A World of Warcraft add-on that displays numeric cooldown counters on buttons and other icons with cooldowns.

*** Having Problems? ***

Before posting a problem report, please make sure you are using the most recent release and try resetting all Cooldowns settings using the Defaults button in the Interface Configuration window. If your settings got messed up somehow during the recent updates, setting them to defaults may solve the problem. If that doesn't help, and you still don't see cooldown text, try adjusting the pixel width setting to a smaller number (default should be 27). If that doesn't help, post a problem report and make sure to include which other addons you run and any special configuration changes you make so I can try to replicate the problem. Also, if you run an older version because newer ones are not working for you, let me know. Otherwise, until scientists invent the teleporter and I can port to your computer, there isn't much else I can do for you.

PIXEL WIDTH

Users can set the minimum pixel width for cooldown text display. Cooldown counters will not appear on buttons or other cooldown icons that have a width smaller than the number chosen (except for the quest watch buttons which always show cooldown text). The default is 27 which is between the size of the standard player buff icon and the standard unit frame debuff icon. The standard action button width is 36 pixels. Scaling a cooldown icon using another addon until it is smaller than the selected minimum width will cause the cooldown text to stop displaying on that icon.

FILTERING

Too many cooldown texts all over the place? I made Cooldowns work with any visible cooldown in any addon (bigger than the default width of 27 pixels). To control where cooldown text appears in your UI, check out the Filtering tab in the Cooldowns configuration panel. You will see a list of all the UI frames (frames hold sets of cooldowns) that Cooldowns is aware of and you can uncheck the ones that you don’t want to see cooldown text on. Don’t want to see cooldown text on Bartender4 bar 6? Uncheck BT4Bar6. Don’t want to see text on WeakAuras icons? Uncheck WeakAurasFrame.

Deleting entries from the filter list will NOT block cooldowns on those frames. That will make Cooldowns forget about that frame, but the next time a cooldown is activated on that frame, it will be added to the list again enabling cooldown text on that frame. Delete filter entries when you will not be using those frames anymore such as when abandoning or changing addons. (Leaving filter entries in the list for addons no longer in use isn't really a problem. Doing so will only reduce efficiency very, very slightly.)


Configure colors, fonts, and other options through the Cooldowns interface options panel.

Back for a time

Hello anyone who is still around. I am back in the game for some time and updating some of my addons. Not sure how much I will do and how long I will be around, but I will put anything that I can up on the websites. This alpha version of Cooldowns is fresh off the press and has not been tested with other button bar addons. Feel free, of course, to report bugs and general complaints.

I haven't tested it to see if it handles proc refreshes properly, but I will when I figure out if any of my toons can do a proc refresh.

CooldownCount seems to have some issues when procs reset cooldowns.

But OmniCC was just updated and looks promising.

I'm having all kinds of issues with action bar mods. The other ones are causing tons of taint. Cooldowns doesn't seem to be tainting, but something broke in 4.3 and I haven't been able to figure out what it is.

Update: So I think this is why Cooldowns is acting up, but I don't know enough to fix it:

Yup i can confirm this, it's sort of "delayed" about approximatly 10 seconds if a spell has a longer CD then 10 secs it's showing the last 20 Seconds e.g. on a 30 secs spell. on the shorter ones it's not working.

Yarko, if you're still around, this addon is no longer working in 4.3. It isn't showing taint that I can see nor it BugGrabber/BugSack picking up anything from Cooldowns, but the action buttons no longer show the countdown text making them a lot harder to easily visualize when things get hairy.

Just thought I'd shoot you a "what's up" so you know.

For some reason lately the other mods like this have been dropping my framerate to unplayable. Not sure what it is... but this one doesn't do it. So I'm glad! Thanks for makin it!!!

Bug: CD text showing on 100% opaque bars.

Forgive me if this has been brought up already, however there seems to be a slight cosmetic bug where cooldown text continues to show when action bars are configured to be at 100% opacity unless mouse-overred .
OmniCC doesn't appear to have this issue.
I'm currently using Bartender4 to apply this opacity on mouse-over function.

Yeah, I have heard. I posted on curse that I am going to spend some time soon trying to solve some of the add-on's issues. Unfortunately, I don't think I am a good enough programmer to solve the performance problems, and I don't particularly want to copy code directly from OmniCC. We'll see...

This is a fantastic alternative to OmniCC. Except for one thing...

Testing with OptionHouse (& CPU profiling enabled), OmniCC uses approximately 0.700 CPU/second when one cooldown on one Blizzard button is active. It more than doubles to approx. 1.420 CPU/second when two cooldowns are active.

Cooldowns, on the other hand, uses only 1/2 or less of OmniCC's amount: approx. 0.368 CPU/second with one cooldown active, approx. 0.450 when two are active.

But when idle (no cooldowns are active), Cooldowns uses approx. 0.130 CPU/second continually for some reason. OmniCC uses 0.0. So Cooldown's cumulative CPU benefits decrease over time.

Would be nice to see Cooldowns also using 0 CPU when it is not active; then it would be perfect .

tweaks

Need help on a couple of simple tweaks. How do I get the cooldown to stop flashing when it turns red. I just want it to stay red. Me tweaking with the lua usually results in broken addon
Also, how to I set the counter at which it turns red to 5 instead of 3?
Finally, how do I get it to count down to 0? I know as a 0 instead you have a little flash thing which is fine but I really like the 0 displayed as well. I used to change the lua file for omnicc for this as well. Was very simple change but I couldn't do it here without totally disabling the red color thing.
