Neuron  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 1.4.18
by: Soyier, Maul

Neuron development is on an indefinite hiatus upon the launch of WoW 10.0. If you are interested in helping with development efforts to push the project forward into Dragonflight, please reach out to Soyier.

Introduction:
Neuron is a full featured action Bar addon for World of Warcraft: Shadowlands

Important Note: Neuron tentatively works with World of Warcraft: Classic and The Burning Crusade: Classic, but none of our developers actively play Classic, so support and bug fixes are offered without any guarantee. Realistically, many bugs in Classic require max level characters to debug, and none of us have any such characters. Outside help with Classic is always welcome!

Example:

Theme Support:
Neuron inherits all theming courtesy of the Masque addon. Neuron has full Masque compatibility, and the theming options found in Masque are quite in-depth, not to mention the robust portfolio of skins made to support Masque. In short, you can make your bars look any way you like!

Features:
  • Neuron features an unlimited number of macros. You can create as many bars/buttons as you want/need per character!
  • Are you a clicker extraordinaire? As many buttons on the screen you want where you want, when you want!
  • Macros the size of Texas! Up to 1024 characters in length!
  • Maul's unique mouse-over key-binding system - where the mouse-over binding system was born!
  • Many other of the favorite desired bar addon features and then some!
  • And, last but not least, MASQUE support!

Graphical Editor:
Neuron contains a graphical bar editor that allows for nearly endless customization to bar shape, size, orientation, and much more! Further, Neuron has neither the limitations on max number of bars nor on the max number of buttons per bar, as you might find in addons such as Bartender4 or Dominoes.

Disclaimer:

Neuron is a fork of the amazing Ion Action Bars addon started by Connor Chenoweth aka Maul, for World of Warcraft Legion and onwards. All credit for the bulk of this addon should go to him accordingly, along with SLOKnightFall for his maintainership throughout the years. I, Soyier, take no credit for the idea or implementation of this addon prior to my adoption of the code in the Fall quarter of 2017.

Unfortunately this is a pain when it happens during combat because you cant configure bars while in combat so I get stuck not being able to do anything.
Under Bar Sates in the Bar Editing Window you need to make sure you have "Posses", "Vehicle", and "Override" states enabled on at least one bar, usually your main combat bar. This will allow those states to automatically trigger and take over the bar's contents.
I definitely have those already selected. I just deleted and created a new bar to make sure I hadnt changed anything else as well and am still having the same issue It even happens when Neuron is the only addon I have enabled and all others are off from the log in screen.

any ideas?
Hrm have you tried a fresh profile? I'm wondering if there is a bug somewhere, but it sounds like it's going to be hard to replicate. Can you take a screenshot of the bar settings page so I can see how you have it configured?

Custom bar states.

I've tried every combination I can conceive of in the bar states to get the action bars to always show in combat or when I have a target but to otherwise only show when I mouseover them. I just can't seem to get it to work.

I've tried adding custom bar states but I can't get them to save.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated

Thank You

You made a great Addon! I want to say thank you for this great Addon.
For years I used Dominos aka Bongos. It is easy and comfortable but the other options (castbar handling etc.) and the lack of create your own actionbars was a critical point. You did the lack and I wanna say thank you for that!

If this is an issue I can consider changing it back. The issue I found was that with a padding of 0 the buttons were all overlapped ontop of one another.
Maybe just a warning that this is happened if possiable.
For me i noticed some change on bars and since i forgot they were set to 0 before i set them to 1 .Ofc that resulted i needed to move some bars to fix .
But later i read about change and try to set value on rest of chars to 0.And they lined up like before ,maybe slight change on 1 bar. So not a real big deal.

It's not a big deal. It all depends on which masque skin I'm using as to what spacing I'm using.

Actually, just figured out that the issue seems to be that my bars now have Horizontal Padding of 3, when I put that back to 0 they fit properly. No clue how it happened so not sure if it's a bug or not, just hoping I don't have to fix it manually on all of my toons.
I had the same thing happen on several of my toons, but not all of them. I fixed them the same way.
Think update in last few days did that. At leasts its my guess since i noticed that as well.

Another problem is, when i "unshow" the grid its pretty hard to insert skills item etc, cause the squares show up for a sec and then gone again so i can't insert what i want.

(in waiting of Neuron2 ^^)
For your own sanity just re-enable the grids temporarily when adding or moving abilities if you don't like the current button add mini-game. Me, I play the game 10 or so times first before giving up.

So ... question about override and Spirit of Redemption.

When a priest dies and Spirit activates, the Neuron override bar takes over ... except it's completely empty, no skills show up. If I deactivate override state the bar remains in caster form upon entering Spirit of Redemption (works just fine) but quests like The Cycle of Life no longer function.

Neuron, or Blizzard, don't think the Spirit of Redemption is a stance, so I can't remap the stance to caster or anything. Is there a custom state that would fix this problem where it keeps the caster bar active for Spirit of Redemption without ruining the override state for other things?

Thanks.
