Gatherer  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 7.3.1
by: Esamynn, dinesh, MentalPower, Nechckn, Norganna

Gatherer is an addon for herbalists, miners and treasure hunters in World of Warcraft. It's main purpose is to track the closest plants, deposits and treasure locations on your minimap.

The addon does not track like a tracking ability does, rather it "remembers" where you have found various items in the past. It does this whenever you gather (perform herbalism, mining or opening) on an item, and records the specific map location in its history. From then on, whenever the item comes into range of being one of the closest 1-25 (configurable) items to your present location, it will pop up on you minimap.

When you view your World Map, you will also see the item locations marked on the particular map you are viewing there.

For more information, please visit us at http://www.gathereraddon.com/

INSTALLATION:
--------------
Extract the data to your "World of Warcraft/Interface/AddOns" directory so that the "Gatherer" directory is a subdirectory of the "AddOns" directory.

USAGE:
--------------
Just use the game as normal.
When you gather things, they will appear on your minimap and your main map.
If you want to configure the addon, click the Gatherer configuration icon floating around your minimap frame or type /gather options.

Slash Commands
/gather minimap (on|off|toggle) - controls the minimap tracking functionality
/gather mainmap (on|off|toggle) - controls the world map tracking functionality
/gather dist <n> - sets the minimap tracking distance to this number of units. (in game yards)

a request of functionality. or i am just dumb

Hi i just started playing wow about a month now. and recently stumbled upon auctioneer and now gatherer "love auctioneer!!! im the envy of my friends for gaining much gold for a short time and they took ages".

Well moving on to my problem, to just put it plain and simple, since im new i used gathererDB, but the thing is most of the nodes that show up in my map is either that node is not there or its of a different kind, thats not the problem i know i can delete that node if i can find it in the report, but it is just so hard to remove that faulty node, i would have to search the gatherable report for that node and check my location to see if that was the correct node and then mark it and then delete it. i was wondering is there a way to remove that node from the mini map or the map, like in TomTom in the way you remove a node that is no longer needed "i think hold shift then right click on the node on the map/minimap and it will show an option to delete that node". i think it would just be a breeze to update nodes if that were the case. well on the other hand that im dumb and the functionality im asking for is already included can some one tell me how to do it? thanks in advance, peace.

anyway not using tomtom anymore, now using carbonite much better directions. =)

Re: a request of functionality. or i am just dumb

Burnneck,

Each node is not active at all times. They spawn randomly, in accordance with algorithms known to Blizzard. Each of the locations was verified at the time the DB was created and they have not been modified since.

As to the node type, for some nodes, there are "special" types that are possible to spawn, for instance Silver is a special or rare spawn that can take the place of tin and a few other node types.

Hope that helps explains what you are seeing.

Happy Gatherering,

Nikk

Re: Trouble Installing.

Pantherz99,

Are you talking about Gatherer or the gatherable items database for Gatherer, GathererDB_Wowhead? The number one dependency for the database is the main Gatherer AddOn.

As for Gatherer itself, there are only "optional dependencies" that add to the experience, but are not necessarily required.

Whichever item has "Dependency Disabled" should say exactly what that is, when you run the mouse over the entry.

Also, AddOns function the same across all WoW-supported platforms, since they are actually run by the WoW Lua interpreter, rather than the OS. So, the download/installation is the same for everyone, download the zip file, extract it, and then place the resultant folders/directories under the ..\WorldofWarcraft\Interface\AddOns directory.

Let us know if you cannot find what is missing or if it will not work after reinstalling.

Happy Gatherering,

Nikk

Re: Re: Re: Re: a request of functionality. or i am just dumb

When did that happen? Last I recall, Mithril was a standard node.
To Clarify further, below is the regular and special nodes:

Normal -> Special
Copper -> None
Tin -> Silver
Iron -> Gold
Mithril -> Truesilver
Thorium -> Rich Thorium
Fel Iron -> Khorium
Adamantite -> Rich Adamantite or Khorium
Cobalt -> Rich Cobalt
Saronite -> Rich Saronite or Titanium

The reason why you got a Mithril node as opposed to a Iron node is because some zones are "crossover node" zones, which are setup to spawn both types, and are setup to use the same node points.

Lordlundar,

True, misread that.. indeed Mithril is a "regular" node type. Suppose that happens with too much multi-tasking and not enough sleep. =)

Re: bug with both gatherer and quest guru tracker installed

Callamity,

As noted in the response on our main forums, that is QuestGuru passing a bad value along, so then libswag/Gatherer is being "blamed".

They will need to update their code.

Happy Gatherering,

Nikk

Re: moving show/hide button on world map

Truckndaddy,

Until the recent changes to the map with 3.3, the Gatherer button was not in any other AddOns "way".

We will see if it makes sense to provide an option of some type.

Happy Gatherering,

Nikk

Re: NEED HELP :/

Asdqwerty,

Simply place a checkmark in the "Load Out of Date" checkbox at the top of the main WoW AddOns Control Panel.

As for the DB, that is referring to Gatherer, as it is a dependency. Once you load out of date, you will be set to go.

Happy Gatherering,

Nikk
