IHML - I Have Macro Lol!  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 2.81
by: Ackis [More]

What it does
Tired of manually having to open your macro window to swap macros for bosses? Running out of macro space because of all the different boss macros taking up a slot each? Getting sick of having to dig through your bags every time for those special daily quest items? Then IHML might be what you want.

IHML is an addon that gives you one macro which automagically changes what it is depending on what zone you're in or which BigWigs boss module is enabled. All you have to do is take the IHML macro (the addon creates this for you and you can find it in your macro window or by typing /ihml pickup) and place it on one of your action bars.

It comes preloaded with various macros for most if not all daily quests found in the game, and also provides marcros to help with boss encounters.

You can also add your own macros using the options menu (found by typing /ihml).

IHML will only use one macro slot and will work with any action bar addon that you can put a normal macro on.
Due to addon limitations macros can't be swapped in combat but will instead be queued for swap as soon as possible.

Where to get it

Please post all bugs and suggestions here.

Klaan has a good idea in the post before this.

I'd like to build on that idea. my idea is that the additional macro swap-slots not be a fixed amount of IHML macro slots, but instead perhaps each macro swapper could be a separate instance of the current single swap-slot. also, if possible, each swap-slot could be set up with different auto swap events enabled.

what i mean is, it'd be great if the user could do some slash command thing (or maybe click a button, but, the slash command sounds easier to add, and to debug) to make a new macro swap-slot, so that they are not restrained to a preset amount of macro swap-slots, instead, they could make as many or as few as they need.

my UI is a mess of macros atm, the mod Macaroon allows me to build my own actionbars, in whatever shape i want, with as many buttons as i want. here is a link to an old screenshot (but it should still be a very good example)

see, using Macaroon, i have my actionbars set up to have on hand any quest items i might need for dailys, raids, whatever.

this results in a pretty cluttered actionbar, so i am hoping that IHML might be able to fix that. granted, it has already helped a lot there, but, i'd really like to finish clearing up my actionbars. the less extra buttons i have on my actionbars, the less i have to distract me in a raid.

Are there any plans to swap macros for spec changes (if it already does support it I apologize, but the screenshot doesn't say)? I've filled my char macros in my main spec and need more room for more macros in my off spec.

Thanks!

EDIT: Installed it, it does support talent changes. Should update your screenshot!

Hi. I've been using IHML and for some reason it doesn't seem to have the same functionality as it always did. Back in Isle of Quel'danas, it would automatically switch based on the area I was in and it worked perfectly. Now, it's very touchy and I find myself never using it.

I probably haven't delved into it enough, but is the switching working correctly? Does it have support for the Argent dailies? I thought I might as well learn more about it or figuring out if something has changed before letting it go.

Thanks!

I don't use DBM so I wouldn't know how to code for it. If you wish to add support in IHML, I'll do it for you if I'm given the code.

www.deadlybossmods.com has ads from gold-sellers now. On the other hand, one of the owners is apologizing for it and saying it will be removed. The details are on the site's own forum.

what we can do in the meantime...

This mod does work for 3.*. Its just that Blizzard has changed some things about how macros behave, namely /targetexact no longer behaves as it has. That command was used to target a dead mob before for using an item on it. This command now favors a live mob if in range, over the target you just killed...

After playing wih it for an hour or so last night, reading forums for suggestions - I found that replacing /targetexact (name of mob) with a simple /targetlastenemy works just fine. I suspect it would fail only if you change targets or get surprise attacked after looting and before clicking the macro. Other forum suggestions involved a mouseover, but I preferred a method closest to how it previously functioned.

Editing the macros, creating your own is really easy. As I am still progressing through the game to get all the dailies, I create them as I go. I use the original TBC macros (found easily by typing /ihml) as examples because I know little about macro commands. I would like to note that to keep things formatted as the original author intended, I installed a mod to show the ItemID in the tooltip. I don't know how or why this this is important, but I trust it's best. Maybe in case Blizz decides to rename an item it won't throw off the macro....

Also I see that iHML has been updated today, so maybe this post is already obsolete, but the changelog on Curse only says the .toc was updated.

Heres an example for the daily Blowing Hodir's Horn:

I named the macro Thunderfall and the icon is 1.

#showtooltip item:42164
/targetlastenemy
/cast Hodir's Horn
