Give Me

Version: 1.5.5 beta
by: merk66 [More]

Welcome to the new Give Me Health. I decided to split the addon into individual folders, one for each macro. This led to the rewriting of almost all the code. I have been testing things for the past month or two and finally feel like I have a lot of the bugs worked out. I would also like to thank the previous author, Mileg, for all of his help with testing this beta. He exposed many of the early flaws and helped make this a better addon.

In order to avoid any conflict, please delete the old Give Me Health folder before copying the new files to your addons.

PLEASE READ
If you have been using Give Me Health, please DELETE two macros. GMFood and GMWater.
Some new features have been added and some changes have been made.

  • The Health Potion and Food macros have been combined.
  • The Mana Potion and Water macros have been combined.
  • GMHealth and GMMana will now give you the least quantity of like items.
  • The Buff Food macro will now give you any food if none match the ones on your list.
  • There is a new mount macro.
  • There is a new non-combat pet macro.

Call me lazy, but I hate swapping out food, water, potions, etc. on my action bars. This addon does that and much more. On first use, open the macro dialog (/macro). Drag the macros to the "Action Bar" buttons, replacing food, water, etc. with the macro. Upon receiving / creating new items, the macros will update automatically to show / use the best items. The macros will also update when entering certain locations. For example, entering one of the instances at Tempest Keep, the Health and Mana Potion macros will update to 'Bottled Nethergon Energy' and 'Bottled Nethergon Vapor' respectively. Battleground and Arena items update in the same way. Read on for complete individual explanations of each macro and complete details on functionality.

GMBandage -- /gmband help
Auto updates bandages.
Left-Click to use bandage on target.
Alt-Click to use bandage on self.
Ctrl-Click to open "First Aid" window.

GMBuff -- /gmb help
Auto updates buff foods.
Left-Click to eat buff food.
Shift-Click to eat alternate buff food.
Ctrl-Click to create "Basic Campfire".

GMHealth -- /gmh help

Alt-Click to use health potion out of combat.
Shift-Click to eat / use second best food / health potion.
Ctrl-Click to open "Cooking" window.
Right-Click to conjure food / refreshments. (mages)

GMHStone -- /gmhs help
Auto updates healthstones.
Left-Click to use healthstone.
Right-Click to "Create Healthstone".

GMMana -- /gmm help
Auto updates mana potions.
Left-Click to drink water / use mana potion. (depending on combat)
Alt-Click to use mana potion out of combat.
Shift-Click to drink / use second best water / mana potion.
Ctrl-Click to open "Alchemy" window.
Right-Click to conjure water / refreshments. (mages)

GMMount (currently English only) -- /gmmt help
Auto updates random mounts. (based on location and ability to fly)

Important Slash Command Change
/gmb help -- displays buff food help text and a list of bufftypes

/gmb -- lists current order of bufftypes

Replace '<bufftype>' with an actual bufftype.
/gmb b1=<bufftype> -- sets first favorite bufftype
/gmb b2=<bufftype> -- sets second favorite bufftype
/gmb b3=<bufftype> -- sets third favorite bufftype

(example #1: /gmb b1=crt will make the first favorite buff 'critical strike rating')
(example #2: /gmb b3=int will make the third favorite buff 'intellect')

Bufftype List (bufftypes are saved per character, only need to set once)
agi = agility
arm = armor penetration
atk = attack power
crt = critical strike rating
exp = expertise
has = haste
hp5 = health per 5
hit = hit rating
int = intellect
mp5 = mana per 5
oth = other
res = resistance
spl = spell power
spi = spirit
sta = stamina
str = strength

I'm happy to answer any questions / concerns and I do check the comments regularly.

v1.5.5 beta

Doubled the variables used in the mount macro from 5 to 10. This should allow for better randomization / use of all mounts, rather than just the first five flying / ground. Worked on fixing paladin mounts. Hopefully they will work correctly now, but I have no way to test it myself.

v1.5.4 beta

Added Chinese localization to GMMount macro. It still needs to be localized for German, French, and Spanish. Fixed mount macro not showing riding mount when flying into Dalaran. Added Salted Yeti Cheese to GMHealth macro.

v1.5.2 beta

All macros except GMMount have Chinese localization now (thanks to curse user saqucka). Fixed a problem with tradeskill tooltips not showing.

v1.5.1 beta

Minor correction to Give Me Pet. Macro was not recognizing pets that required the snowball reagent correctly. This was causing "Missing Reagent: Snowball" error at the top of screen.

