ccSpeed  Popular! (More than 5000 hits)

Version: 0.4
by: Code Chinchilla [More]

ccSpeed is a very simple LibDataBroker based addon. It shows your current movement speed as a percentage of the basic running speed.

This addon does not provide it's own display, you will need a LDB-based display addon.

0.4 - Purely a TOC update

0.3 - Handle speed when in a vehicle. Update TOC version (a bit overdue, sorry).

0.2 - Added LDB 'type' attribute.

4.0.6 potentially obsoletes this addon:

Character movement speed is now displayed on the Character Info window (C) with all other stats.

Thanks

Just quick comment to say thanks for your effort, recently moved to ldb from fubar and your addon is helping me settle in nicely!

Oh and because it was kinda buggin me (probly cause I liked my fubar version the way ot was) I added an icon to the data object. Perhaps you could create and option to enable/disable etc.

local obj = LibStub("LibDataBroker-1.1"):NewDataObject("ccSpeed", {type="data source", icon = "Interface\\Icons\\Ability_Rogue_Sprint", text = "?%",label = "Speed"})
Any how, thanks muchly.

I'll leave it as it is at the moment, and see if there's anymore feedback.

Since version 0.3 I altered it to correctly handle your speed if you in a 'vehicle' and that fixed a lot of the WotLK quest 'special mounts' for me. Could you give it a go and tell me if any improvement for you?

The one thing it won't do is give your speed relative to the ground if you're standing on a moving object. So, sorry to say, boats and zeppelins are still going to indicate 0%.

Thanks for taking the time to comment, it's great to get feedback,

(other addon) showed the boat, zeppelin, & quest mount speeds. I fine that I gave up some features I was used to having with FuBar when I switched from FuBar to LDB equivalents.
If people really miss seeing this then I'll have a look at changing the speed to indicate based on map movement.

I am a little disappointed about that. Broker_Speed by Kemayo
http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-a...ker_speed.aspx
has the same fault. Similarly no speed indication with special mounts like quest "pets" and other quest special rides.
I used to use FuBar_SpeedFu,
http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-a...r_speedfu.aspx
and it showed the boat, zeppelin, & quest mount speeds. I fine that I gave up some features I was used to having with FuBar when I switched from FuBar to LDB equivalents.

Thank you anyway, Code Chinchilla. This is better than I can do, obviously, or I would be making my own.

Interestingly enough, when I'm on a boat or zeppelin, it shows my speed as 0% when standing still. Carbonite Quest shows a speed multiplier for that, but I'm guessing their implementation is entirely different.

Still, I like having this addon.
