EventHorizon Redshift (Old and discontinued)

Description
EventHorizon_Redshift is a very simple module for EventHorizon that will show and hide the frame under a few circumstances. It includes a simple config file (ingame configuration is on the todo list, but at a low priority) and uses practically no resources to run.

Usage
Redshift is easy to use. Just install the addon normally and run the game. The default settings will show EventHorizon when targeting an attackable unit at any time, and will always show the frame in combat.

All (five) of the addon's options are included in config.lua. The file is commented for your sanity, and any of the options may be toggled as you wish. For example, if you don't care about whether or not you're in combat, but want EventHorizon to show when you have any target selected, you may do that. If you don't want EventHorizon to show out of combat period, that's also very easy to do. There's even an option to show the frame if you have a focus.

Please leave a comment here or send me a PM for feedback, bug reports, etc.

v0.2b:
* Added a visibility check on login/reloadui. There is no longer a grace period where you can see/move EventHorizon.
* No other changes. This will be the final update of Redshift unless outstanding bugs are reported. Use 0.2a if you find that you dislike the new behavior. Remember, only use Redshift with the latest version of EventHorizon.

v0.2a:
* Handle show/hide now works properly.

v0.2:
* EventHorizon's handle frame should now hide with the main frame. Please let me know if this does not work for you.
* showHarm, showHelp, and showBoss will now ignore dead mobs.

v0.1a:
* Added config.showBoss, will show EventHorizon when any boss is targeted. Defaults to true.
* Cleaned up combat detection a little bit and removed a few obsolete locals for my own sanity.

v0.1:
* Initial release.

Would it be possible to make the EH frame hide when you are riding a vehicle (for example in the Flame Leviathan fight, where you cannot use your abilities)?

That's it. I was just standing in one place and expecting the window to disappear, since I wasn't in combat. Thanks for explanation and small update!

Redshift should work fine as long as it's enabled and you're using the latest version of EventHorizon. Doublecheck both, and make sure you have Lua errors turned on in your interface options in case something's going on.

EventHorizon will show until entering combat or changing targets to allow you a chance to move the frame. After the first qualifying check event (combat or target change) it will show/hide the frame as you see fit.

Tried this module today and it simply doesn't work. Had just one option on "true" - show in combat, but was still seeing frame out of combat. Relogged several times, used shadowform and removed it - nothing changed. Back to Goose.

I'd still recommend using EventHorizon. It's a powerful dps tool, and you can always find space for it. It's really not that big.

Hehehe, i like ur way of thinking. I guess some intelect minds are still out there in the midst of all 12yr old playing WoW people

I use Elk's bufbars now and i'd like to use you addon, but it takes up so much space :/ really need a bigger monitor hehe, as soon as that happens, i'll will step into the event horizon and i sure will take the redshift effect

Quite aware.

Redshift, (Gravitational) Singularity, and a few other physics-related addon names were brought up in #WoWUIDev when I was trying to figure out some code in EventHorizon that would make writing modules easier for people other than myself and Tifi (EventHorizon's creator). I remembered the convo while coding Redshift, and it stuck.

Lots less boring than EventHorizon_DescriptiveNameGoesHere, that's for sure.

I'm not using ur addon, nor eventhorizon... But i luv the name redshift

U go enter combat and ur addon kicks in n shows the frame, go out of combat n ur addon removes the frame.

Dont know if u meant that as soon as u enter the stage of time dilation effects, color frequencies will change and among other things a redshift will occur..

Version 0.2 has been submitted.

Edit #2: WAAAAIIIIIT a second. The handle was hiding properly since the first release. It was just never reappearing. That'd probably be why I never noticed it, it just wasn't there...

Edit #3: Version 0.2a has been submitted, and fixes handle issues.

I'm sure I can figure out a way to not have it pop up for dead mobs.

I have my handle parented to the EventHorizon frame via myconfig, so I hadn't noticed that one. I'll throw the handle into the mix.

Great idea, since EventHorizon is all I use goose for this looks awesome. Any chance of using this to hide the anchor? Maybe have it shown when holding down shift or alt....

Would it be possible to make it NOT show while targeting a dead creature while out of combat? Just seems kinda weird having i show while clicking on dead creatures.

New version up. Includes a minor code cleanup and an option to show when targeting bosses.

Please note that the new combat detection code is completely untested. However, I see no reason why it wouldn't work, since all I did was remove two very redundant local values from the check.
