Good luck. Carbonite Quest is the free (I guess you could call it demo) version of Carbonite and even it has totally obfusticated unreadable code.

I tried capturing the error message that is generated first, but so many of those errors are logged that the buffer wraps and whatever is generated first is lost. Tried both /chatlog and the Elephant addon and neither capture addon generated errors. Is there a way to increase the buffer size on my in-game chat log so I have a chance to go back and look at what started all the error messages?

Update: I found a way to extend the log and there are no additional messages....just that group of error messages I already posted...which repeat like 100 times.

Ewwww, that is nasty to read. And their License terms say it's illegal to even try to read it >.>

Fortunately someone on Curse is having the same problem and I've been able to find the bug. It's just GC, Carbonite isn't really involved. It's some weirdness where when you first log in the names in your Friends list are all "Unknown" (which, internally, is actually nil). GC is trying to determine what faction the characters who own your various databases belong to and uses the logic that if they're in your friends list or your guild roster then they're the same faction as you.

It'll be fixed in the next build though.

How do you delete an entry that you made? I click on the icon then the events for that day come up on the right, but when i click on my entry it doesnt give me any options except to exit or done is what it says I think.

In the box on the right side after you click an icon where you can click on an event to state if you will attend, you have the option to add a new event. If you click for a new event you have the option to delete... I think I understand if you go ahead and click done there is no way to delete it,because the other guild members have it on theirs already. Sorry its late, hope this is making sense.

I guess my real question is possible in the future if there are plans to be able to delete already posted ones? Or am I overthinking this?

Under the correct scheduled raid for karazan, it says void sphere (my characters name) and the time. Guess my guildies will be happy, they'll think im giving out void spheres at 7pm sat.

As long as it's an event that you created, the Delete button should still be there when you re-open the event. Are you able to edit the event after you've saved it (edit the title or minimum level or anything)?

I logged on after I read your report, thought I might get a screenshot, but it was gone.

I was having some problems with my computer and I ran a restore from a backup. I burned the interface folder and the wtf before before I did it, but I only reinstalled the interface folder not the wtf. Not sure if the wtf matters.

I also had installed installed the 4.0.2 version,before I logged on,but that shouldn't matter.

There were some people on last night when I did messed up and one was on a little while ago that was on last night when I resinked with GC, so it should have still been there. If I am understanding how it works. Can someone Can someone else delete my entry? I havent read that part yet in the manual.

Or maybe I never sinked with anyone after I made the error, so when I rebooted my computer that data was erased.

I don't know. I will let you know if I can edit or delete the next time I make an entry or maybe I'll make one for an earlier date for a test.

Thankyou for trying to help.

Having issues getting it to work

I used Group Calnedar 3.x with my guild with out issue. We decided to upgrade to version 4.x and I have been unable to get it to work or specifically sync.

I deleted all groupcalendar files in WTF and in Interfaces. I tried 4.0.3 and 4.0.1. I seem to get the following errors regaurdless of what I do:

2008/05/23 00:59:51-532-x1]: GroupCalendar-A newer version is available (%s)\MCSchedulerLib.lua:39: attempt to perform arithmetic on local 'pDelay' (a nil value)
GroupCalendar-A newer version is available (%s)\MCDataChannelLib.lua:674: in function `SendMessage'
GroupCalendar-A newer version is available (%s)\CalendarNetwork.lua:1568: in function `ReadyToSend'
GroupCalendar-A newer version is available (%s)\CalendarNetwork.lua:1246: in function `ReadyToSend'
GroupCalendar-A newer version is available (%s)\CalendarNetwork.lua:1215: in function `BeginNextResponse'
GroupCalendar-A newer version is available (%s)\CalendarNetwork.lua:1100: in function `QueueResponse'
GroupCalendar-A newer version is available (%s)\CalendarNetwork.lua:1107: in function `QueueReplacementResponse'
GroupCalendar-A newer version is available (%s)\CalendarNetwork.lua:952: in function `QueueAllRFV'
GroupCalendar-A newer version is available (%s)\GroupCalendar.lua:1426: in function `ButtonFunc'
<string>:"*:OnClick":2: in function <[string "*:OnClick"]:1>

---

Yesterday it did sync for a second but then gave me MCSchedulerLib.lua errors imdeiately upong leaving the Raid.

Ideas? I have disabled mods I thought used the guild channel

Re: Having issues getting it to work

I figured out the issue. I should have seen it earlier. I did a search for MCSchedulerlib.lua and found that I had another add-on ForgeWay that used the same library and actually had an older version MCSchedulerlib.lua. I removed ForgeWay from my add-on folders which fixed the issue.

I did see several other folks on other forums with the issue as well. Hopefuly this will help somebody else

thanks

Re: Re: Having issues getting it to work

Wow, where on earth did you get ForgeWay? I wrote that for my guild a couple of years ago and never released it publicly. It's not that I care about people having it, I'm just surprised to hear that it's being distributed at all.

Re: Re: Re: Having issues getting it to work

Found it last year on a post for must haves for Raiding Paladins. There actually are a few folks out there who think highly of it. I like it a lot too for several features. Anyway you did a great job - I am guessing it was for the guild Forgeway? I was curious where the name came from.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Having issues getting it to work

The guild was on Thorium Brotherhood and named Forge -- "Forge way!" was our battle cry. Unfortunately the release of the Burning Crusade torched the guild and, while it does still exist technically, it's dead as a raiding guild.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh! Some people in WoW drive me up the wall. I am the raid leader in my guild. We use GC to sign up. Sad thing is, seems like theres always a new member or something setting up my raids for me. And tend to screw everything up since all members know to check GC to see if they were accepted or on standby. So there we are on an off night with over 20 people showing up for a kara run, yay for having 1 tank and 1 healer for that entire bunch. Is there any way at all where a certain rank can not set up events? Having guildies clearing their Calendar to attend a bogus Kara badge run is not becoming a happy place.

Yeah, just set the minimum rank to an appropriate level. Make sure you're set as Administrator (assuming you have permissions to edit the guild information) and have all your members set themselves to Automatic, that way you can adjust the rank whenever you need to and everyone will automatically follow suit. If you can't edit the guild information, then have someone else in the guild who can be the Administrator instead.

Let's see, I have tried both 4.0.4 and 4.1b3 and no one is able to see my Pending Attendence requests.. I can see all the events and even make my own which folks see, but they just can't see my Pending Attendence requests.. Any suggestions? Any issues with other addons?
