfire. __________________ I do not code LUA which is why I need to ask you for this, but perhaps others would be interested in a similar option. For me, it would be a great improvement. Surely this could be done without eating too much memory for those concerned. - Thanks in advance. |

Mod is strong. If I could ask anything it would be an option to turn the bar vertical instead of horizontal (perhaps in the position sub-menu). It may just be me because I got used to using IceHUD's Eclipse module in a vertical layout but horizontal is driving me batty.

I do like the addon. I've kinda flip-flopped a few times while addons are getting updated and what not. I really like Blizzard's standard Eclipse art, so I used Move Anything for a while so I could use it. I'm currently trying to use old unit frames (until they get updated) that are hiding the Eclipse Bar so I turned BPT back on. In the most recent update, I'm getting the following LUA error.
Date: 2010-10-16 23:26:59 ID: 1 Error occured in: Global Count: 1 Message: ...e\AddOns\BalancePowerTracker\BalancePowerTracker.lua line 116: attempt to call global 'NewSpellQueueADT' (a nil value) Debug: [C]: NewSpellQueueADT() ...e\AddOns\BalancePowerTracker\BalancePowerTracker.lua:116: in main chunk I don't have any LUA experience specifically, but I can't seem to see what might be wrong with it after looking through the code a bit. I tried commenting line 116 out but it still had an issue later when you used the var spellQ. I redownloaded and reinstalled v1.6 to make sure it wasn't just my fault, but it is still having the issue. I'll go back to v1.5 for now. The main reason I'm still hesitant to use BPT is that I'm not able to use Blizzard art - I hope you're able to implement that soon. =) Edit: Looks like I'm still having the issue in v1.5, I must have been using v1.4. v1.4 appears to be working great though.

Also, can you check if inside the .toc is SpellQueueADT.lua before BalancePowerTracker.lua? e: Although I'm not replying to most of the features request, I've read all, and I'm implementing most of them, but I want to make a single release with all the updates, so, please, be patient.

I suggest: -an option to enlarge only the arrow -an option to color either the whole bar or the amount of way your already workd towards an eclipse in one specific color -an option to not highlight an eclipse but to highlight the eclipse icon corresponding to the nuke you should use (for example, if you ought to use starfire, the "lunar eclipse" icon is highlighted, when you should use wrath, the "solar eclipse" is highlighted After all, the primary information you need to get from the bar is "which spell should I use". Everything else ("how much wrath until I need to switch to starfire", "am I having an eclipse and hit very hard right now") is more of bonus information not vital to your rotation (but helpfull). Greetings, Carylon |
