We Know!

Paladin have an AddOn announcing every interrupt? Hunter's macro announcing Misdirect every 30 seconds? Someone letting you know 2/30 killed, 3/30 killed, 4/30 killed... ?

We Know! is the answer for us passive aggressive people out there. Let them know what you think of the spam announcements, without having to type the remark in.

Features:

Customizable triggers. Starts with 12 built-in triggers, with no limit on more. Add and remove them as you see fit. Saved across all characters.
Customizable response. Starts with "We know, <name>!" as the default. "<name>" in any response is replaced automatically by the offending person's name.
Works in /say, /party, /yell, /bg and /raid. /guild works with its own on/off toggle.
Got a raid that would frown on this sort of thing? Disable We Know! with one simple command.

In-game commands: Type "/weknow" for a complete, up-to-date listing.

Its obvious from the comments so far some people don't like this. Fair enough. I don't like announcement AddOns, so it makes sense some people won't like mine. Feel free to leave comments both about the AddOn itself, or even the issues you have with the very concept. I'll try to reply to them all.

No! This is meant to be snark, and only snark. Obviously this does nothing to "combat spam". This is meant to be humorous. Not funny? Ok, its fine if you think that. But combating spam? Not the point.

Updated for 5.4. I'm back! ... I have an addictive personality.
typing '/weknow' without parameters now gives the addon's on/off status. commands are now displayed with '/weknow cmd'

v1.1.0 Changes

Added the option to respond to guild chat. This is set to off by default. To enable, type '/weknow guildon'. I don't play anymore, so if this is broken, please let me know, and I'll fix it.

v1.0.2 Changes

Hopefully now works in the battleground channel. I don't pvp much, so someone would have to tell me.

v1.0.1 Changes

Updated TOC file to reflect new game version. Will now run without having to enable Outdated AddOns. Otherwise, works the same. Sorry, taking a break from WoW atm.

This feature may not be desirable to everyone, so I have given it a separate enable/disable trigger ('/weknow guildon/guildoff'). It is defaulted to off. The global disable ('/weknow disable') will also disable this new feature. If you noticed that I stuck a "theoretically" in there, its because I don't play anymore. I will probably be back at some point (I still go back to Everquest from time to time), but in the meantime, someone will have to tell me if this doesn't work. Also, after a few days to make sure no one says the update is broken, I will probably go back to not checking this site regularly. I should probably mention this more obviously in the initial description (or maybe just quote previous comments that I've made on this): this isn't meant to "combat" spam. Its snark. Period. Someone actually stops spamming due to this? Cool. Unintended, but cool.

People have AddOns that modify script to be funny. I have one that will attach a random bro-ism to the end of my sentences at random intervals (I modified an old AddOn, which is why I don't post it). Think of We Know! like that. Its meant to be funny- not to change behavior, not to change gameplay- just funny. Not funny to you? Fair enough. Not combating spam? So what?

Not intended to be an attack. I get flustered when I'm obviously not making enough sense to be understood, especially since I went over it in a comment below.

I for one trust hunters know how to misdirect, and don't need to hear when they do. If there's interrupt swapping to be done, i'd also like to think people can keep track of their turn. If they can't, what are the odds announcements will help?

I noticed you didn't say anything about the quest updates. Try the AddOn, but delete all the triggers and run with only quest update triggers. Especially with the new mouseover quest progress default, maybe we can agree those announcements are unneeded? Or if snark isn't your thing, skip this AddOn. I know we can agree people will live without it.

If this gets someone I play with to shut off their macro/AddOn, cool. But its really more of a way to autosnark someone, not something to reduce spam. I doubt many will disable theirs to avoid mine, and that's ok. That just means more chuckles from mine. Mostly, its for the lawls.
