Which version is the correct one?

I'm seeing a couple different versions of Producer; one on Curse/Wowace that's supposedly compatible up to client version 4.0.3a (which works, with errors, though) and and even newer version here at Wowinterface, listed as v2.5.6 and updated on Jan 20, 2010 (however I couldn't get this newer version to work at all; when clicking on any tradeskill icon, the default Blizzard UI opens up, not Producer -- I tried both with and without Ace3 standalone enabled).

So is the newest version going to be updated here at WoWInterface, and has anyone else had the same problem with the latest 2.5.6 version here? Previously I've been using the r195 alpha release from Wowace, which had a lot of bugs, but still worked.

I don't know; maybe the newest version here at WoWInterface isn't working for me, but it is for the majority of users...

EDIT: (Feb. 15, 2010) Allright, after some more testing, I've come to the conclusion that the version of Producer here at Wowinterface isn't working (at least for me; not sure if it's a conflict problem or what).

The older, "r195" alpha version on Wowace is the last version that works for me, although it's still got a lot of bugs as indicated by the open tickets, such as tradeskill spamming in the chat window and the inability to sort/filter the tradeskills like you should be able to.

With this newer version on Wowinterface, I can't even get the Producer UI to show up; when I click a tradeskill button (either from my spellbook or an actionbar shortcut), the default Blizzard tradeskill UI opens, not Producer.

Is this the case with anyone else? Or has anyone actually had this newer version from Wowinterface work?

fix for producer spam and short temporary game freeze

Dunno if people will see this, but posting anyways...

When first opening each of your professions after logging in or ui reloads, you recieve some massive spam about all missing profession recipe/plans.
This spam is also causing the game to freeze for a short time as it spams your chat window.

Here's how to fix that annoyance!

Open Producer.lua
find lines 251, 253, 254 & 266, 267, 268.
Comment these lines out.

I have odd issues with the options. I cannot set the default-sorting for tradeskills anymore, that screen just shows one "tradeskill" called 'Ace3', and nothing else.

Anyone found a way to fix this?

You can partially fix this by opening CraftFrame.lua in your Producer directory and replacing all instances of 'ChatFrameEditBox' with 'ChatFrame1EditBox'. This will allow you to link recipes and results after first pressing enter.

I haven't yet looked into fixing links without first pressing enter, but it should be a similar fix.

Finally switched away from ATSW trying its best to crash me every time I made more than one item and found this. I was originally put off at the thought of context menus for tradeskills, but this really works well. The only thing I dislike is the colorization of the first submenu. Seeing something like this--

--is extremely confusing when all the items available are trivial to make. Is it possible to alter colorization here based on the item instead of a gradient?

EDIT: I'm an idiot. Found the option (Producer > Professions > [ ] Smooth Difficulty Coloring). Leaving post in case anyone else has the same /facepalm problems I do.

You're addon has one of the most wanted feature I am looking for since I used some 4 (5 ?) years ago : saving other players craft list in an easy and smart way Thanks a lot for that .

Now, there's just a thing I will love that makes it one of the must-have addons imo : linking those tradeskills. I know this is possible as MrTrader allows it, and I found it very useful as it allows me to link my alts crafts directly.

"# shift+click for materials"

"# shift+click for materials"

What does this do? It seems to depend on the profession, but I can't really figure it out.

When I shift-clicked a recipe on my enchanter I'm pretty sure some of the standard sub-menu options changed to "collect..." but I'm not sure.

Stocking/buying from queued recipes

I'd like to re-request the ability to stock reagents from the bank for recipes queued, but also add that the feature should be able to purchase buyable components the next time a trade vendor window is opened (ala Skillet).

As a lazy tradesman, I miss this feature the most.

Edit:
Just noticed on the main addon page:
"# shift+click for materials"

Is this what I was complaining about? How does it work? If I have a vendor open and shift click a recipe will it buy the mats? Or will it simply report what's needed?

I'm at work atm or I'd jump in the game and shift-click all over it to find out...

Go to the options, select all or a specific profession. Change the Level distance. Anything outside the range will only show if it's a favourite or when you click the +. For example setting it to 75 will only show recipes within 75 points of your current profession skill.

Small feature request; could we please be able to change the font? Until recently I had changed the default wow font's so didn't notice the awful default!
