oGlow  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 2.2.5
by: haste [More]

oGlow will light up your items, by adding a quality border to them. It will only display this border for common quality items and above.

It will currently only display the quality borders on the following places:

* Inspect
* Bank
* Guild bank
* Bags
* Mail
* Merchant
* Trade
* Professions
* Character fly-out
* Character
* Loot
* Void storage

I will make it support some other frames also, but this is it for now.

Fizzle

Does this work with Fizzle?
I don't think that Fizzle adds a colored bar to anything other then the character frame, but it adds a durability text.
So it would be nice to have the glow in my bags thru your addon and use fizzle on the character frame.

for now, just delete core/char.lua. I'll prevent it from executing the code if Fizzle is there in the next version.

No, it doesn't and it probably never will. It's also a lot cleaner for the author of ArkInventory to add it as a feature, compared to me writing a add-on that does it from the outside.

just wondering, will it work with addons that show the icon of the item next to the tooltip much like you see on many database websites like allakhazam and wowhead but ingame. I dont remember the name of the addon that does it, also, since its the icon next to the tooltip the quality is already know, i would just love to see it since i like the way icons look with the new border

also... how do i make it colorize all item qualities, i know the addon is made to avoid coloring trash and such, but i would like all my icons to be colored with their respective quality :P

well... basically i want all my icons that can be colorized according to rarity to be that :P

No, I want to avoid styling existing add-ons with oGlow. The reason for this is that they will most likely change as time goes on, and it's a lot better for the mods themselves to add such a feature. I don't want to maintain code for add-ons I don't use myself.

There's two reason oGlow doesn't color the white and gray items. The first one is that it creates a color mess. Mostly because the brightness of the white color. The second reason is that I intended to 'make your shiny items glow'.

For the other question: Just open the lua files and look for something similar to:
Code:
if(q > 1) then
and just change it to:
Code:
if(q) then

ok, so basically if i decide to make the tooltip addon i mentioned use your glow all i would have to do is create a lua file with the correct code in the same folder as the char, bag, bank etc. right?

EDIT

I changed what you wrote in order for it to colorize all items and i have to agree with you... color mess, so ill switch back ^^

Can you make it so that on the character frame broken items glow RED and near broken glow YELLOW (orange would be ok but might be confused with LEGENDARY)?

i think if you want that you should download fizzle as oGlow doesn't color character if fizzle is active. Fizzle colors item according to their durability as far as i can remember

Fizzle colours the items border according to the items quality. This is what Fizzle was originally made for.
It also adds the durability numbers to the item, those are coloured depending on the durability.