There's a much newer version on Curse. For some reason I guess the author is not updating WoWI as often or anymore (unclear). Just a heads up!

New Buff Food

The new Buff food from the Artisan Cooking Quest, Clamlette Magnifique isn't recognized by the macro. Just a heads up.

Thanks

I have noticed that the Mount Macro will not work if you in an area that is by default a flight area and you do not own a flying mount. It will not summon a ground mount of any kind. It a minor problem but since I am hearthed to Shattrath, I have to manual summon a riding mount to run around, just thought I would let you know in case there was something that could be done.

GMHealth

Is there anyway the GMHealth can get a preference setting, like GMBuff? I prefer to eat conjured food before I eat my Festival Dumplings, or anything like that, and would like it to default to any conjured food I have first.

I will retry the bug I reported on my mage. I was able to duplicate the bug Darxon had reported on my paladin on the build I have (v1.5.2 - not the latest release); he just got Cold Weather Flying over the weekend. I will attempt to reproduce that bug when I get home this evening.

[EDIT: misspelled Darxon]

[EDIT2: clarified what build I experienced the Dalaran bug]

Sorry, I misread SmuvMoney's comment. I thought SmuvMoney and Darxon had the same problem.

@Darxon
When you say land, do you mean that you are flying in on your own mount, or flying in to the Flight Master? I don't think this should matter, but who knows. What mounts do you have and do your mounts normally work with the macro?

Just to let you know, when I flew in (I tried this several times), I would land at Krasus' Landing. Without dismounting I would run into the small covered area with the stairs and get dismounted. Upon exiting the small covered area, the macro will change from flying to ground. You can actually stand on the edge of the covered area and mount flying. I cannot make the macro react anymore specific than this because it bases it's decisions off of the subzones (ie Krasus' Landing).

It is interesting that you both post the same issue, however I cannot recreate the problem. I have experienced a few issues myself, but not this one.

Does the problem happen every time you fly in to Dalaran? How do you fly in? (landing on Krasus' Landing? or dropping in from the no fly zone by parachute?) Are you still mounted when you see the ? mark icon? Just try to be as specific as possible so I may be able to recreate it.

Thanks a lot! =D
It happens when you land at Krasus landing , not when you for exampel take a portal to dalaran or use a hs .
And yes it happens every time you fly and land at Krasus Landing in dalaran

Havent tested flying in and using a parchute yet

edit : tested , if you from Krasus landing use youre flying mount and fly in to dalaran and land with the parachute the macro works fine

One thing if you fly to Dalaran, where you land the GMMount macro show your flying mount and thats fine .

BUT when you go in the city ( where you cantīt fly) the macro still shows the flying mount and it doesnt change if you hold down shift

Delete GMFood and GMWater. The new GMHealth and GMMana will show food and water while out of combat, then when you enter combat they will switch to show pots.

If you still think there is a problem, let me know. Thanks.
That is what it was. The GMHealth and GMMana macros are working perfectly in their place.

I did have another suggestion for the GMMana macro. For characters that do not use mana, i.e., rage or energy, could a rage potion or thistle tea or similar item be the item choice in combat? For instance, I have a rogue with a couple of thistle teas in my bags. I'd love for the in-combat GMMana marco to show thistle tea. This would be really cool if it could be done.

Thanks again for your time. Keep up the excellent work.

EDIT:

I did find a small bug. If you are in Outland after level 70 but do not have a flying mount yet, the GMMount macro does not show your ground mount unless you hold down shift. If I don't have a flying mount yet in Outland, I feel that it should just show the ground mount until that changes.

EDIT 2:

In the bug above, the action button just shows a question mark as if the spell requested is missing/not in the spell book.

Great!

I really like the direction you've gone with this addon. I have a ton of alts and make very heavy use of macros on all of them so macro space is tight for me too, the change to make the addon modular plus combining health/food and mana/water helps a ton. Also saves on toolbar space, which I always appreciate.

Just wanted to tell you I love the changes and thank you.
